Hey Jev, couple tips for you!
1. Seems like you’re pretty under-leveled. It’s not fun, but a couple run throughs of the forbidden woods nets many vials, bullets, and souls. You’ll find the game will be much easier when you are a proper level and have ample resources.
2. Seems like you’re more of a strength type of guy. Go to the Cathedral Ward lamp, you’ll see a brown door open on the ride side of the cathedral. Follow the path up the tower and you’ll find a badge in a chest that lets you buy a very strong sword. I get the feeling you’ll enjoy using it. It’s well known in the community for being one of Bloodborne’s better weapons (if you go all the way to the top there’s a sneak peak at another bonus area that you’ll have to remember for later)
3. Walk straight out from the Cathedral Ward lamp, go to the right, and next to that staircase you’ll see a big boi. Let him kill you. I won’t ruin the surprise but it brings you somewhere else.
4. From the Grand Cathedral lamp, you have access to 2 other areas. Walk straight from the Grand Cathedral, and immediately turn to your right or left to go to different areas of the map. Both areas have lots of helpful items to make you stronger.
Keep it up Jev, loving the videos!
Here's a tip: level stamina and vigor
This is the comment jev^ you’ll like the sword and doing a bit of exploring Will net ya a lot of blood echoes
Yeah I'd say he can beat this fight even now but he's trying to go into them dps and dodge all three of them. Usually you can just lure the two melee dudes away from the ranged fireball dude and then run back to dps the ranged guy down. Once there are no more fireballs the melee guys become pushovers aside from when there is only one left
Nevermind I watched it back and he did that on his first attempt but then strayed away from it afterwards. I have short term memory loss
He’s underleveled because all he’s doing is goofing a boss list and just rushing the game. Not exploring or not fighting anything. He’s just boss rushing
@@GradietPanda12345so?
Jev if you turn right as soon as you leave Vicar Amelias boss room theres a path that will lead you to a side boss. The room roght after that boss has a very important item in it.
Ah the bitches of hemwick
Hopefully he sees this and takes a break from the triple gank goons and fights something else to free his mind 🤣
The important item is basically like your ring slots or talismans from Elden Ring
What’s the boss name?
@@amaterasu_xo witches of hemwick
Bloodborne is a game where if you don't explore, the game is surprisingly very very short. The game heavily rewards exploration to the point where it basically becomes a different game because of it
I did a NG run through of all the main bosses for a different ending and it only took 45 mins
@@ericzgrindaWhat weapon are you using for your run?
It's actually so frustrating watching him play. Like you're playing a game for the first time, play it! He's trying to like speedrun or something and refuses to explore/fight mobs to level up.
@@mithex8414 Yeah fr..
@@mithex8414
It’s weird he’s going into it with the mindset of checking bosses of a list, and not actually experiencing the game for what it is. I don’t know where he got the idea that fromsoft games are just about the bosses, but exploration and being immersed in the world are just as important. You lose that if you solely think they’re a boss rush game.
I know you want to fight every boss as fast as you can jev! But exploring the beautiful world of bloodborne, finding secret areas and items, and taking the time to level up makes the game way more enjoyable and what the devs want in players! Love the series so far
Dodge timing is important in bloodborne, if you get hit mid dodge you take double damage
Fromsoft’s goofiest design (besides leveling)
You sure this is a thing? And do you mean quickstepping or rolling? I thought you take more damage if you’re mid jump and jev kept trying to sprint into a dodge which jumps instead.
@@shroom1911 yeah is a thing and he was just jumping because he was running
@@neerxl1355nah it makes roll spam actually risky unlike DS3 the only time I had an issue with it is during the Laurence fight
Beat the game multiple times this past year and never knew
Bosses are my favorite part of souls games, but I do think it’s interesting how stressed Jev seems to be about getting to each boss as fast as possible. I think most special aspect of blood borne is the exploration/atmosphere/lore, and I feel like jev is missing some of the charm by rushing through. I think people would enjoy watching jev stumble into some of the secrets this game has but I understand if the exploration and world building aren’t really appealing to him.
Elden Ring brain rot
The thing is, not everyone plays Soulslike for the exploration or the lore. They just want to challenge themselves against punishing boss fights. And the more you rush through the harder it gets, obviously. I am not a fan of how the story is presented in Soulsborne, except for Sekiro which is different from the others. I never actually played that one for the story either but I appreciate the way it is told. I want it to be like a movie, where you get spoonfed each time you progress.
And the other Soulsborne simply aren't like that. You gotta search the world for all kinds of useless nonsense that I just don't connect with, I talked with every window I could find in Bloodborne but I never bothered to backtrack. So it gave me absolutely nothing, it just wasted my time. If there is no spoonfeeding I just neglect the story. And then it becomes a boss rush basically. It was the same with Dark Souls, and Elden Ring is somewhere inbetween, there is a bit of spoonfeeding there. But not enough for me to care about anything. In Sekiro, I care. Even though I beat it 31 times.
@@waytoocozy" new game bad old game good"
@@Sandlund93”search the world for useless nonsense” because it wasn’t spoonfed to you means you missed the best parts of the game?
@@devonrhodes6536I mean…yeah dude that was pretty much the entire point of their comment😂 I personally understand both sides of this, I love the exploration and atmosphere of these games, it’s fantastic and the art direction really shines through, but most people would rather have a story be actually..told to them rather than them having to seek out obscure lore and having to pay attention. This is coming from someone who rlly loves the souls games with sekiro being my favorite one of all time, and that’s partly due to the fact that the story was spoonfed just enough for me to understand it without having to go look for lore and all that. Granted paying attention and learning more about the world definitely enhances the story but if you chose not to do any of that it’s not like you were left completely in the dark.
jev, you don’t need to but i highly recommend going to ‘hemwick charnel lane’ if you spawn on the lamp where you killed amelia, go down the stairs and go right there’s hemwick charnel lane. if you kill the boss you get to use the table in the hunters dream.

Are you really PLAYING the game if you just run through all of it, not understanding, and have a handful of underwhelming boss fights? :/

@chloemitchell215 do you force yourself to play games you dont enjoy?
Jev youre not exploring enough. There are optional areas with tools to improve your strength. Find the RUNE WORKSHOP TOOL. Its to the right of the cathedral when youre coming out of it. The boss you fight to get it is very simple and you can equip runes. Also for the boss attack the meele dude first and kill him during the phase transition. Then go for the mage. Keep parrying. If you have bolt paper use it. If you go left of the cathedral while coming out thats yet another area you can get telported to. Just explore and dont rush through the game. Your damage is good but you have no runes and thats why youre dying. Also make sure to not mess up a dodge. If you try to dodge and get hit you take double the damage
THIS ^
The fact that he beat BSB means he is exploring more than he needs to. If you are going for platinum it's one thing, then you need to kill every boss. But he just wants to finish the game. And you don't need runes for that, he is dying due to skill issue. Shadow is an R1, dodge, R1, dodge, R1, dodge-fight. Just like Lady Butterfly. You just gotta dodge forward and to the right, instead of whatever the heck he was doing. When it's time to heal you need to disengage completely with circle (hold), just like in Sekiro. And he shouldn't go to Yahar'gul before Shadow, that's after Rom.
@@Sandlund93 I never mentioned yahar Gul. Hemick charnel lane is not yahargul. And yes if a novice is struggling the obvious advice is to explore more instead of bashing his head against a wall. It doesn't matter if it's a skill issue with more upgrades hell win. What is your advice? The r1 straif strategy is literally cheese. You would rather want him to cheese a boss?
@@Oknahidwin To me, cheesing a boss is making it oneshot itself off a cliff or something. Using dodge strategically is not a cheese, it's just smart. It worked so well that it's almost as if it was meant to be played like that. And if it isn't, then that's a FromSoft blunder. How would I even know if it's a cheese or not, on a blind playthrough? And so I killed them like that 3 times for platinum. I never bothered to parry anything in Bloodborne, so I might as well call that a cheese.
You said something about going to the left while coming out from the cathedral and get teleported, that must be either Yahar'gul or the DLC. Depending on if you mean Cathedral Ward or Grand Cathedral. I agree that he could go there and pick up items, if it's truly a wall for him but Shadow shouldn't be a wall. I don't care how a boss is killed, as long as he engages with it both offensively and defensively.
@@Sandlund93 that's not yahargul that's nightmare frontier. If the amygdala grabs you while you have the tonsil stone it takes you to nightmare frontier. The amygdala is placed right above the enterance to yahargul which is blocked if you dont kill rom. If you dodge right and hit once you'll get the last shadow stuck in a loop and cheese him. That's what I'm talking about. Not normally dodging and hitting. And if you've wondering I've also platinumed bloodborne
He’s so mad from the shadows wait until he fights micolash
lol. "I don't want to fight anything or explore. I just want to run from boss to boss." Then gets mad when he's under-leveled and getting wrecked. I love the Shadows of Yarnham fight.
lol exactly what I said. He’s skipping the majority of the game and then complaining that the boss isn’t fun. YOU MADE IT NOT FUN
I hate gank fights but i can say that Shadows are one of the better ones in the series and i actually do quite enjoy them. Especially since their hp isnt too high and one dude, the mage, isnt too bad while being in the distance. I enjoy this fight
I remember the videos from your room at your grandparents house. So happy to see a good person thriving and still happy with what they do. Much love Jev.
Jev keep in mind once you beat the game it immediately puts you into NG+ so if you want to, you should do the dlc before beating the game
He can't even beat the shadows, how do you expect him to beat the game 😂

Jev, defeat the side boss that’s located right of the where you fought Amelia to get the special item. Once you have the item, head to the table in the hunter’s dream. Use your gun for parries more often. Where you turn left by the stairs to the boss, turn right instead to unlock shortcut. Focus more on the ones that are charging towards you. They can be easy to parry.
Edit: turn right when you exit the place where you fought Amelia.
Notes on the shadows fight.
1. Kill the melee shadow first, easy to visceral, in stage 2 its attacks are extended , will kill you out of nowhere.
2. Leave candle shadow for last , can be glitched into a loop of dodging , avoiding snake summons
3. Use the long stone pillar on the right to separate shadows

Doesn’t help he keeps comparing this to Elden ring by far the easiest of the soulsborne games and hands everything to you.
blood vials always heal 40% of your max hp so they scale with your hp. it's to incentivise using the rally system (when you get back health after getting hit)
I figured this must be the case. It makes vitality the most broken stat. And I still see people who think it's useless in Bloodborne. Well, not if it lets you first try Orphan on a blind playthrough. Then it's kinda useful lol. With 2k HP everything becomes a joke, except maybe the Defiled Chalice Dungeon but that puts you at 50% HP so.
@@Sandlund93 Honestly vitality is pretty much the most important stat in the souls games, Bloodborne it's slightly more important, but Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series have a lot of bosses that hit ridiculously hard so having the extra HP is important in them too.
@@logan62097 100%. I think it's just tough guys, who beat the games dozens of times, who think HP is useless. Because it is to them. Like, I can beat Geni without using any gourds. But that's because I beat him over 50 times at this point. Which means I probably fought him over 100 times. When you are learning the fights, HP is gonna give you more practice per try in the long run. That should be a no-brainer.
At the Cathedral Ward lamp there will be a newly opened area on the right which will lead you to a large tower and at the top of it you will get a new hunter badge which will allow you to buy Ludwig's Holy Blade, which is a broad sword and the trick mode turns into a greatsword (it's a strength weapon obviously)
And from Vicar Amelia's lamp there's a little path on the right (left if you're coming from the path with all the enemies) that will lead you to Hemwick Charnel Lane which there is a boss that gives you an item to use those runes you've found, they're like talismans from Elden Ring. Hope this helps you out a bit!
LHB is a mostly quality weapon from what I can remember though? Or am I mistaken? Well, blood gems do change the scaling for weapons regardless

The fact he is making this a series I am so fucking happy i could cry, one thing to keep in mind is the higher your insight the hard the game will be so if it gets too insane spend some of the insight, i thing it caps at 99, there is an area near amelia that has a another boss that unlocks the rune workshop so you can equip runes on your character that help your stats, and another area near that weird guy sitting in the church that if you go explore you get a cool weapon and a really cool area that will make your head spin, not trying to backseat but one advice with these older souls games to explore everything you can
I’ve beaten the game 6 times and never knew that insight makes the game harder, how does it exactly?

Fromsoft purposely makes it to where those who want the story can search for it and those who don't care for it can have a good time getting powerful and beating bosses.
hey Jev, helpful tip that my buddies showed me a while ago and i use it in every single Souls game. For elevators that are on runback paths, step on the elevator again at the bottom and roll off, so that it is sent back to the top. It will remain at the top and you don't have to pull the lever and wait for it each time you die.
PLEASE don't stop making these. I have tears in my eyes after this vid. Your Bloodborne content is amazing
A few pieces of advice and answers,
like most soulsborne games, your damage stats don't really matter much for finishing the game, you can do it pretty easily just using upgrades.
Prioritize health and endurance, your vials scale with your total health.
The stuff you find like "clockwise metamorphosis" are basically rings/talismans, but you needed a tool to unlock the rune workshop in the hunters dream.
For the saw cleaver you can just go with a "quality build" i.e equal spread of skill and strength, usually 35 35.
Bloodborne is definitely the most "convoluted" of the new souls games so it has pretty goofy run backs and routes.
100%, health is the most broken stat in any Soulsborne. But especially Bloodborne. People who think otherwise have never played with 2k HP. I don't care about any other stat until diminishing returns kick in. But if they start to kick in on the other stats, I go back to upgrading health again. I don't see how this could even be an argument but alas.
Hey jev no idea if you’re gonna see this but you unlocked a door on the right of the cathedral ward that allows you to get an armor set that sells for a little and a badge that allows you to buy fire paper at the cost of insight (the eyes you see on the top under you’re echoes this should help you progress) :)
UP UP UP
In bloodborne the softcaps for most damage stats start to begin at 25, hardcaps at 50 and above. Health/Vit soft cap at 30, hard at 50. Endurance isnt as important to level in this game around 20 endurance is fine, hard cap is 40 for END.
Leveling strength and skill basically gives you access to most weapons in the game.
I laugh every time he yells about dodging and you can clearly see he jumps instead
Lol what I’m saying
I think the sprint is also mapped to the jumping button, which is the sprint button, so I can see why he would think that.

Jev I recommend getting all 3 one third umbilical cords. There are 4 in the game and when you use 3 you will get a secret boss at the end of the game the is definitely worth! Like so jev sees!
About whether to send NPCs to safe havens, you should definitely find and send Arianna to Oedon Chapel. You MUST save her before killing Rom. At the end of her quest, you will receive an item that, for the most part, is essential for fighting one of the final optional bosses. I would recommend reading her Wiki page, there’s not a ton of spoilers, just boss names.

Have not seen anyone really talk about insight yet. The way you get more is by items or when you see a boss for the first time and kill them you will get insight. The more insight you have they more the world will start to change and you will see more of the cosmic horror side of bloodborne. Also can change gameplay with "new" enemies or them having new attacks, this doesn't make the game much harder but can be confusing on why certain things will start to happen. Also the more insight the faster your character will get the frenzy status from enemies. Glad to see this being a series what a great game.

You can gain health back by attacking enemies rather than having to rely on blood vials. Being passive or retreating to heal will make you get punished more often, so its recommended to be more aggressive than the other games.
You gotta do the dlc in this run too 🔥. The dlc bosses are on a NEXT level compared to the main story imo
To make the fight WAY easier to where you’re basically only fighting one Shadow. You could do other things in order to get this fight over with , Basically talking to that guy who’s in the knight armor before the elevator will give you an “rune” you can use that rune to summon others to help you in your boss fight. But in order to use runes you have to get the workshop tool - going left before you go up the stairs to fight Vicar Amelia is another area where going further will unlock another and at the end of that is a boss fight called the “Witches of Hemwick” . The area is not that challenging, just the beginning part of the shooting and dogs is annoying but I got through it quick. Once you get to the “Witches of Hemwick” and enter in the boss fight you’re gonna want too use a bold hunters mark and spend all of your insight at the insight shop. Having insight will make the witches spawn basically minions which makes the fight 10x more tedious . Then re enter the fight and chase the witches around and kill them (Easiest fight in the game imo) After that go down the door which is right after the lamp and the workshop tool should be right there. Now go back to hunters dream and go to the tool, go to the 4th selection and put your rune on. After all this go down to the shadows boss fight and up the walkway before entering the fight is the first summon and another summon is up all the walkway to the left of the gate (Btw you’re probably gonna be out of insight so use some madman’s knowledge so you can summon these guys or else the summons won’t appear) doing all this will basically make the fight a cakewalk. Free guide for anyone struggling with this fight

But honestly dude you gotta ditch the "speed run" mentality and explore and level, if you REALLY don't want to then you aren't gonna enjoy the game too much and it won't be worth your time imo. Better off quitting and going next
the whole sending people to places is not important at all. Mainly just side stories, technically can you give you a semi important item but it’s not the only way to get the item
i finished the game 5 years ago and never watched content bout it but i having fun here! pls dont stop making it
Should make a separate channel dedicated to as long of play throughs as possible with as little editing as possible; just genuine, old-fashioned jev emotion
the way you said vicar🤣
The Elden ring dlc playlist is going to bang
you always 100% cod camo grinds but the best feeling in a souls game is knowing you completed any and everything. would like to see you really 100% all souls games
It's not a waste of time, it's ✨exploring✨ in the greatest videogame of all time, cherish it
Beating Amelia causes the game to shift into its next phase basically. When you start it’s still kinda during the day after beating her your progress the night by touching the skull. Keep goin jev! 🔥🔥
Jev I would recommend getting the Whorligig Saw or Ludwig’s Holy Blade. Those two weapons fit your play style the most since they’re strength based weapons and they don’t have a complicated move set. Personally I like Whorligig saw, but if you wannna get wacky you could try out weapons like Chicage, Beast Claws, or Stake Driver
I'm recommending he get the Ludwig's Greatsword since he has access to it and it's considered the new player friendly weapon. Plus running through dlc early for Whirly is probably a bit much for a new player
No way hes gonna use the pizza cutter. Ludwigs holy blade is the best way to go but honestly saw cleaver never drops off he can just keep using it.
or! or! let him play the game
@@RessTheMess Of course but with the comments being the way they are though I've at least not seen any rude demanding comments calling him out for not playing right.
He can barely beat shadows of yharnam and now you want him to go straight to DLC??
You should definitely fight the witches of hemwick before the shadows.
What do you mean? Witches are harder then the shadows especially when you walk in with 0 insight they just melt health bars
The Shadows are honestly the only multi enemy boss fight i ever enjoyed, playing ds1 right now for the first time and Ornstein/Smough was sooo bad imo
As someone who has gone through this personally when he was much younger and just currently going through this right now.Keep your head up your a soldier
A lot of the beast bosses, like Vicar Amelia, are susceptible to limb damage like Amelia’s back right leg. If you damage certain limbs enough, they’ll break and take more damage, so Amelia can be killed within 30 seconds if you focus on her back right leg, beast blood pellet, and use fire paper.
Lie
@@S7KIVI Watch a speedrun.
@@S7KIVIits not a lie lmfao ive done it myself. you go from one limb to another and shes basically sunlocked the entire fight. same with paarl
Probably my favorite part about the bosses in this game, being able to absolutely melt their health if you learn their weak spots feels so incredible and rewarding
Petition for Jev to release the uncut version of these type of playthroughs needs to happen. Even just on another channel I just need it man
I promise the DLC is the best part, OST goated
I love your editing style. I guess we all can't get enough of it. Would love some unedited gameplay/playthrough on a second channel. Then you don't have to worry about it effecting your main channel.
You don't have to worry so much about doing things "the right way", anything you can miss out on is optional. Play it however you want and take your time!
i agree with what people are saying about exploration. you're likely to face the final boss with about a +6 weapon and be extremely underpowered and ultimately not enjoy the entire playthrough by trying to speedrun it on a first playthrough. no hate, just go and explore more!
NO WAYY JEV IS ON BLOODBORNE HAHAHAH THANK YOU
You need to explore please 😭
Jev, you should pick up the saw spear from Yharnam. Its a weapon you get from exploring more of the sewers. Its basically a bigger saw clever with better damage.
GOOD LUCK🙏
If you had posted an unedited video it is more just enjoying someone's thought process of learning a souls game for the first time. It's always an enjoyable video.
Love how people rush through under leveled and complain how hard and dumb the game is
Big tip for you Jev, don't worry about skill or what the comments are saying about it
They're basically just saying builds using skill are the best in the game, you can lvl strength for a strength build and beat the game just fine same with blood tinge
Now the sending people to one place or another that's just npc quest line stuff which from how you're playing/you just wanting to lvl up and fight bosses doesn't matter
I see alot of people who just want you to get the best ending and do all the optional bosses by mentioning places you should go to for certain items so if you want to do what you're community wants to see go right ahead man I'm right with them and would love to see it too but you don't have to I'd just hope you can fully experience everything else the game has to offer off camera because it's a really good game
The big tip is listen to people telling him to level skill because it's the best build. They're literally trying to help him lmfao
@zachhouston514 I literally said that 🤣 As someone who has watched all Jevs Elden ring stuff and knows how much he likes big sword strength builds I'm just trying to let him know that it's possible and not to feel forced or confused to lvl skill
@@SleepyKurisu except that's not good advice to give with his approach to the game. he seemingly just wants to brute force the main bosses and be done with it. there aren't many great strength weapons in the game he will find doing this and will likely just sick to the saw cleaver, so he should level skill instead.
@@aidanEFG i don't see how it's bad advice when mainly it's just reassurance and a fans want, yes their aren't many strength weapons but it doesn't mean he can't try the ones that aren't out of the way and it's out of everyone's control if he does strength or goes with skill 😅
@@aidanEFG Doesn't saw cleaver scale more with strength?
This series ended up being lackluster with his unwillingness to explore
I personally appreciate the editing. Ive been watching since i was a kid but now im 26 and dont have as many hours to watch in a day.
Faze Jev + ludwigs holy blade = Jevs happiness in a souls game
watching jev struggle on one of the easiest boss fights yet is insane 😂
under leveled af
Bro is just mad cause he’s trying to speed run and it’s not working 😂
News flash this isn’t Elden Ring or Call of Duty. This is Bloodborne. Game is mean to be hard asf.
Also FYI there’s meant to be 3 of them and they’re meant to be hard bosses as they’re the worshippers and sole protectors of the Yharnam Queen. Maybe know the story before shit talking the devs and get good at the game.
Jev once u beat this play dark souls pls.❤
i agree Jev would love dark souls 1
Petition for Jev to start a new channel where he uploads unedited footage so we can watch if we want
idk about u guys but i find Jev being lost and confused is entertaining asf and it was only 15 min 🤣
Love the bloodborne videos but I feel like you’re going way too fast and missing a lot of good pick ups/encounters like when u get grabbed by the hooded bag guys and they take you to the hidden village or the side boss to the right of the church vicar amelia was in. This game has a lot of optional/side content that is really worth doing imo. Except for chalice dungeons.
You’re playing this game wrong pal. It’s more than just the boss fights
its not unfair, you're just terrible lmao
Nice mate, one more tip, when fighting try to end your L1 so that the Saw Blade is 'closed' rather than 'opened', so you always start with a 'closed' R1, followed by L1 spam until you have to stop your attack.
But even if you end with your saw blade 'opened' make sure to close it before you start pumping the R1 L1 L1 again.
When Jev said that all he wants to do is level up and fight bosses, it reminded me of a totally fun, totally not rage-inducing boss rush game called Furi that he should totally play. Grime is also a great game if you want a soulslike with good combat that doesn't take an absurd amount of time to beat.
To be honest if you simply played the game to enjoy it and didn't go clip farming instead, it might take you a bit more time to 'finish' the game as you have mentioned, but you would actually be able to experience the game in it's entirity for yourself instead of programming yourself to do what the comments tell you to and who knows? You might even start enjoying the time you spend playing it instead of hating on it.
I cant stand elden ring onlys bruh 😭
