A frequent critique of the of the KC 120 is the limited volume. I have one and I have seen that too. However, the other night I was playing with some pedals that offered a strong boost to the signal. The KC tolerated this well with little distortion other than an occasional clip on the bass and delivered a lot louder volume. I'd be willing to bet that some boost reduces the battery life, but louder is more good 😄 Try one at a store and see. I've also noticed that the batteries start delivering lower volumes all the way to being too drained. Fresh batteries are key to volume too.

So, for a stereo amp for home use with a synth & drum machine, which would be better, this amp or a Roland Jazz Chorus 22?

Its a good amplifier but piano sounds are very hard to reproduce.
I personally find that my Fender Passport 150 has a better sound for the piano samples.when connected on the stereo .

xDannyx Yes. It says keyboard amp because its stereo and its range is appropriate for keyboards.

With an amp effect system you could. Though no effect is a substitute for a real guitar amp when used for guitar!

Battery powered Amps... YUK ! My matched Peavey keyboard amps, giver BETTER stereo seperation, and feature 18" blackwidow speakers that reach the low notes down to 37 hz. They connect ...via XLR to the peavey graphic equaliser, for complete control, and I'd bet ...they'd blow `this BATTERY amp, off it's goofy stand !
