- We recently celebrated our anniversary with our first trip to Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic. The facilities, service, and food were fantastic, but there are some areas that could be improved. Watch our video until the end to hear our review of this property. Ask any questions you may have and we will try to answer them. God bless!
I watched a number of videos on this resort today and this was the best one. The others didn't even come close. Great job!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and God bless.
I think you definitely nailed it with this video. We have visited this hotel and found it to have the best food of any Punta Cana resort. And we have been going to Punta Cana for twenty years. The hotel is also very upscale looking and very clean. And the service is also the best we have found practically anywhere. But I found myself bored at night. The theater area is below average compared to other resorts, and you are 100% right about their timing of shows. I wish there was more attention to nightlife, especially on the adult side of the sister hotels.
I will be staying at this resort in one week. I'm looking forward to it!
You will enjoy it if you are there for rest and relaxation! Have a good time!
You will have the BEST time! Be sure to let us know what you think after your trip! ❤️
Thank you for your Carlos & Marcie! You answered a lot of my questions 🙂
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching. I'm glad you found it useful. God bless.
Great video! Also seen your secrets Moxche video 🙌🏾 we went to moxche this past March & loved it. We are going back in about 11 days. Was curious if you think we should try this one out or just go back to Moxche 👀
Hello! We had this same exact dilemma. We opted to try out Zilara because we wanted to try something new. Life is too short to just visit one resort 😁. There is no right or wrong answer. Both are equally awesome. Moxche has a better night life, Zilara staff has the slight edge in service. The Dominican people are some of the most fun people to be around. Hope this helps. God bless!
Great review! We'll be there the 2nd week of June!
You will enjoy yourself! Thanks for watching. God bless.
Great information, do they have a foam party like Zilara in Cancun?
They didn't have one the week we were there.
Going first week of November. Were there any issues with the food or getting travelers flu/sick, upset stomach throwing up etc.? I've read people ate the salad, fruit etc. and were room or hospital bound. How does one make reservations for food etc.🧐? Also, is there beach service for food and drinks, waiters etc. come to your chairs? Is there anywhere to smoke or purchase cigars? Are the top shelf liquor and beer included or available? What about name brand wine and champagne in the room? I noticed online there are prices listed for in room wine etc.
I’m going the last week of November. I booked Lopesan, one of the most popular resorts in Punta Cana, but I saw an honest review about the Lopesan main buffet. It mentioned that there is no AC and that food like meat, salad, and seafood is left at room temperature, so I canceled my reservation and changed to Hyatt because the reviewer recommended Hyatt Zilara. Zilara has a strict policy regarding food handling; guests can’t touch the tongs, and employees serve the food even at the buffet. However, in the Dominican Republic, you can’t drink tap water-only bottled water is safe. The restaurants wash vegetables with tap water, so there’s still a chance of getting sick from eating salad at Zillara
We're thinking of going in February. I see all the towels on the lounge chairs by the pool so I'd assume those were staked out very early limiting access? Is the beach area the same as that people claim their spots and leave then expect their spots to be there? I understand that it seems to be a wide spread practice but we just want to be able to have beers on the beach and not have to fight for spots. Appreciate your input, thanks.
So it's a hybrid towel system. The staff will set towels out for people and you just claim a chair. There also be people who want to be by the pool and pick their spots early in the morning. The beach was pretty easy to access. You should have no trouble finding a spot at the beach. Thanks for watching. I hope it helped. God bless.
@@carlosandmarcie thank you.
Great review. I also liked how you mentioned very briefly your gratitude to God and reference to scripture. We are OKC locals and liked your Thunder gear too 😅
That is awesome! Thank you for watching. I hope it helped. God bless go Thunder!!
I absolutely love your videos.. Thanks for sharing your experience 😊 How did you guys tranfer to and from the airport? Did the resort provide transportation?
I'm glad you found value in the videos. We made arrangements through the resort. God bless
@@carlosandmarcie ok, thank you so much for responding 😊
Hello, thanks for sharing this detailed information.. I'm curious to know, what is the resort/incidental deposit when staying here?
Hello, It was $300. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and God bless!
@@carlosandmarcie Yes it helps..Thank you so much 🙏🏾
Going there in July! Can't wait. And thank you for the video! If Zilara is not your "best" ranked, what is? So far for us, it's Atelier Playa Mujeres (Cancun).
I would say Secrets Moxche was the absolute best. Nice facilities, staff, entertainment, night life and food. Unfortunately the prices have sky rocked since we went. Ironically, Atelier Playa Mujeres is our next destination. What should we expect? Thanks for watching, God bless!
@@carlosandmarcie That’s amazing! You’ll enjoy Atelier. Very grand lobby area. The restaurants are very good, there are nighttime activities in the theater, but the life of the resort at night is the mixology bar near the theater. One negative…there is a different beach experience when you upgrade to the Inspira level vs the standard level.
@@perrywiggins6567 EXCARET arte Cancun…. Much better
Which resort had the best snorkeling from the beach
Hello, Just watched your video and it was so informative We are considering staying at this resort and wanted to know what you thought of the beach? Was there a lot of sargassum seaweed? Thanks
Hi! There really isn't much seaweed at all! Way less than Mexico gets this time of year! They have a barrier about a half mile out so it catches the seaweed and the tiny bit that made it to the beach was cleaned by a crew early in the morning. Keep in mind we were there in early May though so I don't know about later in the summer.
@@marciemoore2028 Thank you! We just booked our stay last night.
Let us know what you think!
@@marciemoore2028 sargassum? Yes… we were there two weeks ago…too much to feel comfortable in ocean
I'm planning on going with my friends to the DR -- I'm 21 years old. I'm wondering if there are other people my age there, or if the demographic is older. Thanks : )
Will be staying at this resort in September! My question is do they have pickleball/tennis courts?
We did not see a pickleball or tennis courts. There was a golf course, water park, hobie boats, beach volleyball, dancing, and various exercise activities at the main pool.
They do have pickleball not sure about tennis
Pickleball at ziva…we played there several times
better than mexico resorts?
Equally as good. I would give a slight edge to the staff at the Dominican resorts. Thank you for watching. God bless.
is the Seafood Restaurant have Lobsters?
Yes, when it is in season. Unfortunately we were there when it was out of season. The other seafood was delicious.
No night life😢
