    I cried a when Tonya said to Margot, "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me put the past in the past." Then she cried a little and held and kissed Margot's hand. She's a very resilient woman.

      james jordan Chill, Princess Nancy just got a bruised up knee which is still not okay but she had a bratty personality and when she got that silver medal she threw a fit. Overall all the shit Tonya been through and all the beatings she took still worked her ass off her whole life just to being put down for being “white trash” when in reality she was the best skater. Thats fucked up, so she didn’t have a family or money like Nancy did, she can’t fucking change that. Tonya still out did her and to still be put down like that for things you can’t change in your life is far worse than getting a bruised up knee in my opinion. Nancy still went to the olympics she still got her medal and the whole media sympathized over her. Its been 24 years u need to stop being such a salty bitch about it and worry about things that don’t matter anymore.

No one ever thought of u as someone who was being abused, you had no money, you had no support, so less love surrounding you, and you fought back with all you had. You were a fighter. In the scene when the judge said to you that you'll never going to skate, I felt like he took your soul from you..because you had nothing else. That's why winning ment so much for you. WildwoodClaire1 I'm not sure why Tonya is seen as the one who needs sympathy in this situation... We only know what she's told us, and while she's said other people were abusive to her we must remember that these claims have been called out as lies.
      Tonya was hated because she possibly had a competitor assaulted, and if she didn't then at the very least she knew who did it and didn't go to the police. She knew she would be fine, it was so high profile that she knew she would be safe. She chose not to. It's not fair to believe her claims when people deny them but say it's bullshit that she knew anything about the assault when others say she did.

    I have been so angry about my favorite athlete's raw deal for over 20 years. It is BECAUSE of Tonya's skating that I became a spectator of her sport. And it so happens that she's always been an interesting and pleasant person. I'm glad this showcases that too. She was portrayed in all media as unpleasant, mean, ugly -- I remember 90s bros calling her fat a lot, which is especially bizarre. The movie is terrific on many levels, and I cried for the final half hour of it. I have identified with her struggle as an "inappropriate" woman, all this time. I hope many others can also learn from her that way now. To me, she's not only the best skater ever; she's also an inspiration, a hero, a warrior.

    Any normal human being who watches this movie (which I just did) should realize that often times, we are creature of our environment, of our nurturing (or lack thereof) I'm happy for Tonya that she can find peace in this movie. She had some cards dealt against her but c'mon folks...don't most of us? don't judge.....I heard a story about Nancy Kerrigan from a VERY well known sports anchor during this time and let me tell you, she was no princess. And this was before the Disneyland stories came out....

Also Kerrigan was an ungrateful narsicistic bitch that mocked her sponsors and complained because she didn’t win at Lillehammer.

    • @OliviaBright3
      @OliviaBright3 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Madison Proteccmyidentity Thank you! I started looking into her and what happened after I saw the trailer, and then I saw an interview with Nancy saying how “she never got an apology from Tonya”, sl I watched the interview from 95, and Tonya is literally apologizing to her face. There was something about Nancy, her attitude, her bitching, that I couldn’t stand. So I saw her at Disney and the way she complained when she lost. I was disgusted honestly. But then I looked into Tonya, and I was amazed at how royally screwed she was. The committee, her ex husband, her mother, and the media, were either out to get her or wanted a piece of her. But she never stopped having a fire for life. She had a thousand times the grace Bancy did. Tonya is an inspiration, especially in how she still decided to keep doing athletics, keep smiling, and not let the haters get to her. Even when the world was against her. I relate a lot to her, and am so happy to see that she’s getting her side of the story out there.

    Her story is just heart breaking and I think that everyone should watch I Tonya and understand what happened to her. They took away her life and passion when she was barely involved but the main culprits just went to prison for a short while. This movie demonstrates that, like my old hobby ballroom and latin dancing, many things aren't as lovely as they seem and the skating is very political and the judges have favourites and often refuse to give you a fair shot!

  • @informationwarfare700
    @informationwarfare700 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I understand there’s two sides to every story, but this is absolutely true: I LOVE YOU TONYA! This was one of the most stunning and amazing movies I’ve ever seen in my life. I laughed, I cried, I was astounded by everything that happened. Tonya is like a beautiful flower who was completely surrounded by weeds all trying to destroy her. Her life was such a struggle and this led to her carrying the subconscious belief of total unworthiness. You can blame her mother for that. This lead to the relationship with Jeff which as we all know was a total disaster from the beginning. Tonya didn’t understand that however because she genuinely believed that Jeff was a match for her worthiness. Having studied similar relationships through many years I can tell you that women (and men) in these kind of abusive relationships are often unwillingly dragged into crimes and bad circumstances committed by their spouse. Note: In ALMOST EVERY CASE these women have NO IDEA this is even happening. They are blinded by their unworthiness, they can’t even perceive the possibility. We see a bad person physically abusing a woman - she sees: Well I guess I deserved that, but at least he loves me! Nancy Kerrigan was not part of the weeds in Tonya’s life. Nancy was a mirror of her potential and that’s a good thing. When you study Tonya you notice that she skated for the genuine LOVE of skating. Watch her reaction doing the triple axel. This is a human being doing what she loves the most and she does it for herself, to really prove herself. We might never know the truth about this scandal and this is to expect. However, I don’t see Tonya in any way wanting to sabotage a competitor. Tonya is not into cheating, she’s into proving her worth to herself and everyone. This was her main driving force in life. You can never satisfy this drive by cheating and she knew that. She wouldn’t even think of it. Jeff however wanted Tonya back and in his mind he thought a good solution is to intimidate the competition. Once Tonya found out I genuinely believe she was shocked. What also happens in these kinds of relationships is that the woman defends her spouse. We don’t know what happened, but we do know that she eventually went to the FBI and told them everything. In the eyes of the law however, by then it was too late. Nancy was a victim of the circumstances created by the very bad surroundings of Tonya Harding. Tonya was a victim of her own belief that she needed Jeff by her side and she was willing to look past his bad sides. This happens in unbalanced relationships everywhere all over the world. In the end most people realize they deserve better so they gravitate towards better people and a better life. I’m sorry for you Tonya critics out there who doesn’t realize that she is actually a hero. Thank you Tonya for sharing your important life story. Thank you for being a great teacher for humanity.

    I know a lot of people don't believe her, but I never believed she knew anything before hand. Even if she did know, her punishment was disproportionate to the men who actually attacked poor Nancy Kerrigan. Tonya seemed hard to the outside world, but I know she was sensitive to all the horrible things that happened in her life. He hard shell is a defense mechanism. I'm glad to see she has a happy family now, and is content. I feel her career was stolen from her by her ex husband and his bumbling idiot hit men. They got 18 months, and she got life.

It's fantastic how she gave some of Tonya's life back through this movie project... Tonya had, imo, a very unfair outcome in the court case, it ruined her skating life even though she didn't do anything wrong. I'm really happy to see everything about this movie being a success on every single level, especially on Tonya's life now.

    Millionaire here (but that doesn't matter,) but I got into Wharton MBA school. During the admissions interview back in 1996, I was asked whom I admired most, and I answered "Tonya Harding". I didn't give a $#!+ because I'd already gotten into the school I wanted. After my answer, the interviewer was also convinced. Ironically, I ended up going to philly.

    Jesus christ what is everybody hear drunk or something? What a bunch of gushy imbeciles falling for the imagery and claims presented to them in this movie and in the mushy sentimentality of this video here. It's not real. All schoolkids should have to make a tv commercial and try to sell products via advertising so they can see how easy it is to manipulate people and make them see illusions as reality.
