This apartment is VERY decent. 1.The entrance is bright and airy. With decent shoe storage; that could also be utilized for other purposes. 2.The kitchen is large for an apartment of this size. The available storage is good. 3.The bathroom and accompanying lavatory is of a good standard. Most importantly, toilet paper storage!!!!!!!! 4.The living room, indeed the entire apartment, is light and seems to be rather large. This is aided by the white colour theme throughout. 5.The fact the main living area can be divided is wonderful. You can actually have two different rooms! 6.The balcony is fantastic. You could put a few plants out there. Plus the view is alright. A bit expensive, yet the monthly rent is more than justified! Dear Usui-san, you have uploaded a rather fine apartment for us today!
Well when you live in tiny places… you generally aren’t home much, it’s mainly just a place to sleep. You don’t need a kitchen, in japan you can get REAL food at corner stores
Yep, this is definitely an upgrade from "micro" to "small apartment". This one looks positively palatial compared to the others. There's definitely enough space here for a couple to live together.
I envy you your transportation systems, wish we had trains like that here. What a nice apartment, it doesn’t lack for much, except a better view from the balcony. Rent is high but you get a lot for the price. Very nice!
It's amazing what a difference a few square metres make. I think I prefer "small" to "micro" apartments. Being able to separate the living area from the bedroom is cool and having enough storage throughout the apartment is a game changer. A kitchen bench where you can use another appliance is very handy too.
I like it... the shoe closet has an umbrella storage with a drip pan. Balcony is technically a balcony.... small... But nice to have. I like the layout.
seems to me the micro apartments are more suited to students, and the small apartments are more suited to single adults after graduation. Especially those who want to travel, not having to worried about property while their gone.
I love the amount of space in the kitchen area! Since I like to cook fresh meal, this apartment would be nice. The balcony is a bit 'meh', but better than no balcony.
I like the built in emergency ladder (as opposed to the space consuming bricks they put in some of the others). Even though the balcony is small it's nice to have. You can just sit outside and have some fresh air even without a view. Now I like the apartment, but $1,000 is a little too rich for my blood unless you have a high paying job a walk away. I like that it's in a nice location, but you can't really go on a shopping spree because there is no place to put anything. It's definitely livable. Pretty neat place.
I really like this apartment. It is very spacious. I like how there is alot of storage in the kitchen area. There is enough room on the counter where you can prepare your food. You could actually put a small table with a high chair to eat in that little spot in the kitchen. You can have privacy in the living area when you close the doors. Out of all of the apartments you have seen the toilet room has enough space where it doesn't feel so narrow. Nice video as always. 🥰
This apartment has a nice flow to the space and enough storage for you to be able to live comfortably. The balcony is good for plants especially herbs. It's a 9 out of 10. Thank you for showing us. Stay healthy, happy and safe always 😊
I would put tiny LED lights on the ceiling of the balcony. It has good light, in spite of no view and it being an overcast day. Love your tiny appartment tours.
What a beautiful apartment, I would put a fold down table in kitchen for dining and use 1st cupboard for linen and 2nd for clothes. Balcony isn't great but it's better than nothing, lets in fresh air and room to sit. Worth the price thanks for showing this one loved it. Have a good day😊
Absolutely yes. Tons of space, elevator to the 4th floor, love the huge shoe storage, and so much kitchen counter! The exhaust fan is in English? Interesting. Actually I'd like a kitchen nook there so I could listen to music/ podcasts and eat breakfast in the morning. Love the toilet/ bathroom. These woodgrain doors are so pretty. Seeing private toilets makes me wonder if I could turn my toilet and wall it off... No, no, no. That alcove is closet space for hanging clothes. Projection TV 100%. I'd put a loveseat and chair in the living room area, bedroom has bed and dresser, then project from the living room onto the wall in the bedroom. The kitchen nook can also be used as a work space or you can put a small desk in the living room. Maybe a folding chair on the balcony? Yeah, maybe plants would be better. I'm so bad at plants. 😢
So this is a great small apartment. The kitchen is usable, there is toilet paper storage, you can actually separate the living and sleeping areas. While the view from the balcony is nothing to talk about, it does have a balcony - could get a couple of plants and a small table and chair out there. This would definitely be something I would consider if I was moving and needed a place!
Nice apartment- 1st one we’ve seen that could probably fit a double bed therefore big enough for a couple. A lovely kitchen and storage too! Balcony is very small but at least it’s something and you could make it pretty with plants to hide some of the concrete ☺️
I like it! What a difference it makes to go from “micro” to “small”. The kitchen is quite nice, I think the best one yet in many ways. Where you suggested a baking/kitchen rack, though, I might put a small desk or a small drop leaf table. I could imagine a small half-round one fitting nicely, perhaps. You could use it for prep space, or to eat at, or even to work at. There is already more than the usual kitchen storage, so I think that might be a better use of space. If you want some taller storage on that wall, you could get one of the kitchen cabinets that has a wider flat surface at table height, with a bookshelf type arrangement on top, still leaving the prep space available, but giving a bit more storage on the wall. There’s not a lot of space, but you might be able to find room for a folding chair alongside the table. Or if you use an actual table, possibly you could store one or two stools underneath it. I’ve also seen people hang them on the wall when not in use. Similarly, I might use that “living room” alcove either for a tiny desk space, or possibly for hanging storage. You could put a rod in for hanging, or get a coat rack to fit there. If you wanted it hidden, you could use a curtain on a tension rod. I also liked the idea someone had to put a lamp back there and turn the couch around to face the window instead. Then you could put the TV on a narrow stand beside the window. Another thought would be to have a side table or a couch on wheels - preferably that locked! - so you could put it in front of that little corner closet, but still be able to access it. Otherwise that closet is in an awkward corner space that might be better used. In the back room space, I agree that it is probably the best place for a bedroom. If you didn’t put hanging storage elsewhere, you could possibly create some in that closet next to the balcony by removing some shelves and installing a rod instead. One slice thing about this layout is there might even be enough space for a double bed, making it possible to entertain an overnight guest, or to have two minimalists sharing the apartment! The balcony gets no sun, but some shade tolerant plants would be nice out there. I agree with whomever I saw that said a trellis to go up the concrete wall would be nice. Possibly some planters hanging from the balcony railing, if that’s allowed. It might be possible to rig something up so you could train some vines (like jasmine?) to slightly obscure the concrete view without blocking out the light. I also like the idea of fairy lights hanging out there. It would be pretty! It’s a bit expensive, but the amenities are worth it. And it would be quite affordable for a young couple. Again, if they were quite minimalist! Very nice, Usui!
Dans la chambre, je mettrai un canapé lit, une table basse et la télé. A côté de la cuisine, une table à manger et quatre chaises pour inviter des amis à partager un repas. ❤
Good quality and cozy. It's possible to use it as two rooms: 1 with a regular bed and 1 with a sofa bed. I like this solution. Thank you to show us many nice apartment.
I'd love to live in that apartment. I'd choose a sofa that can convert into a bed for guests, arranging it where it's in the middle of the room facing the wall and since I dont really watch TV, I'd replace it with a workdesk. I'd get a projector to project shows i watch online on the wall since they're white. I'd delegate thje closet in the living room to keep the projector, cleaning supplies. I love how much space there is in the kitchen and the bathroom/showerroom set up!!
Nice, and not that much more expensive than some of the micro apartments you’ve featured. (I think the micro with the view of the park cost more.) It’s a small thing; but I like that there’s a space under the shoe closet for guest shoes, shoes you use for often or maybe wet shoes you want to let dry before you put in the closet. I also see there’s a thin taller space for maybe umbrellas in the closet. The fire escape system looks less scary than most of the fire escape ropes/ladders you’ve shown. Bad view; but can be disguised with plants on the little balcony.
This one is very nice , you can at least separate the rooms if needed. Place a small couch and TV stand , big closet. I consider the shoe rack closet space as well so . Thanks for the video.
Genkan has good storage. Best kitchen so far!! Gas! Good counter space Aqua tile in the bathroom. Nice! So many nooks for storage!! I could be comfortable here.
I like this one a lot more than many I've seen. As a woman, I'd prefer to put the bed in the "living room" area so I'd have more privacy. If I put the bed in view of the balcony, I'd constantly keep the curtains closed, thus defeating the benefits of having a balcony with those big windows. As for the "view," ugh. Reminds me a lot of my place in Queens, New York City, where my "view" looked out into an airshaft and straight into everyone's windows (so everyone could look into mine too). But at least the balcony gives some fresh air and light. In NYC, I just had a fire escape.
Hi Usui, I am not sure if this proposal or idea has already been mentioned on your channel, but I personally would be interested in seeing videos about how people live in micro-apartments. I have seen on some TH-cam channels how innovative people in Japan are, and they have various ideas that make it possible to make micro-apartments quite cozy. Anyway, great video like always 🙂
Finally an apartment that would even allow to have guests over. From my German point of view the bath area is quite big - we would just have a shower which would leave more space for the living room. But the price is really high for so little sqm
Places like these really need "convertible" beds. Well-known French/Italian furniture maker (la maison du convertible) make full size double beds that transform into full size desks, so that you can make the most of limited space. I am surprised such furnitures are not standard in K1 appartments in Japan.
From the thumbnail, I really like this one. But, I am betting the price is higher. Time to watch and see. So, the price seems rather fair to me. The alcoves are a bit awkward, but organizers would solve that. I would put a daybed and a covered closet in the back space as I did not see any hanging rods. Where the TV stand was put, I would put a tall, swing lamp. Then turn the couch around. It's definitely my all-time favourite for price and space.
I like this apartment. It feels very comfortable. The kitchen is nicely separated from the living area and actually has counter space for food preparation. I would definitely put a shelving unit in the alcove and have a toaster oven for baking and a microwave for quick reheating. I don't care for the frosted glass and wish the windows opened wider. The balcony is nice and I would fill it with as many herbs as possible for cooking. Since it is rather hidden from the neighbors, a lightweight curtain to soften the sunlight may be all that is needed. I love that it was large enough to have a sofa that the resident doesn't have to spend all their time sitting on the bed or on an uncomfortable folding chair.
Very nice apartment Usui! Very roomy and though the balcony is really only good for plants I would personally put in herbs and flowers.😊. I thought the price would be higher so I consider that a plus. I do like the light colored walls and love the pocket doors. 4th floor isn't bad and the ladder for emergencies is quite different from anything I have ever seen. It looks like the nearby shopping area is very nice with a variety of stores and restaurants too.
There is lots to like about this apartment, the space, the storage, the rent isn't as high as I thought it would be...shame about the balcony view, but that could be hidden with trellis and climbing plants maybe, some tiny lights... could be cosy...I'd say 10/10 for this one 😃 Suzy 🇬🇧
Oh Usui, wie wunderschön ist die Wohnung! ❤ Sie ist auch gar nicht so teuer, die Fläche ist perfekt, nur der Balkon ist traurig, umgeben von Betonmauern 😢☹️ Danke für dieses Video! 🙏
I find this apartment quite depressing, there's a lot of windows but they're all blocked by buildings and privacy glass, and although it's bigger than a micro apartment there isn't a lot of useable space because of all the doors. The kitchen and bathroom are quite nice but the living space was not very well thought out.
Me encanta este departamento. Lo que nunca me deja de asombrar en algunos departamentos es la cantidad de metros que destinan al baño, ofuro y toilet y al lugar para descansar y colocar una cama no tanto😅😂😂😂.
That's a cute apartment, with a clever bathroom area! That balcony is veeeery depressing, but putting plants there certainly would liven it up! :D I like that kitchen and how much light is there, besides the space!
Esse apartamento é lindo, realmente Muito bom. Ah, e tem lugar para o palel higiénico 😅😅😅!!! Eu seria feliz em morar aí, l Obrigada por compartilhar .👍💙☀️
Great apartment! And the rent is great for what is offered and comparing with the ones of smaller apartments that you've showed here! Thank's for sharing!
I'd put a small table in the far corner of the kitchen and maybe a small set of shelves too. The builders missed a trick with the balcony - extending it into that vertical space could've made it (and all the ones above and below) three times the size!
すごい!This is my favorite so far. Definitely not micro, but completely livable. The rent seems reasonable too, in comparison to everything else. I even like the brutalist concrete balcony view! 😂
nice. There is space near the door to put a little seat. Makes it even nicer to change out of your shoes. lots of storage with your shoe cabinet a nice place to hang a jacket. And always added points when you have clearly defined and separated areas for living. No sleeping in the kitchen. 😀
Hi Usui, I like this mini apartment a lot. Very comfy with lot of storage and space for furniture. The kitchen is nice. The kitchen rack is a good idea. Nice location 👍🏻
Eigentlich ganz akzeptabel. 😊
I'd use the room with access to the balcony as a bedroom/living room with a daybed made up like a sofa and the room near kitchen as a dining/office space
I liked the place. The rooms were nice and spacious. They all had good storage (including toilet storage! 🎉) except for the bedroom area. It needed more storage space for clothes, but I guess you can get a bed with large drawers underneath for that. It was nice that the kitchen was separated from the entryway and had its own space. It even had space for a kitchen rack. I liked the lil balcony area even if it didn’t have much of a view except for alot of concrete. Having plants on the balcony can really make it nicer to look at. The price is alittle high, but I’m sure it’s because of the size of the place and that layout is set up nicely for someone to want to live there. Thank you for sharing this apartment. ☺️👍
Love this apartment Great shoe closet Nice kitchen for an apartment Great shower room and place for washer Toilet paper storage in toilet room 2 rooms and closets and a door between them Also a balcony small but nice Price is high but with this apartment I say was worth it Take care amd see you in next video ❤❤❤❤❤
I only do not like the concrete wall outside on the balcony. It looks awful but the rest is really cozy and it feels like a bigger apartment because it is larger and you have a divided kitchen, a corner where you put the sofa and then the divided room with the balcony where you placed the bed. I think I would place the furniture the same way. In the corner near the kitchen I would place a desk and chair to eat there and maybe to work there. It feels like a "three room apartment". 😅 What makes me wonder many times is how many space goes to the bathroom and kitchen in Japanese apartment. Especially the bathrooms are often divided into a toilet room and a shower room and then there is a place for the washing machine. I would like it but you also have lesser space for furniture. Maybe I would put a wallpaper or something similar at the Walls on the balcony. Then it would be perfect. Surely I would sometimes sit there and watch the neighbours down below where you can see the balconies with flowers. 😅 The price is high comparing to my city but for such an apartment in Tokio I think it is normal or even not so high.
The balcony view was disappointing, and the room divider cuts off AC to a third of the apartment when it’s closed. However, it’s a good apartment overall, at a lower price than I expected.
pleasant space even with no view. layout strange but workable. i like the door closing off the bedroom-it's nice not to have the bed on display! i would rent this BUT i would always be looking for some place else.
This is a beautiful small apartment. I have not watched all of your videos but I have learned enough that I guessed the rent to within £4 😄. I really enjoyed this video.
Great apartment. Even has room for a counter-top toaster/convection oven in the kitchen alcove. The view isn't much but who stands around looking out the window, there seems to be plenty of light.
Yay! Counter to do prep on in the kitchen! Can make rice and a dish AT THE SAME TIME! The bathroom is downright luxurious this time. I guess I am a small apartment person, not a micro apartment person.
Good morning, dear Usui-san. A new day, a new beautiful video from you. The apartment is spacious and has everything you need. The possibility of separating the living room and bedroom is very practical. The price is OK for the location in Suginami-ku. The district is pleasant, you can visit the Suginami Animation Museum. Your suggestion for the furnishings is practical and well thought out. 🎉😊
@@usui503 Ohayo, Usui-san. Yes, I know it, it was very amusing there. May I ask you something? When I return to Japan, I would like to ask you to help me choose a suitable apartment with your advice and experience. You have my everlasting gratitude and friendship, my honorable friend Usui-san.
What kind of plants will you put on this balcony?😊🪴🍅
Mint leaves😍
Me podría yo con una flor en la cabeza 💃
Oh es perfecto para mi. Vivir 6 meses en Japón y 6 meses en España 😍😍
Any type of plant that will grow some food or herbs
It would have to be a plant that requires only indirect sunlight.
a vertical garden of herbs and vegetables
Finally! A kitchen with a countertop that has useable space. 🎉
I saw that workspace and thought, wow, this has to be an expensive place, like $US 1,000 a month--that kitchen is so telling!
That's what I was thinking. The best part of a slightly larger apartment is more counter space!
I keep wondering why there are knife holders under the sink, when there is nowhere to prepare food!

There was a rod in the bedroom closet, it's just that the shelves were adjusted poorly.
@@ToniHinton Thank you. I lack a closet in one room, so I found some clothes racks that are covered. Turned out nice.
Wow, the rent is reasonable. I love how open the LR and BR are. Also live the kitchen.❤
What a great apartment find today!!! Thank you Usui for sharing with us. Keep bringing us more!!
There is lots to like about this apartment, the space, the storage, the rent isn't as high as I thought it would be...shame about the balcony view, but that could be hidden with trellis and climbing plants maybe, some tiny lights... could be cosy...I'd say 10/10 for this one 😃

Oh Usui, wie wunderschön ist die Wohnung! ❤
Sie ist auch gar nicht so teuer, die Fläche ist perfekt, nur der Balkon ist traurig, umgeben von Betonmauern 😢☹️
Danke für dieses Video! 🙏
The last 3 units have been perfect. I could easily live in any of them ... 😊
Very nice small apartment!💗. Plenty of room for a comfortable living space and storage.
I like this layout and the space overall. Nice storage.
Esse apartamento é lindo, realmente
Muito bom. Ah, e tem lugar para o palel higiénico 😅😅😅!!!
Eu seria feliz em morar aí, l
Obrigada por compartilhar .👍💙☀️
Beautiful and organized apartment
This one has a great layout! Love your videos! ❤
Great apartment! And the rent is great for what is offered and comparing with the ones of smaller apartments that you've showed here! Thank's for sharing!
🤗Thanks; this is a great video
Thank you for your comment! I’m glad you enjoyed my video!😊
@@usui503 That is appreciated ☺
I'd put a small table in the far corner of the kitchen and maybe a small set of shelves too.
The builders missed a trick with the balcony - extending it into that vertical space could've made it (and all the ones above and below) three times the size!
You're on a roll Usui-san!😊
Thank you. This is just what I needed today.
Loved this apartment, but the balcony made me sad 😔
Love, love ❤️ this apartment. Beautiful, and roomy. Great kitchen and bathroom!
Really liked it except for the concrete view. Definitely get a plant!
It is odd the way some people have commented on how high the price is and others on how reasonable it is😂. Cleary expectations vary!
It was all going really well until the view from the tiny balcony… but at least there is enough space in this one to walk around a bit.
Love this apartment
Great shoe closet
Nice kitchen for an apartment
Great shower room and place for washer
Toilet paper storage in toilet room
2 rooms and closets and a door between them
Also a balcony small but nice
Price is high but with this apartment I say was worth it
Take care amd see you in next video ❤❤❤❤❤
FAN FROM PHILIPPINES!!!!
What makes me wonder many times is how many space goes to the bathroom and kitchen in Japanese apartment.
The price is high comparing to my city but for such an apartment in Tokio I think it is normal or even not so high.
The price for this kind of space is good!!!
I love this apartment, plenty of space and storage ❤
Very nice apartment with a nice amount of room. Bit pricey but expected for the extra room and good layout.
This is an interesting one, great find.
The balcony view was disappointing, and the room divider cuts off AC to a third of the apartment when it’s closed. However, it’s a good apartment overall, at a lower price than I expected.
pleasant space even with no view. layout strange but workable. i like the door closing off the bedroom-it's nice not to have the bed on display! i would rent this BUT i would always be looking for some place else.
very satisfying to watch. the layout, storage, balcony, is amazing. but the price 🙈
This small apartment is great for a young working adult. The use of sliding doors is a space saver as they don’t block like swinging doors.
This is a lovely small apartment with a usable kitchen, generous storage and a lovely pocket door to divide the bedroom from living space, if desired.
Yay! Counter to do prep on in the kitchen! Can make rice and a dish AT THE SAME TIME!
The bathroom is downright luxurious this time.
I guess I am a small apartment person, not a micro apartment person.
Two closets…winter clothes closet and summer clothes closet.
I would grow tomatoes and herbs on the balcony.
My favorite apt in Tokyo was similar to this. Plenty of room in the kitchen to cook and I frequently had friends over too.
The view from the balcony gives a strong City-17 vibe
Good morning, dear Usui-san. A new day, a new beautiful video from you. The apartment is spacious and has everything you need. The possibility of separating the living room and bedroom is very practical. The price is OK for the location in Suginami-ku. The district is pleasant, you can visit the Suginami Animation Museum. Your suggestion for the furnishings is practical and well thought out. 🎉😊
Oh! You know about the Suginami Animation Museum!
I’ve never been there, but I’d like to go someday.🥰
@@usui503 Ohayo, Usui-san. Yes, I know it, it was very amusing there. May I ask you something? When I return to Japan, I would like to ask you to help me choose a suitable apartment with your advice and experience. You have my everlasting gratitude and friendship, my honorable friend Usui-san.
