Your weaving is phenomenal. I cant wait to try it myself! I have a huge number of embroidery hoops, yarn, shuttles, fibers, and other goodies so I'm gonna do that as my craft project tomorrow! :) thank you so much for your excellent instructions!!
This is really great! I just decided to try circular weaving and have a secondhand embroidery frame that I figured could work for it. Thanks for the tips!
Extremely well put together vid - can't wait to sculpt on it using i-cord thickness cranberry color yarn and then some embroidery floss for different depths.
Thanks for this tutorial. I tried to do a weaving like this, but didn't know about the key step of interlacing the warp thread, so the warp was more like two warps, one on each side. It's something that could work in its own way, but the way you showed was the effect I was wanting.
I'm obsessed with this - can you do some more?? I'm a crocheter and aspiring knitter who would probably loooove weaving, but I need some low commitment small projects first.
I have wanted to try weaving for a while but I didnt want to buy a whole loom in case I flack and dont do it. But a circular weaving sounds wonderful! I can easily find an embroidery hoop and make one for my sister for Christmas!!! I am so excited now!
Wonderful idea! I was wanting to try to weave something with my yarn, but I don't have a traditional loom. I have LOTS of embroidery hoops, though! lol
Just got me a new starter loom thanks for showing me a way with different shape loom I have a round cardboard circle think I could do something similar with it.
Thank you for your video. I bought a circular loom but didn't know how to set it up. I would like to say if you make any future videos, maybe your thread or your desktop could be a different colour. Very hard to see the details in this video.
Thanks for the tutorial. The instructions are clear and concise. (Contrasting colors for the surface and warp would have been helpful, however. My eyes are old)
Thanks for the great tutorial, it gave me an idea on how to start with the right foot. Very much appreciated! One small feedback, maybe use a darker background so that the contrast helps us the viewers follow the actual stringing/looming, maybe one of those mats for cutting or made of foam so that the noise of the ring touching the wood is not distracting.
Oh thanks! I don’t take the weaving off the hoop. I keep it on the hoop for display and I think if you take it off the hoop it will likely not be stable enough to stay together.
great idea but it would have been helpful too have used a contrasting colour.....tablecloth to warping yarn....easier to see what you are doing. Finishing the edges really interests me more as that could be tricky. Thanks
I usually lurk and give a thumbs up, but this time I would like to thank you for this tutorial. Do you mind if I make a video of me making one, and refer to your video as the tutorial and inspiration?
Great video, thank you! I was brought to your channel from a link in one of this DIY What you can do with cardboard. I am so interested. I want to go thru my stash to find some things that would match my living room colors. Going to make one very soon!
I just tried this awesome tutorial, I am having a hard time keeping my warp strings in place, they slide along the side. Am I maybe pulling them too tight?
Oh great! Glad you’re trying this one. Yes the warp yarn might slide around a bit at first. It just needs some friction to prevent slipping off. So it’s about making it tight enough not to slip but not so tight that I won’t stay in place. Eventually when you start weaving in your weft yarn, the weft will stabilize the warp threads and they will be less likely to move around. Good luck!
That’s a great consideration! I think it never really crossed my mind because I was intending on going back and forth and weaving “chunks” as opposed to weaving all the way around … but yes, that would be very helpful.
So if you wanted to get badass with this, you could hypothetically buy a hula hoop and get busy with it. Do something big for a wall hanging or something. That would be cool.
Thank you for the post. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I've tried, I can't seem to get the yarn to stay in place, and it eventually all just sort of slides off to one side in a tangle. I will keep trying though :)
I was using some chunky superwash yarn, but you can use anything. I opt for chunkier yarns (or double up thinner yarns) so that I get more coverage, faster.
Marvelous instruction, clear, concise, easy to follow, makes even a beginner feel comfortable & confident.
Thanks so much for making this video. I'm a newbie weaver and I've watched this video repeatedly in order to warp my first frames

Brilliant Felicia. I always enjoy watching you
Oh my gosh the sumac braid. Gorgeous!!
Excellent tutorial. Very patient and thorough explanation of quite a tricky process. Thank you.👍👍👍

That sounds like fun! Enjoy! And thanks for watching ☺️
Thank you! Can't wait to get started and get creative with it. ❤

Great video! Really helped me figure out how to use a round loom 🙂
Bicycle wheels!!! I'm excited

i cant wait to get home & whip out my embroidery hoops!!!

I've been wanting to try this...so happy I found this tutorial!
Interesting!!
I cud start with the circular one first ....
👌👌
thank you so very much. it is so much fun. I have already started a small one. I love it!
thank you SO much! This video really helped me get warping an embroidery hoop! Can't wait to watch more tutorials!
This was very help full. I tried this and the result is good thanku....
This was a super helpful video for a very new weaver. Thank you!

So pretty! I will definitely try this out. Thank you!
Excellent tutorial! I look forward to trying. I only have an oval loom. I’m curious how this’ll turn out. Thx for sharing your great tips!
Ohhh myyy this seems so much fun! I will try!
Hi! I wanna thank you for this awesome video! 👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much, your work is helpful!
Hi thanks for this tutorial. I was wondering how to do Soumak in the round. Can't wait to try this out. Thanks again.
From England UK xx
I AM SO INSPIRED!!! Thank you so much for sharing this idea! I will DEFINITELY be trying this in the near future!
Thank you so much, clear and simple, also fairly short
I'd definitely have to mark the hoop for warping
Thanks for the tutorial. The instructions are clear and concise. (Contrasting colors for the surface and warp would have been helpful, however. My eyes are old)

This is amazing. I wanted to ask - can you take it off the hoop with it falling apart like the normal straight weave?
Oh thanks! I don’t take the weaving off the hoop. I keep it on the hoop for display and I think if you take it off the hoop it will likely not be stable enough to stay together.
What a great video.... thank you for keeping it to the point.. very easy to follow your instructions
SO helpful, thank you!
great idea but it would have been helpful too have used a contrasting colour.....tablecloth to warping yarn....easier to see what you are doing. Finishing the edges really interests me more as that could be tricky. Thanks
Hi! Lovely video, I'm so excited to start my first project! But how do you get it off the embroidery hoop once you're finished?
Lovely tutorial. Thank you
This is great! Thank you so much
love it! Thanks for the inspiration
I usually lurk and give a thumbs up, but this time I would like to thank you for this tutorial. Do you mind if I make a video of me making one, and refer to your video as the tutorial and inspiration?
Oh that would be lovely! Thank you so much Joanna. Glad the video was helpful to you!
Thank you this was so lovely
Thank you so much, I’ve been so curious about this!
First time viewer. You are so easy and lovely to listen to. Thank you. Subscribed 😊

Fantastic video!! I finally know how it works wey hey :D And your fine self are just cuteness overload hahaha :)))
Great video, thank you! I was brought to your channel from a link in one of this DIY What you can do with cardboard. I am so interested. I want to go thru my stash to find some things that would match my living room colors. Going to make one very soon!
Are there any pattern books for doing mandala weaving that you recommend. I need a little help I'm not great at free form creativity
Muy lindo y muy bien explicado 👏👏😇
Aww I'm Felicia too!
This video was soooo helpful! Thank you! New sub here!
Thank you for such clear instructions ❤️

This was definitely helpful!!! Thanks. I want to get started!!
Thanks you for sharing. How do you take it off . I'm thinking about getting one ❤xx
I leave the weaving on the circular frame ☺️ it becomes part of the design and the. I can just hang it on the wall
I ordered a weaving put they forgot to put the string in . So where can I can get a other just at any shop Xx
@@crazycatladyinglis2736 we use cotton seine twine for the warp. Ashford also makes a “tapestry warp yarn” that you can use too.
Thanks so much for sharing! Your videos are very helpful
Perfect
Much appreciated!
I love it! Going to try it!
One tip is to tie your warp knot on one side or the other of the hoop, so that it doesn't interfere with your outer wooden hoop!
Kindly share on which video u have shown the horizontal tapestry weaving
Felicia, do you think it would be helpful to have an odd number of spokes, so that circular plain weaving would automatically work out, row after row?
That’s a great consideration! I think it never really crossed my mind because I was intending on going back and forth and weaving “chunks” as opposed to weaving all the way around … but yes, that would be very helpful.
Very beatiful. Thank you.
Wow 😍😍😍
What needle were you using in that very first video clip shown?
thx this helped me so much
Thank you 😊
would this be hard to do on a metal loop? I am new to this.
I love this!
So if you wanted to get badass with this, you could hypothetically buy a hula hoop and get busy with it. Do something big for a wall hanging or something. That would be cool.
Sarah Pedro absolutely you could do this exact thing with a hula hoop!!! That would be amazing!
@@sweetgeorgia thats what Im saying! **studying stiches**
Thank you for the post. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I've tried, I can't seem to get the yarn to stay in place, and it eventually all just sort of slides off to one side in a tangle. I will keep trying though :)
You are fantastic
Thank you so much for the video
Thank you for Sharing!
Nice and clear. Thank you. You might want to put a soft mat on your table so as to minimise the clunking sound which is rather grating. x
thanks for the suggestion! and thanks for watching :)
Por favor, en el aro que medida o que distancia entre los hilos.?
Loved ur work. Pls show us how to end the work.
Curious, what kind of thread you're using here?
I used cotton seine twine for some of the circles and also 8/4 cotton warp for the demonstration piece.
How do you finish it off?
Gracias.
thanks
Hey what kind of yarns have you used
I was using some chunky superwash yarn, but you can use anything. I opt for chunkier yarns (or double up thinner yarns) so that I get more coverage, faster.
You are so cute... I love your work
Can we try on bycycle wheel?
Who else's is doing this in school and googled this because they had no idea what they are doing
That’s awesome if you are doing this in school! Let me know if you have questions!
Not I, but I appreciate that it is here for those who are!!! TH-cam has become my new schooling destination of choice. 😉

Dark thread would have been easier to see.
