    I had a pair of Abilene grey elephant boots that I bought new in the mid to late 80’s. I absolutely loved them. Tough as nails!

    Just got some tony lama 8502 in the box. From a neighbors wife.The guy tryed them on,took them home and never ended up wearing them. They Sat in his closet from the mid 80s she said. She asked for 150, I gave her 300..🤷🏻‍♂️

    They look amazing and beautiful, I love the black color on the entire boot, I do not like when too many colors are combined.

    Love them, my grail boots are elephant! I did hear that "pop" myself today. Found ( at my favorite western store ) a pair of new old stock Tony Lama lizard boots. They are 12.5 EEEE wide, beyond comfortable. The price was also fantastic! Looking for great deals like yours and mine is fun and therapeutic. Keep up the hunt Jeremiah, enjoyed the video.

    Very kewl video. I have a pair of Tony Lama elephant and patent leather boots that were given to me when I graduated from college years ago. I'm looking at them now and I can't believe what great shape they are in. I'm going to check with Cecil and see what they can tell me. I'll never sell them. They are all original and really quite beautiful. 👍☮️🌞🌟👢

    The absolute best pair of boots I've ever owned was a pair of pieced elephant boots made from leftovers at a boot making facility.They were shiny black perfect in everyway and I wore them had them redone so many times they could not be saved anymore.

    I think buying a pair that was dyed can be a dealbreaker. Sometimes if it's such a rare leather or perfect size, you could put up with it. But normally you want the original color or maybe have it professionally done if you REALLY want it to be dyed. Great find though man!!!

    I was luck enough to get a pair of elephant Tony Lamas (8501) as my second pair of nice boots from eBay. I love the leather it is tough but not stiff.

    Hey Jeremiah! I have a question. I’ve only owned cowboy boots with a rubber sole. I found a sweet pair of Justin’s with a leather sole, was wondering if it’s worth getting? I live in south Texas, right next to the border so it’s always hot and dry, doesn’t rain here often unless it’s spring. Thanks in advance!

    Amazing Boots my Friend I’ve been wanting and looking for a pair of Elephant I can afford for a long long time lol. If you ever decide to let go of a pair please let me know on Instagram I may be interested. I think the natural color is what makes the Elephant hide so appealing but the Dye does look good. Great Video my Friend stay safe Semper Fidelis

    Jeramiah Craig I have some elephant skin boots from Cuadra. They’re dark brown but first and only time I wore them a nail polish broke in front of my boot and stain one of them. What do you recommend to do to take off the nail polish off the boot

    I will unashamedly admit I am or rather would have been ignorant of what this dyeing process did to the monetary value of the boot as well as the aesthetics. Still, I find them attractive and this pair would have been more a Autumn walk around the looking at the colors or while attending various festivals held at that time of the year, footwear. Point being, I would have been blissfully happy in my ignorance and I still like them knowing how they have been "hobbled" to a degree.

    I bought two months ago, a pair of very strong and resistant Nocona boots with the comfort of the same kind of leather! The style and genre of these boots is really impressive! "

    You dont realize how hard it is to dye boots do you? I dyed brown boots to black and it took 4 times to work and it kept bleeding off for about 3 months even after setting them in the sun and many times of oiling them you actually are supossed to dip them in dye let it dry them dip them again. The bad thing is you cant buy professional dye online or in stores all they have is crap that bleeds and claims to be professional dye the same goes for paint you can't buy real professional paint anywhere unless you work for a metal company or something and steal it. Buffalo leather it's the strongest leather but snakeskin looks better but is the weakest 1 little scuff against a peice of wood and the scales come off or bend.

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is exactly why I believe it shouldn't be done. Let the tanneries dye the leather and the bootmakers finish the boots

    • @JustinKruger336
      @JustinKruger336 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JeremiahCraig I got angry and dyed them with the entire bottle and it was name brand claims to be the number one trusted brand Feidmens or something it's alcohol based dye because it pentraits the leather better and goes all the way threw the boot or jacket but it rubs off for months even after doing exactly what it says to do adding oil and such idk maybe that's just the way dye is but that does not explain why it's so hard to find Black boots for sale. I have Nocona Snake skin boots but they are not practical for everyday wear and I wear my steel toe black Ariat boots every time I go somewhere but I tried black Justin boots and they are extremely uncomfortable after the first few months and they are low quality made in china leather the ariats are almost the same poor type of leather but a little better the Nocona boots are made in Texas but they are just too uncomfortable even after an entire year of breaking them in they still hurt my feet after about an hour of wear but the ariats which are steel toe are the most comfortable boots I have owned but even they become uncomfortable after two hours especially my left foot for some reason but they fit fine if they were any bigger they would be lose.
