Thank you for this! I just had an issue this morning where my washer wasn't draining... turns out it was sock stuck in the pump... I never would have known this was possible unless I checked out your video. Cheers to $ saved!!
Whenever you are connecting the new motor, I noticed the 120v plug is on the front rather than the back like the original motor was. If there is ever a leak from either of the hoses, would that cause any kind of fires, electrical issues if it got on the universal motor plug-in since the plug-in is flipped and directly under the hoses?
So I removed my drain pump and had no obstructions anywhere. The blade inside will spin but jumps to the next position and stops. Like it clicks forward half a turn. Is that supposed to happen? Thanks!!
I'm a little late to this post but if I am replacing the motor ONLY, do I have to figure out how to get the water out of the washer?? I am thinking if the hoses are still connected that maybe the water won't come out. Ugh...
Hey you dud good explaining and showing how toinstall the part, but you stated the after market drain is UNIVERSAL AND IT IS NOT!!! I HAVE A WASHER FULL OF WATER NOW AND HAVE TO FIGURE OUT HIW TO GET RID OF ALL THIS WATER WITHOUT FLOODING MY NEW HOUSE TO RETURN THIS WRONG PART THAT YOU SAID FITS UNIVERSALLY GE. YOU DID VERY GOOD OTHER THAN TELLING PEOPLE UNIVERSAL. WE HAVECNI EXPERIENCE AND YOU HELPED BUT HURT MORE!!
The only thing that goes bad is the motor in this video prove it to you and no it’s easier to replace just the motor if we talk about what is best is to replace the whole pump but for the customer is cheaper to replace just the motor thanks for your comment.
@@DIYRepairsNowhi my GE washer was fine before I cleaned the pump. Now when I start the new cycle the water start to fill the drum and right out to the drain hose that go to the water pump and out to the drain. What causing the water to stay in the drum instead of just come out through the drain hose that is connected to the pump. Thanks.

When connecting the wires into the new pump, do I have to install them a certain way? Not sure which wire goes where if so.

Thanks very much for the video I just repair my washer and got lot of kisses from my wife 🥰
I used the link for the after market pump motor. Is it supposed to get hot to the touch after a drain cycle?
Boss I have the same washer. But is not turning on, do you think it might be the motor? Also I’ve checked the outlet and it’s working proper.
Thank you for this video!!

Why didn’t you replace the motor when the whole unit was out, wouldn’t it be easier
