Vinck Nade Well it is fictitious, they depicted her as this innocent poor woman, she was in on the attack against a fellow skater and everyone pretends like it wasn't her fault just because "oh, Margot Robbie said she was nice so she must be"
Brenda this movie was literally based on everyone who was apart of this fiascos account of what happened. Minus Kerrigan herself. So I believe that this is the closest thing to the “truth” as well ever come to. I for one. Personally believe she didn’t want her injured physically.
Evan Estopare WildwoodClaire1 She was a party to a vicious, needless crime trying to hamper someone else's career for the sake of her own. There's evidence of it, she plead guilty in court. She deserved no sympathy for her actions.
I’m so god damn happy for Tonya. I hope she can finally leave the baggage she’s been carrying for so long behind. Tonya, your story will help others. Your courage will inspire others. You are beautiful inside and out, despite the abuse and pain forced upon you. After seeing your story, the real story, others in similar situations may begin to believe for the first time in their lives they too can not just survive, but thrive. They are beautiful too, inside and outside. Please live with peace. If anyone deserves an apology, it’s all those who failed you. You didn’t fail anyone.
Tonya, after watching this movie, I think you are a truly inspirational woman! Your character is so strong and you have grit, and your joy when skating is so endearing! Keep being inspirational, we need it!
God I hope this woman wins an Oscar for this. She so deserves it. She gave one of the greatest performances I've seen to date. Brilliant actress who spoke with an American accent! Flawlessly.
I saw the movie and it was excellent - the way they narrated Tonya´s upbringing was heartbreaking and a surprise to everybody. She had a hard life, much harder than people realize... Those people around her, what a bunch of losers... Glad she turned out ok... The casting of the movie and the story telling were amazing... And I needed to watch a good movie, after that terrible Last Jedi one -- no idea what happened there, but it is bad, real bad...
Yeah... some of the characters are like a parody... like the guy who believes he is a "secret agent".... until you find out the real interviews and realize he was that retarded.. oh boy.. only in USA....
Oh wow, this is so great seeing the two of them together and with so much obvious support and love. Almost time for a few tears as I live in Portland and feel like I “know” Tonya from back in the day. Not gunna judge, just enjoy these two very talented ladies.
She got involved with some bad people and has paid the price for that. Totally sad what happened to her. She has a nice life now thankfully. This movie might shed some light on the truth and give her and everyone closure. God bless her
I always watched interviews about like celebrities talking about movies made about them and them hating it but Tonya actually loving the movie surprises me so much
I have been so angry about my favorite athlete's raw deal for over 20 years. It is BECAUSE of Tonya's skating that I became a spectator of her sport. And it so happens that she's always been an interesting and pleasant person. I'm glad this showcases that too. She was portrayed in all media as unpleasant, mean, ugly -- I remember 90s bros calling her fat a lot, which is especially bizarre. The movie is terrific on many levels, and I cried for the final half hour of it. I have identified with her struggle as an "inappropriate" woman, all this time. I hope many others can also learn from her that way now. To me, she's not only the best skater ever; she's also an inspiration, a hero, a warrior.
The older generation is just a lost cause honestly but hopefully this generation and coming generations will give Tonya a chance and see that behind the "villain" the media has painted her as, there's a human being.
Eugene Sidebottom III Did you not read the police report or see the movie? Tell me how Tonya was supposed to stop this train wreck? Do us all a favor and stop judging this woman! The least the media can do for now is set the story straight because back the Harding was greatly maligned!
I'm an older person and remember the true drama well. Even then, I thought the way Tonya was being treated and the assumptions about her were unfair. There was never any proof that she knew anything. And there is a lot of proof that Jeff was an abusive person who stood to make a lot of money off Tonya. She was victim to him.
bluedance lilly Definitely! I don't see why people only wanna see Nancy as the victim and Tonya as the suspect. Things aren't that black and white. She was a victim too.
I have always loved and believed In Tonya Harding , I lost friends for believing in Tonya, but I always felt that if you're they best why would you have to cheat, she didn't cause she was the best!
Jsbond1973 I always felt that her husband did it for her because she was ostracized by the skating establishment. She was his cash cow and he was a gold digging, unemployed husband who liked to beat her.
Lucas Pigliavento She didn’t. Her abusive husband hired someone, so she couldn’t go, so she could stay with him. And the Committee wouldn’t let her leave him, even though she tried. Also Kerrigan was an ungrateful narsicistic bitch that mocked her sponsors and complained because she didn’t win at Lillehammer.
Olivia Kessler Yes finally someone who looks into shit!! Tonya is such an amazing figure skater and woman and has endured so much. Life didn't hand her the best cards but at least now shes getting something for her:)
Madison Proteccmyidentity Thank you! I started looking into her and what happened after I saw the trailer, and then I saw an interview with Nancy saying how “she never got an apology from Tonya”, sl I watched the interview from 95, and Tonya is literally apologizing to her face. There was something about Nancy, her attitude, her bitching, that I couldn’t stand. So I saw her at Disney and the way she complained when she lost. I was disgusted honestly. But then I looked into Tonya, and I was amazed at how royally screwed she was. The committee, her ex husband, her mother, and the media, were either out to get her or wanted a piece of her. But she never stopped having a fire for life. She had a thousand times the grace Bancy did. Tonya is an inspiration, especially in how she still decided to keep doing athletics, keep smiling, and not let the haters get to her. Even when the world was against her. I relate a lot to her, and am so happy to see that she’s getting her side of the story out there.
20 years later looking back, she was a superb skater ! That triple axel ! She didn't need to take anyone out. She was a power house skater. She wasn't a typical skating princess and I do think Jeff Gilooly and his oaf friend wanted to hitch on to her for the money and endorsements. Tonya paid the price.
I ABSOLUTELY HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION OF HER NOW!! Tonya you have the right to live in the present and let go of all this that you were not a party to but a victim of as well... So glad you are able to live your truth!
kimberly b she was party to a vicious, needless crime trying to hamper someone else's career for the sake of her own. Why does she deserve sympathy for that?
Any normal human being who watches this movie (which I just did) should realize that often times, we are creature of our environment, of our nurturing (or lack thereof) I'm happy for Tonya that she can find peace in this movie. She had some cards dealt against her but c'mon folks...don't most of us? don't judge.....I heard a story about Nancy Kerrigan from a VERY well known sports anchor during this time and let me tell you, she was no princess. And this was before the Disneyland stories came out....
That might be true but her character doesn't justify what happened to her. And sure Tonya was also a victim of her environment but none of that is a justification for what happened.
I love Tonya like she was abused, hurt, mocked, alone and she was depressed and now she is an amazing, wise, well spoken and amazing woman and for someone to get trough everything she went trough its amazing you know its amazing how she have turned into another person who make those big memories the ups and downs into another thing not a burden not an unluckyness bla bla u know she is an amazing and strong person in general like i love her and i love Margot like girl ur a kween an idol and keep doing what ur doing im so emotional when i watched the movie i was sad happy proud mad i think you did a great job love you guysss

I'm full of tears, definitely she needed this new opportunity in her life, and what amazing tribute from Margot, Tonya really deserves it!! past is past, life goes on
I have to admit I believed how the news portrayed Tonya after the incident. But now not so much. Besides a personality type like Tonya would love a challenge and thrive on it, not wanting her competion taken out! Good job Tonya and I wish you a happy life. You deserve it!
Her story is just heart breaking and I think that everyone should watch I Tonya and understand what happened to her. They took away her life and passion when she was barely involved but the main culprits just went to prison for a short while. This movie demonstrates that, like my old hobby ballroom and latin dancing, many things aren't as lovely as they seem and the skating is very political and the judges have favourites and often refuse to give you a fair shot!
Tonya, just to say that Ive watched you since early 90s and remember everything with the Olympics and have seen the movie, I, Tonya, and have seen you on Dancing With The Stars and I think you've gone through alot of crap. You are so talented and you came out strong and such a beautiful person ❤
when i would see people talk about how amazing this movie was i was like it can't be that good, but then i watched it a couple of days ago and i was reborn. the movie is really really, THAT good! amazing performance! and i'm glad that Tonya is proud of it!
Очень трогательна эта встреча - реального биографического человека и его персонажа в кино. Марго Робби просто великолепна в своем перевоплощении, а Тони, несмотря на сложности характера и судьбы, все равно заслуживает уважения за свой талант и трудолюбие.
One of my favourite movies! Tbh any film with Margot Robbie I'll watch it, her performances are just amazing, she'll always remain one of my biggest influences in acting 😊😊
A couple of months ago there was a note on some news show I imagine because of the movie and Nancy said she wouldn't watch it. I just thought it was funny because the note was very team Nancy and the movie is obviously team Tonya
Nancy should be thrilled!! Thanks to Tonya she's made more millions than any Olympic Gold would have ever brought her! - and here 23 yrs later the name of an Olympic SILVER MEADLIST is still remembered and discussed!#!?! - THANK YOU, TONYA indeed!!!
This shows us that you don’t have to be prim and proper, you don’t have to be a princess, and you don’t have to be wealthy to make your place in this world you can be the best you can be just being you❤️
Btw I almost cried watching this ! Tonya deserved so much better, she was such a talented person and they just broke her dreams ! But now I feel she's stronger than ever !
He was found responsible in the civil case and was brought to trial for murder in a criminal case. There is no comparison. No one was ever murdered in the Tonya Hardin/ Nancy Kerrigan case, and Tonya never faced murder charges for anything.
Andrew Parodi _"He was found responsible in the civil case and was brought to trial for murder in a criminal case. "_ Again, was never charged. Either way, you know exactly the point I'm trying to make. Tonya was clearly involved in a criminal act, but everyone is so desperate to to believe her because she's been romanticized in a Hollywood movie.
Andrew Parodi This is what makes America Great - NOT. You idiots. Takes nothing - NOTHING - to get you off on some idiotic tangent. I mean you took the bait Hook Line & Sinker. Talk about a None Track Mind.
I watched the film. I am so moved by it. How courageous of Tonya Harding to tell her story and how brave. It was so moving, so triggering and so essential. We need to realize that the media is biased and paints everyone with the binary of good or evil and we are all humans much more complex than that. Bravo! Well done. Thank you.
Oohw,... Margot Robbie really does seem such a nice, down to earth and amazingly talented person (as been described by reporters and as I suspected). It's fantastic how she gave some of Tonya's life back through this movie project... Tonya had, imo, a very unfair outcome in the court case, it ruined her skating life even though she didn't do anything wrong. I'm really happy to see everything about this movie being a success on every single level, especially on Tonya's life now. I wish them all the love and happiness in life, well deserved ❤️ greetings from Belgium, Vicki

she def got her eyes on that oscar playing this character
I think she would maybe win if Francis mcdormand didnt kill it like she did in 3 billboards.
“ life is too precious to give up..“
That’s gold!
We love you Tonya, You will never be forgotten!
I'm crying right now.
Like when Nancy cried from being attacked
Tonya if you're reading this, i love you so much! Your skating jumps are the most amazing thing I've seen in my life. God Bless!
james jordan victim ? Oh please give me a break
Since when is a Marine getting this upset about ladies figure skating? haha
Beautifulllllll!! Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter and to Margot! And a little bit of grace to the ever resillient Tonya!! ;-)
Grace is undeserved favor and forgiveness. We all need that.
The movie was great . I wish Tonya all the best in the future ,she deserves it . Cheers Tonya....
Flawlessly.
well didn't expect to cry from a 3:11 minute video......but i did. Can't wait to see it!
WOW that was emotional and beautiful 👏👏👏
I saw the movie and it was excellent - the way they narrated Tonya´s upbringing was heartbreaking and a surprise to everybody. She had a hard life, much harder than people realize... Those people around her, what a bunch of losers... Glad she turned out ok... The casting of the movie and the story telling were amazing... And I needed to watch a good movie, after that terrible Last Jedi one -- no idea what happened there, but it is bad, real bad...
MartaRC yeah it was really bad. Wish I could unsee that Star Wars movie or they would erase every copy and pull it from cannon.
Agree with you 100% on what you’ve said. Seriously though, fuck Disney.
Yeah... some of the characters are like a parody... like the guy who believes he is a "secret agent".... until you find out the real interviews and realize he was that retarded.. oh boy.. only in USA....
Agree with MartaRC about the Last Jedi. They need to stop making SW movies. It sucks without George Lucas.
Don't you bring that movie in here! (Jk)
Most older people believe that when you have a competitors knee bashed in, you're are not the victim and a good person.
Eugene Sidebottom III 👍
I NEED to see this film!!!!!
Enny Owl it’s really good
Enny Owl I just finished the movie it was really good
You MUST see this. One of the best movies of 2017 for me.
watch it, it's gorgeous
It's good.
When Tonya said “I just hope that whatever I went through, helps other people” It definitely helped me Tonya ❤️
Well said
You lost friends because you have blind faith in a criminal 😂😂😂 you need more than friends you need a therapist
@@Inessence4 or maybe for the obvious reason, so Tonya can win.
I always liked Tonya she is a real survivor, determinated and eager to fight against all odds
Tonya looks amazing! My hero! Can’t wait to see the movie 🍿
Olivia Kessler why is Tonya your hero she tried to break someone’s leg so she could go to the Olympic’s
Lucas Pigliavento you clearly don’t know the story. Yet here you are accusing Tonya of something she didn’t do.
She's an ICON. Both of these beautiful icon really inspires me❤❤❤
20 years later looking back, she was a superb skater ! That triple axel !
She didn't need to take anyone out.
She was a power house skater. She wasn't a typical skating princess and I do think Jeff Gilooly and his oaf friend wanted to hitch on to her for the money and endorsements. Tonya paid the price.
Tonya ur such a fighter and a champion u deserve to be happy
Tonya is looking mighty fine... God Bless her for being so strong and growing old gracefully..
they are both so beautiful. every time i watch tonya’s skating i cant stop thinking abt how beautiful she is!
Ed exaclty! Finally someone sane in the comments
You changed your opinion based on a biased fictionalized movie 😂😂😂
Good for you, Tonya! You deserve much more than you have ever gotten. Margot was amazing in the movie.
Billy B Spill!!! And your being sarcastic with the D-land reference? ( I can never tell anymore!! lol)
That might be true but her character doesn't justify what happened to her. And sure Tonya was also a victim of her environment but none of that is a justification for what happened.
Nancy Kerrigan was found to be having an affair with her MARRIED manager, so her character leaves a lot to be desired!
So? That's not a justification to what Tonya did, she's a criminal , she acted out of envy because the other girl was better than her
I can't get over how much she gets Tonya's voice down so perfectly!
When they hug eachother ❤️
The movie was massive so beautifully acted and made even the soundtrack was great
margot looked like she was about to cry the whole way through. this was so heartwarming to watch Xxxxx
This was so sweet! I absolutely loved the movie and even though it shows you other people’s sides, it’s a whole new perspective that has been shown.
I love Margot she seems like such a genuine person
I had the pleasure of meeting her after a fashion show in nyc and even scored a selfie & she's warm, genuine and extremely friendly. Plus, even more stunning in person.
This was one of my favorite movies of the year.
I legit watch this everyday. This was during my age. I’m 44. N I’ve said u were a victim that has turnt a painful thing into positive. I too am a domestic violence survivor and I stand proudly saying that u are strong loved and now my days are full of seizures and now Graves’ disease which has affected my eyes to where I’m looking at surgery on my eyes n thyroid n funny thing is I watch I tonya a few times a days cuz I live for Margot she’s an amazingly talented young woman and u are amazingly awesome n watching u thrive tonya is so empowering to ur fellow survivors as well as other women n men n anyone who is in any type of situation that even tho we lose everything we built cuz I did myself we grew and changed and have tried to make the world a nicer kinder place. I raised 2 kids alone since I’m 23 n I look how strong both my kids are n I think of the times I felt I wouldn’t get thru I was strong for them but it actually was for me. Never let anyone dull ur shine I tell my daughter since I can remember n it’s cuz of women like u n me that helps even one person be strong it’s all worth it. 💜💜💜💜
Margot Robbie should play Grace Kelly
No. Rosamund Pike should play Grace Kelly.
ron glenn no! I want Cate to be Katharine Hepburn again!
Seetha Golden I think Rosalind would be PERECT as the gorgeous Grace. She has her look.
Sorry Rosamund
People saying Rosamund but I think Margot has the likeability that Grace had, to me Rosamund doesnt
Sioux and the Banshees 'I am a passenger' ,The end credits, Tonya Harding in a pure flow state, Absolute Magic.
Queens, both of them. I love this! The movie was incredible!
I'm full of tears, definitely she needed this new opportunity in her life, and what amazing tribute from Margot, Tonya really deserves it!! past is past, life goes on
Life's too precious to give up! Yas Tonya! X
I cannot stop crying while watching the movie and now this interview.
Tonya landed triple axel in competition. this credit no one takes from her!
Wow I feel old. Still remember when this was news. MR is gorgeous
Good for you Tonya! Stay strong ! You are a good woman !
This makes me want to cry so much, Tonya Harding is really truly a remarkable woman.
I have to admit I believed how the news portrayed Tonya after the incident. But now not so much. Besides a personality type like Tonya would love a challenge and thrive on it, not wanting her competion taken out! Good job Tonya and I wish you a happy life. You deserve it!
Im tearing when i hear the sound of her heart
Tonya is so pretty! And of course, a legend.
I will always root for Tonya Harding. Very touching piece.
I’m seeing her this monday 😭❤️ So excited
I LOVE ALL ABOUT THISSSS😭😭😭
She looks sooooo much better now! She got some work done and looks very happy! Go tonya!!!!!
*Margot Robbie is very, very beautiful. I love her so much. she is a goddess in her personality as well as in her physique.*
when i would see people talk about how amazing this movie was i was like it can't be that good, but then i watched it a couple of days ago and i was reborn. the movie is really really, THAT good! amazing performance! and i'm glad that Tonya is proud of it!
Очень трогательна эта встреча - реального биографического человека и его персонажа в кино. Марго Робби просто великолепна в своем перевоплощении, а Тони, несмотря на сложности характера и судьбы, все равно заслуживает уважения за свой талант и трудолюбие.
She is such an inspiration. She is so talented i just love her
I FUCKING LOVE THIS! Tonya you are beautiful.
One of my favourite movies! Tbh any film with Margot Robbie I'll watch it, her performances are just amazing, she'll always remain one of my biggest influences in acting 😊😊
I'm sure Nancy is thrilled with this.
Who cares?
Beckey G. It's not about caring. Just pointing it out.
They look so pretty and charming! literally this is so adorable they're so sweet 🥺❤️
Tonya got it really bad back then I feel like she got her comfort finally
🥺🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️ I love their friendship so much and it makes me so happy to see Tonya like that after all she’s been through
She had a rough life and that’s what people don’t understand, love tonya 💖
I just watched the movie!! I have such respect for Tanya Harding as I learned her back story.❤️
Im crying whyyy?i never cry.i now love Margot Robbie, i loved that movie
after all those years tonya is still stunning 💞
You are a warrior Tonya Harding and we love you ❤️
This shows us that you don’t have to be prim and proper, you don’t have to be a princess, and you don’t have to be wealthy to make your place in this world you can be the best you can be just being you❤️
Awwww that was sweet! ❤
Btw I almost cried watching this ! Tonya deserved so much better, she was such a talented person and they just broke her dreams ! But now I feel she's stronger than ever !
So when is THR going to do the Cuba Gooding jnr and OJ Simpson photoshoot?
Tonya never killed anyone. Come on. That's not a fair comparison and you know it.
OJ was never convicted of murder.
He was found responsible in the civil case and was brought to trial for murder in a criminal case. There is no comparison. No one was ever murdered in the Tonya Hardin/ Nancy Kerrigan case, and Tonya never faced murder charges for anything.
Andrew Parodi
_"He was found responsible in the civil case and was brought to trial for murder in a criminal case.
Bravo! Well done. Thank you.
I love this!
