    Can you do a video on how to groom a puppy? So they get used to it, how to hold them etc?

    Thank you so much. I have a powder puff and I has always just trimmed with scissors. Never understood other videos. I think I can follow your video. Thank you for the clear calm example.

    This was SO helpful - thank you! I have had two PP CCs, but I had them shaved down to a hairless CC style because I didn't know how to care for their long hair. They kept getting tangles and mats and I didn't know what to do about them. I am adopting another PP CC as a puppy, and I would love to keep her hair long, so this is helping me learn more about how to do that, especially as a puppy, getting her used to a routine, baths, brushing, etc.

      You are welcome! Believe me, I was a groomer and fully intended to keep my puff long but the reality changed and that's okay. It is okay to change your mind or go back and forth. What are some other grooming struggles you have or things you want to learn?

      @@zendog.fearlessgrooming I'm pretty comfortable in giving them baths and I got a brush with the longer pins to reach all the way down through their top coat to brush them properly. I was really only nervous about shaving the neck, face and ears. I shaved down my puppy's ears to help the tape adhere for her ears to post.

    Love the pillow trick, this dog looks much less stressed than dogs in other grooming videos i have seen

      Yes that is always my primary goal! Thank you for pointing that out. My little puff used to be quite fearful of grooming even though she didn't become reactive. She actually shut down and would refuse treats. Do you have a pup at home to try the pillow trick with?

      @@zendog.fearlessgrooming i don't have one that needs ear trimming, but the concept is transferable to other situations : )

    Why is the neck/throat area shaved? Is it just to meet the look of the breed standard? Thanks.

    Jen could you make a video for the proper way to groom a PPCC to a "pony cut"?

      Hi Karen. I'm glad you found this video helpful. I did shave Luna into a pony cut but was not able to film that day. She is growing her coat out again for the winter that is coming up. When I shave her again I will be sure to film it. Do you have a puff or going to get one?

      @@zendog.fearlessgrooming Yes I do have a puff. I recently posted on the CC group on Facebook. My groomer gave my puppy a mullet and rounded of the hair on his back like a poodle for his first groom lol. I would like to be able to refer her to a place where she can learn the proper cut. :)

    Hi i like your videos. Could you explain why you clip the hair on the face? I am wondering also with poodles. Isn't it any problem because of the whiskers? I have a havanese and i try to keep his hair on the face a little shorter but he hates it to have them cut because of his whiskers.

    • @anette-ze1sf
      @anette-ze1sf ปีที่แล้ว

      i just learned that it's forbidden to cut the whiskers at all, at least in Germany and Austria. Don't know about other countries.
