Really like the heels on those boots - looks lower than a trad heel, but still has that under slung profile rather than a flat roper heel. What is the heel height?
Monica, we have changed the stitching pattern since the time Jeremiah received these boots. Our new shaft stitching is still hand stitched but the pattern is a tighter with not quite as large thread as we used with these.
It's ok if the colors on the vamps and on the counters are a little off. Nobody really pays attention to the counters because most time they are covered with the pants. What matters are the vamps because that's what people pay attention to when they are facing you. The stitching on the uppers are covered as well with jeans. By the way I'm a 10.5EE but I am willing to sacrifice half an inch longer for those babies.
I have a "Laguna Blue" Corvette with red calipers and chrome wheels and I have a 1980s or 90s pair of Justin pointed toe lizard boots that are in a matching electric blue and black. I only wish that I had another pair that looked the same but also had chrome piping. Blending in was never my thing. :)
Ostrich boots are going to be my next pair. The blue looks pretty sweet. Are the JW Boots more comfortable than the Tecovas? I have a pair of those and think they are just ok.
Yes. These are more comfortable than Tecovas. It's tough for me to get a good fit in Tecovas. This too has a high instep for me but the round toe fit is still better in the JW

Or is there a particular about oval that makes it distinct from Round? I didn't see round as an option. The angle of the pic, for the most part, looks like an R toe, which I'm preferential to.
Henry, we are always humbled when someone loves our boots. Our oval toe is inbetween an R toe and a J Toe. It is never squared off the way a J toe can be but its not quite as wide as a R Toe. Thank You sincerely Blake J. W. Boot Company!

I can appreciate hand craftsmanship Jeremiah but when fine details like stitching starts to come apart all it takes is a little everyday wear, crease here, a crease there, then you wind up sending them back for repair. I went to the JW Boot Company site and even Their caiman boots had that same type of stitching on the shaft. I wanted to enter the contest but did not.
Understandable. They don't make a boot until it's ordered so you have the opportunity to make small changes to it including what kind of stitching is in the shaft
We have actually changed the stitching pattern to our shafts and the new stitching is tighter with not quite as big of thread. Note: We have never had a pair of boots sent back due to quality issues.
