If you are still in contact with this organization..here's a tip for them...go buy a couple short pieces of rebar that you can put through the bars of the top of the cage to carry it. It's much safer and it'll be easier for multiple people to carry the cages especially for the larger dogs. Thank you for the work you and this organization has done.
If I ever take a trip to the Bahamas, the first thing I'll do is go straight to Abaco Shelter to volunteer!

Those people don't think before they speak. I was excited to see the possibility of Thylacine but after he addressed the hoax I was sad. But I understand the process and it takes alot of research and vetting to actually figure out the truth. Just like Forrest did in his videos

This is so amazing. Spaying and neutering is so important for so many reasons for their own health as well as stopping the over population of dogs
As long as it's done at the right age, don't forget that.. to many shelters unfortunately cause problems when they take in pups or pregnant females and spay and neuter the pups way too soon. Ofc not saying spaying the bitches is bad, just the ones who let the female give birth and then spay and neuter the pups really early as this can and does cause physical and mental problems in dogs when they lack those essential hormones for growth.
Oh how I’d love to spend a day with Forrest. His knowledge, humor and compassion for animals is unparalleled. He’s as genuine as they get.

My dog was left in a house and near starved to death. I've had her officially a year and she’s amazing! Best dog ever (and expensive… self rescuing is pricy with spay/shots/chip + other medical care and food)

I agree with both of you, Steve Irwin and Jeff Corwin were my childhood heroes and Coyote Peterson and Forrest Galante are also personal role models despite me being 26 and absolutely no desire to get stung again 😂😂

I LOVE dogs! I've got 4 right now All of my dogs have been rescues except ones i got in the distant past. Except for one Beagle who had bad seizures, all of my dogs have been spayed or neutered. I've been involved in Rescue since I retired in 2012. I used to transport & foster but now i just network, mainly Beagles, since I've become disabled.

I know it will never ever happen but I would love to hangout with Forrest. He seems like the most fun and chill guy. Even just a hike with him seems so amazing I would learn so much but he’s not a typical biologist where they’re too serious and don’t have fun. He seems like a true bro down for any bad fun decisions haha
It's great you're helping out. My first dog was feral and had to be live trapped for the rescue we adopted her from to get her. It was a lot of work but she ended up being my best friend. Because of her we fostered probably over 150 dogs and cats over the years.

My wife and I rescued a Potcake from a shelter up in Ohio a couple of years ago and he is the best boy after some training. Highly recommend rescuing these sweet dogs!
I got my dog from a shelter, and it's definitely the best decision I ever made. I wake up most days feeling like "ugh, this shit again." Then my Cinnabon hops the bed, her tails wagging, and even on the days she crushes my gnads, everything still feels better enough.

Condolences friend, as someone who has owned probably close to 100 pets over my life and didn't know how to care for a few of them when I was a kid, it's always a heavy blow. That's why I cherish the memories I have of them and always make sure I take pictures and videos of even my little tetras

My dog came from Georgia as a street dog. for quite some time you couldn't approach him without him rolling over and urinating all over himself. But now he is the best dog I could have wished for. ❤

I did that with four dogs recently at our local shelter. They put out a alert saying they were over capacity and they had to lock their doors and they could not take any more animals. We already have four young kids two dogs we adopted and a cat. We fostered four dogs at different times, and within one month of having each dog we found a home for them on our own. Just by simply posting nice pictures. It’s something as simple as that that can make someone fall in love with a dog and want to adopt them. When shelters get full and no one’s taking the animals, we all know what the next step is.
Respect for helping those dogs have a chance in life! Amazing project and adventure

Genuinely, mixed breed dogs are the healthiest in my experience. Every dog I've had was mixed, and they all lived to 10 at least, with the only one that lived to "just" 10 (my grandma's dog Baloo when I was a kid) being a pure Golden Lab/Golden Retriever mix. Obviously there's gonna be outliers, like if your dog is part Bulldog or Pug, but still.
Also completely unrelated to my comment but the bit at the beginning of the video where Forrest took his shirt off was really funny to me, man's married and still slaying 😂😂

Forrest, I've been watching your videos for quite some time and I think what you do is amazing. I live in South East Queensland, Australia and I truly believe with my whole heart that I have sighted what I believe to be a greys Wallaby (toolache Wallaby). I live on a farm, I see many kangaroos and wallaby's but this one stood out to me. I was sitting outside on the porch early morning around 6:00 AEST when I seen it around 70 metres away. It stood around 1.2m tall, bigger than the typical rock wallaby's I've seen and had black tipped ears and two black stripes across the front of its face towards the nose. In the sun I noticed a red tinge across it's back and it looked absolutely beautiful. I looked online and couldn't identify it with any other kangaroo or wallaby still alive. Id absolutely love if you did a segment on these creatures to teach us more about them and raise awareness because I believe they are out there. I regret to say I wasn't lucky enough or didn't even think to snap a photo as it was merely a 10 second encounter.

Extinct Giant Pengolin has just been seen for the first time yesterday after 24 years in Senegal's Niokolo-Koba National Park
they were never fully extinct… just thought to be in that area. i wonder if it’s been there for awhile or is just wondering into new territory! that’s awesome to know they are back there again

This is such an awesome story! Forrest, are you planning to return to Abaco Shelter soon or visiting another shelter that rescues feral dogs and cats? I would love to join you if you are. As I have experience caring for and rescuing stray dogs, cats as well as other animals. I am also a huge advocate for helping former feral animals and giving them better lives than what they had.
