Johnson had been a shadow of the player he once for the last few seasons but I'm extremely happy to say He's back and this season he has been brilliant.

Johnsons playing better then he ever has this season. He isn't as flashy as he used to be, but he's better at everything else. He is currently back at the warriors.
That try at 4:17 against Manly was the injury that put him out for awhile which saw his decline with the step, but he's back to his best now. UP THE WAHS!

He was one of the top 5 fastest before all his injuries.. he’s still a really good player but he never reached his full potential. I like to think of him as the derick rose of the nrl

Go back and watch the Warriors v Canberra game. Johnson is involved in most of their tries, and that's recently too.
He's also done some amazing things playing for New Zealand in Rugby League World Cups. He's still currently playing he's back with Warriors.
So all those players he chased down either played fullback,centre, or winger. Those players are supposed to be the fastest players on the team. It's amazing because you hardly see a halfback(Shaun Johnsons position) chase down wingers, fullbacks, and centres.
Still playing, not as fast now, but has perfected his team skills.👍
Love Johnson! Unfortunately, his peak was in an era of LOTS of amazing players, some even called Immortals of The Game and the NZ Warriors haven't been a real Premiership contender for awhile now. It's hard to make your mark under those kinds of shadows.

I think he got one award golden boot in 2012 but he has done nothing since then till this year but wasn't enough to win the dally M, mind you other elite players who are on another level then him have won that award multiple times and consecutive and also all the other awards that there is. I'm sorry to say but he is at the bottom when it comes to half-backs. Yeah okay the best in NZ as a half back, actually take that back Stacy Jones as a hlafback and best player to come out is roger tuivasa or manu.

Shaun Johnson was a super star player in his prime around 2012. At his best, he was a fleet footed magician with the ball. Great steps off both feet but favoured the left foot, followed by crazy acceleration into top 5 max speed running. Great story to his career, particularly the way it’s closing

You Don't know who Micheal Jennings and Greg Inglis are running them down from behind when they have a large head start is just insane. Greg Inglis is the GOAT center in RL and Micheal Jennings is one of the Fastest Centers ever.
Due to the Warriors have to spend the last 3 years away from family and friends locked in Australia because of Covid-19 lockdowns etc,certainly took it's toll on the team. This year is the first season where they can live in New Zealand and travel to Australia to play when required. The Warriors are much more settled and because of that...the magic is starting to happen again. Shaun Johnson is on fire baby! Potential to take out the 'Player of the Year' this year.
