  • Some highlights of the first few flights. This is not meant to be a definitive review, but hopefully it will provide some useful information.
    I love my RushSix!
Someone reminded me that many pilots are stepping up from low B's, not stepping down from EN C. Much of my analysis in the video is comparing it to my Alpina 4 and the Delta 4. if you're coming from, for example, a GEO or other wing in the range of 5.2 aspect ratio, you're going to be amazed at the extra Glide and extra speed. The RushSix is fast, nimble, and fun to fly.
The RushSix feels like a slightly heavier, slightly slower D4 that does not glide quite as well, is not quite as fast, and does not bite quite as well into gusts and thermals. Considering that it has an aspect ratio of 5.7 vs 6 for the D4/A4, this is expected. AR and Reynolds numbers will always win, (assuming similar basic design, i.e. 3/2 hybrid, 3D shaping, etc.)
It has nice brake authority, retains energy well on landings. Seems to have more passive safety than the D4, but might require more pitch management after a whack. (I need more time in ratty air to be sure about this)
The Active Control Risers are great! They require a little more force than the D4 or A4, but it is not a problem and I only notice the difference If I switch back and and forth between the R6 and the A4.
The heavier fabric means it will last longer, but it is not a light, low packing-volume wing. I have been hiking with it, and I can feel the difference with my A4.
A good wing if you enjoy low C wings like the Delta 4, but want a wing with a little more passive safety and mellower launch characteristics, but is still nimble and fun to fly. Also a great choice for pilots ready to step up from a low EN B.
