Curses!! What about the major sports championship winners of 1983. Orioles(mlb), Raiders(nfl), 76ers(nba) and Islanders(nhl), have not won another title since???. Good job.
@@theunlikelysuccess What about unknown curses, at least to most? For instance the 1995 NFL Draft Curses to the Eagles, Jets, 49ers, and Vikings. Also known as the Sapp Curse or in case of the 49ers the Hurricanes Curse. Now the Eagles were eventually able to lift it and win a Super Bowl but not before the curse did some Major Damage to the franchise. Long story short, rumors were floating around Sapp failed multiple drug tests and even though they were lies, he fell. The Bucs picked at #7 were Sapp was but traded the pick to the Eagles for their #12 pick. This should have been another in the long line of curses the Bucs had suffered through, but fate would smile on them this day, for others they would not be so lucky. - The Eagles would draft Mike Mamula, a bust. The Bucs would eventually draft Sapp and use some of the picks they got from the Eagles to trade up with the Cowboys and draft Derrick Brooks. Those 2 would then lead the Bucs over the Eagles in the NFC Championship game, a game the Eagles thought they had in the Bag. The final game in the Vet was a crushing loss to a Sapp and Brooks lead Buccaneer team. They would also lose the first game in the Linc to the Sapp and Brooks lead Bucs in 2003. Sapp shut down the Vet and then Opened up the Linc. - The Jets would pick at #9 overall and Sapp fell to them. There is the Iconic Video of all the Jets Fan chanting "WE WANT SAPP!!!" only to hear the person they drafted was named Brady, The first Brady to haunt them, but certainly not the last. And in an ironic twist Brady and the Bucs would play the Jets in 2021 and issue them a devastating Defeat. While the Jets had many draft day curses, this one was the worst. To this day have not seen a Super Bowl since passing on Sapp - The Vikings would pick at #11. Sapp had fallen to them. The Current Defensive Coordinator was a guy named Tony Dungy. The Vikings would pick some DE instead. Allowing Sapp to fall to #12 and the Bucs. The next year Dungy would be the Bucs head coach and install a Generational and Legendary Defense that would see the Bucs win a Super Bowl, something the Vikings still has not done. To this day have not seen a Super Bowl since passing on Sapp. - Now the 49ers Hurricane Curse. The 49ers had just won the Super Bowl after the 1994 season, their last Super Bowl win. The Cleveland Browns, who would become the Baltimore Ravens the following year in 1996 held the #10 pick. The 49ers traded up with the Browns, sending a 1996 1st round pick in the deal. The 49ers would draft JJ Stokes. Passing on the Miami Hurricane Sapp. Sapp would go on to the Bucs where they faced the 49ers in the 1997 season opener. Sapp took out Young and Rice and ended the 49er Dynasty. They would also lose to the Bucs in the playoffs of the 2002 season and watch Sapp and the Bucs win a Super Bowl. They would also have to watch as the Bucs blew up the Chiefs to win their 2nd Super Bowl, something the 49ers cannot seem to do, beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. BUT it gets worse. That 1st round pick they traded? The Ravens would use that pick to select, from the Miami Hurricanes, Ray Lewis. The same Ray Lewis that would lead the Ravens over the 49ers in a Super Bowl. Since, in essence, trading Ray Lewis for the right to Pass on Sapp, the 49ers are 0-3 in Super Bowls. The Bucs and Ravens are both 2-0 in Super Bowls since this time.

@@postverifiedlifestyle how are they on the same level if Lamar can’t seem to ever play well in the biggest moments? Specifically the last season against the chiefs he truly choked

To this day have not seen a Super Bowl since passing on Sapp
- The Vikings would pick at #11.
Cam Newton & Lamar are the best heisman QB’s turned NFL players
@regmo12 I think Lamar has shown to be more consistent than Cam and Burrow, but he needs some playoff wins. If Lamar wins in the playoffs, then entire media will all of a sudden love him and talk about how special of a talent he is.
@@theunlikelysuccessWhy don’t we value getting the one seed? He’s the second most winning qb in the nfl since being drafted. He has the equivalent of two free wildcard wins bc of how good he is in the regular season but we never talk about that
Ion get it
@postverifiedlifestyle I'm not sure, but I think it's the same reason playoff wins have been so overvalued. It all feels related to the way the media has hyped champions and downplayed anyone who doesn't win one.
Baker Mayfield planting his flag at THEE OHIO STATE????
Well my team has had a good bit of success with a Heisman winner, just need to win a SB with him.
Playoff wins are more important than overall winning records and Burrow beats out Jackson on that one
@manicmusician7672 I think health trumps playoff wins, and Joe has a history of missing time. I do think Joe and Lamar are battling for the next 5 or so years to break the curse, but Lamar does have to play better in the playoffs.
they both have 0 super bowls.
Record isnt a team stat. Joe and lamar are on about the same level in the playoffs. Joe just got saved by his defense multiple times (KC afc chip, titans divisional) none of those games was HE the reason they won. He was just on the winning team
It’s also worth noting he’s 1-4 against lamar, and has never won the division with lamar healthy. There’s actually only ever been 3 weeks in which the bengals are ahead of the ravens in the afc north when both lamar and burrow are active. That says a lot
I still think burrow is the third best qb, but lamar is ahead of him for jow
@@theunlikelysuccess hasn’t he also had a pretty bad injury history in important parts of the season too?
@@postverifiedlifestyle how are they on the same level if Lamar can’t seem to ever play well in the biggest moments? Specifically the last season against the chiefs he truly choked
@@postverifiedlifestyle Burrow has played better in big games, but I agree record isn't a team stat. QBs get hit with heavy credit or blame for losses.
In my opinion, I think Lamar is one of the most talented athletes the NFL has ever seen, but he will never get recognized as a great unless he wins a Super Bowl.
Burrow will feel the same pressure if the Bengals don't win one in the next few years. They are both the same age, but because Burrow has only played two full seasons he isn't feeling that pressure yet.
I think Lamar is a better version of Michael Vick and he is going to end up with some crazy numbers, but people are going to point to his playoff record constantly as his 'flaw.'
I think the title is misspelt but great video unc
@RileyPhilpotts Fixed now, and appreciate the comment
Poor Jason white had the body of an old man by the time he was finished at OU. Dudes shoulder and knees were destroyed
I didn’t realize Bradford had such a favorable TD/INT ratio. Without injuries he would still be on a roster in present day atleast as a bridge QB somewhere no doubt
@KillaCamPine Bradford was much better than people think, but his injuries and where the Rams were at did his potential an injustice.
@@theunlikelysuccess absolutely I always used to kinda cringe at the Bradford slander even when I was younger
Baker has always had doubters. From walk on to Heisman. He had a “prove it or gtfo” last year and played his best ball since injury.
Keep doubting him. You’ll just get proven wrong like everyone else.
Boomer!
@TheCOMiiT Baker winning a Super Bowl would be awesome, would love to see all the people who called him a bum eat their words.
Baker MayTRASH
Joe borrow remind me of Drew Brees just taller
@D2Rwall17 Interesting, I feel like I hear him compared to Tom Brady all the time but Brees is criminally underrated in my opinion.
Tebow was screwed, the nfl changed his throwing motion.
Tebow screwed himself by simply not going to TE like he should have.
You didn’t put Troy Smiths NFL career in perspective, remember he was gonna be the starter OVER Joe Flacco but got MRSA and lost like 30 pounds heading into that season!!! I think Troy would have been solid if that never happened… and Jameis DIDNT play in another National Title, they loss to Oregon who then lost to O State and Ezekiel Elliot!!!
@bryandungee1029 Those are fair points on Troy, but he was not the long-term option for the Ravens. I could have seen him having a Tyrod Taylor type of career.
Thanks for the note on the Jameis piece, that's an error on my part in the write up. Appreciate you watching.
Lamar jackson, nuff said
nah playoff Lamar is bad😭😭
@geekedxr9281 Yea, it hasn't been great but his career overall is already HOF caliber. There are a few guys on the list I am hoping win a Super Bowl.

Josh allen past the wildcard since 2021

Lemme guess though… allen is a playoff riser to you
Lol
Joe Burrow
Jason White didnt even get drafted
I still think Larry Fitzgerald should have won the Heisman that year but that's me. He caught a touchdown in every game that year. These wideouts today aren't doing that even in offenses that throw 50 times a game imo
@@bbryant9455 Larry Fitzgerald has been underrated at every level. Wish that guy would have won a Super Bowl.
He had the body of a 60 year old when he was finished at OU. His shoulder and knees were destroyed
Yo wtf. How are off the field issues not something that should go in this video ?? 😂😂. It has to do with your draft. Or maybe his decision making. 😊. Plus you talked about Johnny's off the field scandal a little
@Guyonthecouch420 Manziel I have a full video on, but didn't want to make it a focus of the video. Might cover Winston in a full video in the future, but didn't want to touch base on all the outside stuff he had in college. I did consider it though.
@@theunlikelysuccess that makes sense. I just think off the field does impact your draft class. Thank you for the video and the reply !! Keep it going
@@Guyonthecouch420 We agree on that for sure. Appreciate the support!
But the Heisman winning RBs succeed in the NFL mostly
@babygoat_szn2548 The RBs have become fewer and fewer who win the Heisman, but the ones who have become decent players. I still wonder why Reggie Bush didn't become the best back in the NFL at some point, he was insane at USC.
@@theunlikelysuccesscame in too early in the league. He would be a McCaffery type if he came out now.
@@justing6292 He was definitely ahead of his time, there are certain guys who would be better now and vice versa. Reggie in today's NFL would be lethal.
True, case in point, Marcus Allen is the only player in Football History to win the Heisman, NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP. Might be the most accomplished Heisman winner ever.
1981 - Won Heisman
1982 - Won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year
1983 - Won Super Bowl MVP
1985 - Won NFL MVP and NFL Offensive Player of the Year
1993 - Won NFL Comeback Player of the Year
Also holds NFL records that will probably never be broken.
Most Consecutive Seasons with Multiple Touchdowns - 16 years in a row (tied with Irvin Fryar)
Most Consecutive Seasons with Multiple Rushing Touchdowns - 16
Most Consecutive Seasons with a Rushing Touchdown - 16
Oldest Player with 10+ Touchdowns in a Season - 37 years old
Even though Al Davis messed up his career, he still ranks #3 in All Time Rushing TDs with 123, and ranks #14 in All Time Rushing Yards. First player in NFL History with 10,000 Yards rushing and 5,000 Yards receiving.
In 1983 the Raiders would win the Super Bowl and he would win Super Bowl MVP. Here are his stats in that playoff run in 3 games
58 Carries
466 Yards
8.03 Yards Per Carry
4 TDs
14 Catches
118 Yards
8.4 Yards Per Catch
1 TD
Marcus Allen would score at least 1 TD in his first 7 playoff games. Here is his playoff stats
267 Carries
1,347 Yards
5.04 Yards Per Carry
11 TDs
53 Catches
530 Yards
10.0 Yards Per Catch
2 TDs
Only 1 Fumble Lost
@@WillMuny Great stats. I primarily remember Marcus Allen for the Bo Jackson situation, but haven't taken a deeper look into how great his career actually was.
My NFL fan days started late 90s but I caught some of the Marcus Allen on the Chiefs days.
Might have to go back and consider a full video on the guy.
Murray is a shrimp, he can’t throw in the pocket.
@lethal3245 True, but he's also a pretty talented athlete.
Awesome Video
Appreciate it!
Dmac should have won
But so should have Adrian Peterson his freshman year
@jeremybowman7126 McFadden probably should have won, but to your point Peterson also owned a season and lost.
The same thing can be said about recivevers. The best recivevers dont come from the top collegs. Jerry, TO, Tyreek, Moss....all went to either HBCU or non top 5 power conferences. Basically in short just because you're great in collge done mean you gonna Excell in the pros.....Tom Brady(7x Superbowl champ)199th......end of discussion
@tom97009 To be fair, Moss went to Notre Dame before he transferred, but I can think of some high level receivers from big schools also.
Brady was drafted into a perfect situation but also turned himself into a 1 of 1.
Fix the title
