Michael, I really appreciate your focus on quality affordable products & use of “good enough” gear (I.e. Your Plano boxes, compressor, Reliance water containers & ground tent). Decades ago I was intimidated by the cost of high end gear & always worried this was a barrier to what I wanted to do. I’m sure that’s even more true today for people starting out, given the proliferation of high end manufacturers & the flood of people willing to pay top dollar. Those companies will always have business. I appreciate you seeking out reasonable middle ground, quality products. I find most people who have done it a while have some top shelf things they love but usually have a mixture of gear from that to good gear to okay gear to cheap stuff. Keep up the good work. I remain steadfastly impressed & supportive of your cause!
I like what I see, these dudes can be a true challenge to the big boys in this market. Their product seems, practical, good quality, sturdy and more importantly intelligently designed. I would love to see the Demo and the setup, and seriously considering the entire set up in my new build up. Never thought, any product would deter me on changing my mind from ikamper tent till this.
I have a friend with the 270 degree Overland Pros awning. it's a pretty nice awning, a bit smaller footprint than my Oztent Foxwing and the canvas seemed to be a bit thinner. That said, my friend did complain about how much of a relative pain it was to set up the awning compared to the competitor products, and I watched him set it up once and it definitely seemed considerably more fiddly to assemble (pulling, stretching, fighting the fit of the canvas) compared to my Foxwing. Since it costs about HALF of what an Oztent or Darche awning does, I'd say the slightly more cumbersome assembly is worth it for those on a budget.Once assembled, the awning performed great from what I could tell.

I will say people buy awnings for different reasons. Some buy for quick fair weather shade while others want something they can use in wind, rain, snow, hang walls from, and lay things like solar panels on, or even sleep inside. ours is by far the least expensive. If you are looking for the fastest to setup that's meant for only fair weather shade then it isn't your match. If you are looking for something you can sleep under, wall.in completely on all sides to keep bugs out, work well in high wind, rain, and even how snow (and you don't mind spending 3-5 min to put it up) then I think you will be happy. On a side note our cavas is thicker than the foxwings I've seen that are sub $1000.
I was there, looking for the Oz tent, and I didn’t even see this tent! The price point is very good. I was there 3 days, walked miles and miles and still wasn’t able to see it all. Thanks for covering this company Michael.

Not FAST, but dry, level and SOLID. Also have other Kodiak ground tents and I just purchased a Gazelle T4 which came highly suggested by your channel. Fits nicely on the roof racks of my Sandstorm F.J. Cruiser. Keep up your great Vids.Thanks Barry.
I bought a 30 second tent from a place in WA cheaper than OZ tent and I got what I paid for broke before I ever used it they sent me a replacement part but for 300 bucks the tent sucked never used it and sent it to goodwill. Ya get what ya pay for. Would like to see a demo of them putting up their tent.

Lol I wonder if that was my tent mentioned in the r&d . It has a gorilla tape patch right now lol. After getting the updated retainers the replaced the clips for the poles inside it been a solid tent. Since February of 2017. And just used again the past weekend . I have about 20 ish nights in it so far holding up pretty good though we may need to trade up for a bigger one to accommodate the family.

I am not an "Overlander" but normally 2 of us in the family will load up gear and mtb's to leave for 3 day weekends in Northern WI or MI. I am wondering if the 270 will fit factory rack on suburban and no extra items needed to purchase? Trying to not buy all kinds of stuff to add an awning and walls.

Aaron Queen Overland Expo West is usually near Flagstaff Arizona US. It occurs during the month of May but this year there was a virtual event just last weekend August 8.
Cap'n Rik I've had it at Doran beach when all the ground tents I could see were crunched flat and at Eureka dunes in death valley when the wind was blowing sand so bad we could barely open our eyes so we had to get in the tent. Never had an anemometer handy to be 100% sure.

why no one talks about the weight of a roof top tent and 270 awning. For me they are still way too heavy to put up on my car. the ground tent at $400 is good deal.
Lol good quality and affordable for the average working professional. Ummm yah the RTTs are still the same price basically. So idk if I'd be telling people they are affordable. If they are not sub $1,000 but that's just my opinion.

The wraptor 2000 is 89x7x7 which isn't too bad to ship. The wraptor 2500 is 107x7x7 which is 1" short of the max size UPS will take. its considered oversize 2 and incurs a $100 surcharge on top of the regular shipping cost. We don't mark up shipping. You can of course pick the up to avoid shipping. Also you can ship several together which really cuts down on the shipping cost as well. Alternately they can be bundled with a RTT for no additional shipping!
