Hey bro this is rugby league, not rugby union. League has 6 tackles (downs) before you have to hand it over to the other team so they usually kick on the 5th tackle. Unlike union which is unlimited tackles
In Rugby league inside the 20 meter line is also called the red zone much the same as American football only not 20 yards but metres being the difference.

They definitely are but many on this side of the Tasman play both when growing up. Not sure if SJ did but depends which high school you go to as well.
