Boy, this is an old video!! Three-piece suits? I really miss the old days, getting to see the Oaks perform live every year, at the Puyallup Fair, when front-row seats were $10.00!! If you haven't seen them perform live, you don't know what you're missing!😊💒
I miss those days, I saw all the old country acts at a local country music park for 10.00 $ a person as a kid. My mom paid for me and my sister and it was like 30 to 40$ depending on if my dad or aunt went with us. I saw Waylon, Loretta. Dolly, Conway, Oak Ridge boys, George, Tammy, Alabama, etc, etc, etc. and a million more . I was so lucky, I wish I knew that country would one day suck and cost 200$ a ticket. I would have savored the moment even as a kid.
Mobile Alabama loves The Oakridge Boys...especially William Lee Golden...a PROUD Brewton Alabama man... Brewton Alabama is about 70 miles north of Mobile Alabama.
Golden was really good looking, when he dressed nicely, before his Mountain Man genesis. Such a fun group, they really get into the music, love their songs!
@@Cliffielee I did write to a month ago and stated the same facts, and somehow it all got deleted. Anyway I was a fan of Steve's as a gospel singer from the late 60's. I was so sad he took his life, a great talent. UR kind, thx you!
On this day in 1978 {January 29th} a covered version of "You're The One"* by the Oak Ridge Boys peaked at #2 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart, the two records that kept it out of the top spot were "Out of My Head and Back In My Bed" by Loretta Lynn and "I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love" by Larry Gatlin... Between 1976 and 1999 the Oak Ridge Boys had forty-four records on the Hot Country Singles chart, thirty-three made the Top 10 with seventeen reaching #1, they just missed having three more #1 records when their "Sail Away" {1979}, "I Wish You Could Have Turned My Head" {1982} and the above "You're The One" all peaked at #2... * The original version of "You're The One" was recorded by Glen Campbell, it was track two on side two on his 1973 album 'I Knew Jesus (Before He Was A Star)', the album reached #13 on Billboard's Hot Country Albums chart... And from the 'For What It's Worth' department, the remainder of the Top 10 on January 29th, 1978: At #3. "To Daddy" by Emmylou Harris #4. "I Just Wish You Were Someone I Love" by Larry Gatlin #5. "Don't Break The Heart That Loves You" by Margo Smith #6. "What A Difference You Made In My Life" by Ronnie Milsap #7. "What Did I Promise Her Last Night" by Mel Tillis #8. "Middle Age Crazy" by Jerry Lee Lewis #9. "Something To Brag About" by Mary Kay Place #10. "Woman To Woman" by Barbara Mandrell

@@Cliffielee WRONG. This is Golden. At mark 33 Joe even says "Sing it Bill". Steve has blond hair. But you do know that, from before.
@@estelleadamski308 After extensive research, it is WLG....Thanks for correcting me.

Classy
WLG your so beautiful
RIP Joe Bonsall
Thank u for this gem 🙏♥️
Big ORB fan here, but why didn't Richard get a close-up on his solo? Too many wide shots in this clip.
Because you were there to direct the video haha
Camera is too far sometimes like birds eye view. But color is good not blurry.
I thought the same…but considering how old it is, it’s amazing quality
Reminds me of my friend of 16 years.
1973 maybe 1974
I still have there 8 track. LOL

Yes it a bit too far from them like birds eye view but color is good not blurry.
I thought that too.. was wondering if they were lip syncing and the camera was intentionally far away so as to catch any errors
@@brandonmuir8944I thought maybe too, but watching the two close up solos of William and Duane - looks like they are singing.
