why I'm no longer vegan after 6 years

  • Something's I forgot to say in the video: When I first became vegan I wasn't aware of animal cruelty. Even tho I've made the decision to consume fish & eggs, I'm doing so as sustainably as I can. While still avoiding products that contribute to animal cruelty.
This diet change may not last forever.... I loved eating a vegan diet and am still exploring my body and its sources of fuel. I believe I said this in the video, but I haven't experienced any level of energy changes since changing my diet. I felt I was eating very heathy as a vegan, but am curious about weight gain and things of that sort.
It's okay if you don't agree with me but no need for hate. We're all humans navigating this human experience :)

I find this really interesting. I'm curious to know what changed in your mindset between being vegan for 6 years, and then eating your first egg?

@@paolarosichetti899 Thats a false dichotomy. You would need to explain how eating a cow is required for her to have a healthy pregnancy. Regardless, she stopped being vegan over a year ago, how does her current pregnancy affect the question I asked? I asked what changed in her mindset about animals to be against animal exploitation, to being in favor of it. Chickens don "just lay eggs anyway", they have been forcefully and systematically bred to lay 300 eggs per year instead of the 12 their ancestors laid. All those nutrients packed into an egg are being taken out of the chicken almost every day. She says "it's my body", but she is completely forgetting the chicken's body which is just as important to the chicken as hers is to her.

@@mrmiller2503 Heart disease is also the number 1 killer of vegans. First off, very few animals live long enough to develop heart disease. Humans are one of the few species that see it's members reach old age in significant numbers. Something is going to kill us. Second, I know of no animals that naturally consume the vast amounts of sugar, processed carbs, seed oils, processed foods alcohol, or tobacco that humans do. If you follow human rates of cancer and heart disease you will increased rates follow the consumption of the foods I mentioned. We have eaten meat and eggs forever and dairy for at least 8000 years so you cannot blame them for the increases in the last 100 years. You are blaming the food we have always eaten for the effects of the foods we only recently started consuming. Third, huge numbers of humans are reversing disease on carnivore and ketogenic diets. These diets reverse both obesity, metabolic syndrome, and autoimmune disease which are the root causes of most premature deaths.

People need to be very careful being plant based for long periods of time, I was like this naturally for years and I would have the odd occassion where I would be exhausted and discovered I was low in iron. I started takeing floradix and immediately my energy increased. Since then I will incorporate a piece of lean meat, either eye fillet or lamb or fish and my health has markedly increased. I never "chose" to be vegan, I naturally always ate a plant based diet and I am the type to save a cockroach in my house and put it outside, I even help flies or drowning insects and I dedicated all my years of study at university and work in zoology and marine science. I always had a sense that meat has its place and that is due to my exposure to the blood type diet when I was very young. My ancient grandmother who is now 94 and still living in her own house and driving has very good health and I believe it is attributed to the blood type diet. Long periods of veganism for someone with an O blood type is dangerous and is why some people have lost their teeth etc.

I stand with you. But 3:46 "healthy and happy chickens" and "they make a shit ton of eggs" don't go together. Chickens aren't supposed to lay eggs every day, all the time of the year. Similar to how women don't have periods all the time. Wild chickens lay 10 to 15 eggs annually. Modern chickens have been bred and domesticated to produce 250 to 300 eggs. It takes a toll on these chickens, and requires intense amounts of resources, often leading to sickness and diseases, most commonly osteoporosis. They might roam on grass and have the best feed, but it will eventually harm them. And "they're already laying the eggs" is such an empty and redundant statement, stop fooling yourself with these "ethics". If you wanted to morally justify your actions, you would've stayed vegan. Not at all.
      Everyone uses animal products.
There is no healthy plants only diet for us.
      We are all omnivores.
Why do you use animal products needlessly while only pretending to be against it?

Yeah, she was never vegan. Just plant-based. And it’s crazy that she was so excited to eat the carcass from her boyfriend.

I think the source of the food is really important!!! I still don’t eat almost any animal products because I don’t have the resources to get animal products I feel comfortable eating. But when I do I will also start eating more animal products. 🤍
