Shamika Ravi's submissions were more insightful; Arvind Subramanian's concerns were very high-level, detached, almost academic. His point GDP numbers being off to the point of being ununderstandable needs to be fixed though.

The difference is like getting marks in exam and actually knowing the subject. Gdp can be cooked up, misleading in many number of ways. Satellite data tells us the real activity going on on the ground. China has a similar problem. Its GDP data doesn't corroborate the satellite data. China has cooked up its GDP data to no bounds.

The Challenge of Interpreting Economic Growth: Shamika Ravi's Perspective
[00:02] Government's portrayal of economic growth questioned
      - Private investment numbers may reveal true economic health
      - Approaches of macroeconomists and microeconomists differ in analyzing the economy
[00:53] Understanding the efficiency of FDI in the Indian economy
      - Examining the percentage of GDP attributed to FDI and its trends over time.
      - Delving deeper into the nuances to analyze the impact on the economy's growth potential.
[01:40] Challenges in private investments due to policy shocks
      - Policy shocks like retrospective tax and annulled allocations hindered private confidence
      - Recent growth in private investments is a long-term recovery from past disastrous policies
[02:42] Satellite data reveals growth in smallest, least developed parts of the country.
      - Visualizations show annualized growth rate of builtup surfaces across parliamentary constituencies from 2010 to 2015.
      - Darker colors suggest higher growth of builtup surface areas.
[03:36 European commission satellite data reveals growth in small and underdeveloped areas.
      - The data covers parliamentary constituencies and subdistricts, showing built-up areas as a proxy for economic activity.
      - The data indicates an 18% increase in economic activity over a 5-year period.
[04:29 Growth in least developed parts revealed by satellite data
      - Satellite data reveals a 30% growth difference in early epoch
      - Efficiency in international money usage and government spending leads to higher multiplier effect
[05:19]) Economic activity accelerating on the ground
      - Discussion on the impact of government actions on growth
      - Highlighting the growth rate from 2015 to 2020 at 3-3.5%
[06:18]Achievements and failures in the last 10-15 years are cumulative and bipartisan.
      - The jam Trinity is an example of a bipartisan achievement, with seeds sown in the previous government.
      - Focus should be on the government's needs, path, and deficiencies, rather than engaging in political bickering.

Is it economic activities or construction activities? Generally, politicians prefer construction activities as they can expect commission and donation to their parties from contractors. Also, public money can be spent easily.

@@durga4294 Unfortunately, often it stops with infrastructure creation. Further activities may not be lucrative for politicians. Also, at present, the government is not interested in starting establishments in the public sector. Private sector is not finding much profitable options either.

After sowing, need to nurture it, water it, apply manure, protect it from weeds and pests, which the UPA never did, they allowed pests and parasites to develop while the seeds suffered growing up. NDA took care and saw that the seeds grew into tree and started bearing fruits😂😂
