- So here we have a simple budget 3 channel lights system which can be used in almost any RC model. it's very well priced at only £12.99 of eBay UK. I installed one in a project for someone and I thought I'd get another and do a proper review.

Glad I revisited this. I've got 5 of them, and with no instructions, I'm glad as always that you like sorting these electronic gizmos! Big help.
They're going in my trailers, with a receiver, bound with the truck. 😊
I've got a few of them. Channel 3, if you fit it to Ch. 6 on your Receiver, you can toggle on and off your Headlights!
All in all, I found this cheap and cheerful. A nice budget upgrade!
Oh ok so you gotta plug in the Esc to one female end and one for steering in the other female end and then plug channel 3 in and the blue and the white clear LEDs stay solid thank you I’ve been plugging mine in channel 3 cable straight too 3 on the Esc so now I get it thank you. 🙏 😊
Thanks for this, watching your video helped me get it connected very quickly. I went on to replace blue lights with red ones too.
Hi Teri. love the calm and gentle way you have of demonstrating your RC exploits to us' Many thanks. Please tell me more details about the radio gear test board (marked Trax- spectrum) is it home baked or available ???
It's home made and it's just applied stickers I've accumulated.
very cool, I'll get them. Thank you
Thanks for posting this. Ive just bought one and am having some issues. It mostly works, but the tail lights and one set of white lights are constantly flashing. The rest are ok though. Any advice please? Additional. The red lights were on constant at one point, but ive no idea what i did to it? Its on a WPL RES V3 board and channel 3 is for the rear tail ramps. I tried that channel and the lights started flashing. Have i fried it!?
I've never used a WPL V3 system before so I wouldn't know. sorry.
@@TeriWilde no worries. Thanks for the reply
Good value
My blue lights come on at random times aswell as the other set of white lights that aren’t the headlights , those turn on or flash at random times during driving sometimes or they just don’t turn on at all this is both my blue and white lights I was wondering if there was a way to make it more consistent or understand why it does that , I reverse and brake and do all that inbetween they just seem to have a mind of their own
I've no idea because I don't know how you've wired them or what configuration your lights are
@ they’re in the normal configuration that it comes in when out the box and I wired it exactly like you did
blue led for exhaust
It is compatible for 2s lipo rc (7.2v)
yes... I'm running one of these light kits in a Van that has a 4200Mah 2S 7.4v Lipo
@@TeriWilde thAnk you
I could not figure what lights go into which channels
there are markings on the side of the light unit but it's trial and error.
Teri,
I have installed the HOP-UP lighting kit on my truck and I too am using the Spektrum DX8 gen2 Tx. The issuer I am having, is that the turn signals only operate when the “steering stick” is moved nearly 75% of its full left or right full throw. I also have the problem that the brake lights only come on when the “motion stick” is 75% in reverse and not when the stick is in the neutral position. I am using the Spektrum FIRMA 70A Brushed Smart ESC, and I am wondering if one of the several ESC programing options may be the issue. I appreciate any input you may have. Tom Garing
That's how the light kit works, there's nothing you can do about how it operates, it's just a cheap light unit... Cheap is not good, and Good is not cheap.
