- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 20 ม.ค. 2025
- In this video we compare the @sigsauerinc M18 and the new @sigsauerinc P320 AXG Scorpion. The AXG Scorpion is the first offering from Sig's newly formed Custom Works shop. But is it worth almost 2x the money over the M18? What are your thoughts? I look forward to your comments. Thank you for stopping by and God Bless.

I got the scorpion axg and it’s the best p320 by far. It’s close to becoming my favorite sig.
Great video! I appreciate your honesty and I also agree with your closing statements.
I appreciate your kind words. Thank you very much for watching.
Ordered an Icarus SOCOM grip for my M18 that right now has the Wilson Combat grip - good options to have - a noticeable difference in grip rather than just weight.
I’ve been curious about the Icarus products but I have never tried them. Thank you for sharing and for watching.
I owned a Scorpion AXG as my first and only P320 in my Sig collection. I would buy an M18 to add on to my collection if I could find one in my local gun stores. Liked your video regarding the two triggers comparison.
Thank you very much for watching. I appreciate it.
I have the M18, shoots great. I was just looking at the Wilson combat grip, so looks like I’ll be picking that up. Great review, My next sig will be the AXG PRO.
The Wilson Combat grip module makes a huge difference. Great upgrade for very little money. Last week I uploaded a video on the AXG Pro. Thank you very much for watching.
I Wanted the AXG, but couldn't see myself paying double the price just for a metal frame when polymer works just as good!! Not to mention I was able to buy another gun so got 2 guns for the price of one!! Can't wait to get my X compact!!
Love the X-compact. Not a fan of the x-grip (too wide for my hand)... but a lot of people say the aftermarket grips are good. I actually much prefer the subcompact grip over the x-compact grips.
Love the SIG scorpion AXG one of the finest firearms by far…!
Trigger smooths out on AXG. Great shooter. Prefer metal to polymer feel. My edc, all day everyday.
I appreciate the comment. Thank you very much for watching.
I want one but two things are holding me up. Weight for EDC. And wanting to baby it since it's so nice
Regarding weight, that’s a personal preference and what your frame can carry comfortably. Please remember that I just saw that you carry every day just a tool for self-defense. You should practice with it often and should not be babied as a collectors piece. Just my two cents. Thank you for watching.
@@siprebcard561 Awesome gun... but def not for EDC in my opinion. Wouldn't sell my EDC to get one, that's for sure.
Same, just got one and I cannot keep my hands off it.
Another great comparison. Thanks. Neither one is a reason for me to replace my Staccato C, but if I had to select one, it would have to be the M18 with the Wilson grip module. But I'd have to replace the sights with Hackathorn sights that would co-witness with the RMR. And maybe get the Wilson grip module in aluminum. And maybe......Oh, never mind. I'll stick to my Staccato.
Copy that! Thank you so much for watching.
P Duo here and I love it
I bought a new AXG 5 months ago just to tuck aways as an investment, but it looks like that wont pan out.
I hope it does, but Sig is cranking them out. My local store has 4 of them in the display case. Thanks for watching!
I wanted a Scorpion so bad but they were discontinued. I wound up putting an AXG grip module on an M 18.
They are pretty sweet! Thank you for stopping by.
Damn, I can't find a picture of the threaded holes beneath the plate anywhere (like the eyes on a fly you were talking about). Only finding a couple of their older optic cuts.
I'm told that's on the newer M18s.
I have a SIG 320 Xvtac with a AGX grip module it's my favorite full size carry
I have a P320 Nitron Compact with the Wilson Combat grip and I love it. I would like to feel the AXG, but to spend $400 on just a grip module is steep.
Even though it’s metal, that is a steep price for the grip module. Although it is very comfortable. Thank you for watching.
Hey great video! I was surprised to see that part about the trigger…I’m liking that Scorpion, but I was bummed about that trigger.
Me too. For the $$, the trigger was just meh... Personal opinion, but that's how I feel about it. The rest of the gun (less the engraving) is awesome.
Sold my p320 x carry for my axg spent $1500 for it and i can say it is a perfect upgrade i was looking for in a already beautiful gun axg 💪🏾
Same. have it too. its the best 🔥 💯 👌
That new AXG Pro (full size) is really begging me to buy it. lol
I handled one the other day it’s pretty sweet looking.
Paying more doesn’t always mean that you will get more. The real differentiator is how well it shots. I seriously doubt you will see any one out perform the other.
I agree with you, however in this case, I do shoot the AXG quite a bit better. Thank you very much for watching!
Thank you so much for answering my question!!! I’m going to buy the sig m18 but i was thinking about the scorpion. Now I know what to get. God bless you brother
Happy to help but please keep in mind that my opinions are just that - my opinions. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa. For me, the M 18 with the Wilson Combat grip module is fantastic. Thank you very much for watching and may God bless you as well.
My m-18 was manufactured December 2021 and it does not have the RMR cut. The salesman at the gun shop was curious, but pretty certain management would frown upon us tearing down the m-18 slide to find out. Considering an AXG Pro or just getting a 3.9 inch pro cut slide from sig to match my M-18. Thanks for the great videos!
From the store, call Sig with the serial number. Within minutes they’ll be able to tell you if that particular M 18 it’s cut for an RMR or not. I don’t know if it makes a difference to you or not, but remember that the AXG Pro is not a Custom Shop gun. You are very welcome and thank you for watching!
You got a Christmas eve item that performs BETTER than the upgraded version? I wish the builders identification was noted for each pistol off the line. I would only buy from that particular assembler.
Hey Sig, take note.
That would be a nice piece of information to have so you can look for the pistol. Thank you for stopping by.
I have a M18 with the Wilson combat grip lower. I absolutely love the Wilson combat grip. It fits perfectly in my hands and as you stated I have the option of adding titanium weight if I would like.On my M18 I also added the skeleton trigger and the customer works slide. The trigger has been phenomenal and the slide has windows on the the side which lowers the recoil of the slide for more accuracy. The slide accepts sigs optics and Delta point pro, which is what I decided to mount. Finally with the custom works slide I was able to still mount the suppressor sights to co witness. In my opinion I would never trade in my M18 for a Scorpion. If anyone is interested I can attach pics? Just let me know.
Sounds like a sweet set up. Thank you very much for sharing it with us and for watching.
Does the Wilson grips hold the 21 rnd magazines?
I have a M18 with Bobro RMR adapter. The adapter has integral rear sight, combined with a Dawson's tritium suppressor height front sight it allows for a lower 1/3rd co witness. The Bobro adapter also has a LCI delete this helps to eliminate blow back on the rmr lense. You can also install the straight trigger on the M18 and do a manual safety delete if you wanted. M18 for the win.
That sounds like a sweet set up. I haven’t seen it. Thank you very much for sharing.
Very helpful information
Thank you for watching.
My answer would be buying the AXG grip module by itself and removing the manual safety so I wouldn't have to modify the aluminum grip.
I've never listened to someone with an Amish accent for so long. 👍
I have the m18 with WCG. I also have the grey guns x carry grip module with laser stippling. I switch back and forth and love both. No I wouldnt trade my M18 ever I love it. The Scorpion isnt available anymore but the AXG classic is I got my eyes on one.
Purchased the M18 from the exchange at Parris Island. It was a group purchase of the W coded (like Glock blue label pricing) M series Sig 320's. I'm a Glock fan boy but this Sig is making me re-evaluate that status. My all time most accurate 9mm handgun has been a Beretta 92. This M18 is very very close to "as" accurate. The trigger surpasses any Glock I own with or without reworked triggers. I personally will not change a thing on this handgun. I also probably will not use the thumb safety. I may engage during charging indoors and holstering but it will ride in the holster with safety off. My 92 is a G decocker only. Out of the case it was zeroed for me and my 124gr carry load. It has been 100% reliable also. I don't see any need for an optic on a handgun as it's only a backup to my long gun so the plate will just stay put. Holsters are on their way from Alien Gear. My G26 will always be my EDC for CCW but for belt carry the M18 and 92 will take turns. You gotta try one of these guns.............
I have the P320 compact in FDE with the Wilson combat carry grip module also in FDE. I added the Wilson combat tungsten weights. I also have 2-21 round M18 magazines, 1-17 round M18 magazine, and 2-10 round magazines. I also have the black Wilson combat carry grip module so I am getting the black P320.
They are very nice shooting pistols. I love the Wilson combat grip module. Thank you very much for watching.
Which grip module feels better in the hand? I have a Wilson Combat for my m18, but tempted to pick up an AXG for when I get a different slide and barrel setup.
I really like both of them. The Wilson Combat is hard to beat for the money. But, if I had to choose one, I would choose the AXG. Thank you very much for stopping by.
How can you do a head to head without shooting both guns so your viewers can see how they truly stack up?
Because it was only a table top comparison. Thank you very much for watching.
Thabks sir
It's July 2023 .. I bought a sig m18
And really like it.
Only 150rds so far, but no malfunctions.. I prefer it over the Scorpion.
Why do you prefer it over the Scorpion? I’d really like to know. Thank you very much for watching.

One is price. Two, if I damage a polymer frame, no big deal. New one is $75.00

What are your thoughts on a Wilson combat SIGWCP320F9B P320
They look gorgeous. I would love to get my hands on one but have yet to see one. Thank you for watching.
Where did you get that odg-ish Wilson module? I've only seen lighter tan color that's ugly
Straight from the Wilson Combat web store.
I'm seriously looking at the AXG mainly for the slide design of the red dot milling. I hate losing the rear sight and the pain in the ass way you remove the plate on the m18. Also that Aluminum frame has better ergos imho for people with smaller hands or short finger reach, the latter being my issue.
The AXG has a fantastic grip module. But let me tell you, that Wilson Combat grip module is pretty darn good as well. Thank you very much for watching.
I do believe that this year’s sig p320 has rmr cut. I got one with Romeo 1 Pro installed, has both iron sights and both leupold and rmr cut. It’s about 899. And it’s always easy to sell Romeo 1 pro and get a rmr
Well they are discontinued now 🤔
Do they make an axg with a Manila safety cut for the m18? If not, maybe a gunsmith can modify it.
I’m sorry but I don’t know the answer to that. Thank you very much for watching.
@@MDpolo thanks for replying. It’s a misspelled word, it’s supposed to be “an axg with manual safety not Manila” 😂
😂 happens to me all the time. I have not seen one with a safety. Cheers!
Hi, I just saw your post in the AXG vs.the M18. It is June 6th. I would really want to know what your thoughts are with the new AXG classic. It has the curved trigger that you find good and no safety. Please let me know if you can find one to review.
Hello. Check out my recent videos. I uploaded a video on the classic last Monday.
Do the 21 extended mags fit both
I have not tried that.
@@MDpolo I've been looking and have not seen any with the extended and if you see one with it can you let me know
Which grip module do you prefer? The WC or AXG?
That’s a tough call. I love the Wilson Combat group module but I like the ability to exchange the panels on the AXG. But if pressed for a decision, I would have to go with the Wilson Combat. Thank you very much for watching.
@@MDpolo I currently use the Wilson Combat but was curious if the AXG was worth the cost.
I think I'll buy the m18 and take the thumb safety out and drop that trigger into the AXG grip module. I'm wondering if the M18 slide will fit on the AXG.
Good question. I haven’t tried that. Thank you very much for watching.
How about that? I just picked up a m18 last Sunday. Fired it for the first time yesterday and put 50 flawless rounds through it! I am impressed! In short, you can buy whatever you and your wallet can stand but few will ever require more than the m18. However either way, you have a Sig and are well armed.
You are correct in stating that either way you are well armed. All a matter of personal preference and budget. What’s important is that we are armed. Thank you very much for stopping by.
I own a Sig m18 it's a reliable, soft shooting and very accurate. I love the Axg Scorpion the metal lower, flat trigger, upgraded sights and the red dot mounting is easier. I would never sell my M18 but the Axg Scorpion is very nice.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for watching. I appreciate it.
Any pros and cons you've found?
@@realtalk4real243 cons with my Sig M18 I really don't have any. I really take good care of my weapon and in return it has worked flawlessly. When I fin cleaning my m18 it looks absolutely beautiful. I am really happy with my purchase.
@@realtalk4real243 the cons of the m18- the red dot cut sucks, you lose rear buis sights, etc. the scorpion is leaps and bounds better in this department and every other in my opinion
I have 2 P320s. For me the best option is a stock carry model and do your own work on it. I had my slide milled by Jagerworks to accept my red dot sight and bought new sights. added a apex trigger. when you add it all up it is cheaper then the AXG and is a nicer handgun.
That is the genius behind the P320 system. Legos for gun owners. Thank you for watching!
Actually what Sig said was they will be up for order for a limited time then they will manufacture to meet that demand
I’m sorry but that’s not what Sig told me directly. Thank you very much for watching.
I see that the mag release AXG is a circle And the regular P320 is triangle.. That will mean purchasing for the special model will cost more?
My apologies but I’m not understanding your question. Are you asking if the AXG costs more?
@@MDpolo no what I was stating the different shape of the magazine release would not be common there for cost more if you switch modular grip on the P320.
Good point!
@@MDpolo you are correct thanks for the response and most of all taking the time to film and share the knowledge :)
My pleasure. Thank you!
I have an x-carry with AXG grip and skeleton trigger. Basically a poor man’s scorpion
I would keep your M18 and get the Icuris grip module. Great video.
I’ll take a look at the grip modules you mentioned. The Wilson Combat feels pretty sweet. Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to watch.
@@MDpolo NY only modular Sig is the P250 which they abandoned. I would like to build a AXG style pistol from parts. With new Firearms definition, it might be 3 guns.
Indeed. That sounds like a fun project.
Man the only SIG I’ve ever owned is the 365 family! But something about that all steel frame I have to get one
You can also buy that gas pedal for this one
I have a SIG M17 and a P320 compact. Haven't had the chance to fondle an AXG Scorpion yet, but it would have to be next level awesome to get me to budge out of my current SIG's. On the other hand, the AXG Classic has definitely popped up on my radar screen.
Thank you very much for watching.
$999 Still making them. Its nice for sure.
Other than the safety & the curved trigger and aluminum frame on the AXG ,same gun
After shooting allmost 1100 rounds through my Sig M18 the trigger is soooooooo smooth I see no reason to change my trigger. Also no malfunctions of any kind.
Yeah, mine has been 100% reliable as well. Thank you very much for watching
Unfortunately every FCU trigger varies. I own 7 and they all feel differently. Some less mush than others, some no mush. It's a striker fire thing I've heard.
Regrettably yes it is. Thank you very much for watching and for taking the time to comment.
Is one more inherently accurate than the other ?
I seem to group better with the ASG Scorpion. I attributed it to the weight of the pistol. It just seems to be more sturdy in my hand. Thank you very much for watching.
so funny...the AXG Scorpion as of today 07/13/2024 can be bought for under 1000.00 at any Bass Pro. Can also be bought for less than 950.00 on other sites.
I think their value came down because the AXG grip and the skeleton trigger can be bought separately. The scorpion g-10 grip is a love or hate, and I hate the look of it.
I have the new sig p320 axg equinox and I think it is the best p320 out there.
If an individual is to choose between these two with no other options, I'd say go with the steel (aluminum) gun. Now, if the question was...you have $1000-$1200 to go buy a custom handgun, what are you going to get?. I'd definitely veer away from sig and (although they aren't available at this time), I'd go with Ernest Langdon's LTT Beretta Centurion 92 with all Nib controls and his new milling for a Trijicon RMR. Or a Wilson Combat Beretta 92 Centurion. I realize I'd most likely have to throw a couple hundred at the Langdon, but it'd be all over this sig "custom shop" smush trigger. So, there ya go! Great vid as always and a great day to you Mr. Mdpolo, and friends. Peace!
I agree with you. I would go with an LTT all day long. Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to watch my videos. I appreciate it! God bless.
Own both nd love em both
Thank you for watching.
I love thé AXG grip but i have an M18 and a Wilson Combat grip and I wouldn’t sell mine M18 for the scorpion. I can add weight to my M18 and I can buy a flat trigger. Also unpopular opinion but I like the safety on my M18.
Thank you very much for stopping by and for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it!
I like your M18 better. Seems like a better gun overall.
How heavy is the scorpion compared to a Glock 19? The Sigs are beautiful and I have owned them in the past.... but they were really heavy.
I have not put the Glock 19 on the scale versus the Scorpion. But there’s no doubt that the G19 is substantially lighter. Thank you for watching.
Online says the AXG is 31.5oz unloaded, 38.5oz loaded and the G19 is 24.8oz unloaded, 31.8oz loaded. (Damn, bullets are heavier than I thought).
@@deucedeuce1572 ... thanks for the info, I appreciate your help.
I love my Scorpion AXG.(yes keep it) However if you want to save "some or little" money buy the AXG grip module from Sig. Module still a little pricey. Unfortunately the only color available now is black but will work with the color slide you have. I use that module on my builds. As always you have great content! 👍
Thank you very much my friend I appreciate you watching and your comment. Let me tell you that the Wilson Combat grip module on the M 18 feels fantastic.
I own both and wouldn’t sale either, as far as the trigger is concerned the axg is much much better. Not sure if the FCU is any different in others but for me it’s no comparison. My m18 will definitely be my sidearm of choice when shtf, I just feel more at ease throwing it at someone when I’m out of ammo haha.
I hear you! Thank you very much for watching.
I like that scorpion kind of like raw dogging over the m18
They are both very nice. Cheers!
I'll take the manual safety model. If those cops who had accidental misfires had manuel safeties it wouldn't have happened. pistols don't just fire for no reason.
I really like that they made the AXG with SIG P-series grip and not the P320 or P320X grip. Not a fan of either of those, but really like the P-series grip (like the P226). Love that the grip is aluminum too... but it kills me that they're $400. You can get the Icarus Precision grips for $200, but even that seems too expensive for a grip frame (with no FCU).
I’m ready to sell my decked out G17 mos for that,, I would pay anything for a scorpion size 365XL
That would be cool.
I own the 320 AXG, bought the wilson grip. Much prefer the metal frame. That said if i owned any prior p320 i would just buy the axg grip from sig. If optic cut is an issue om the m18 but an after market. I purchased the reptile by norsso and love it. Also agency arms has their patented slide cut to accept any RDS on the market. My point, if you own a p320 fire control group build the gun you want dont buy a seperate sig p320. Thats the point of that model. Customize
Well said. Thank you very much for watching!
Do all their slide cuts have screw holes in the bottom of the slide that jam up on the disconnector? (Like the X-compact). I think that's one of their greatest design flaws ever (even worse than the original P320's without the disconnector).
@@deucedeuce1572 the slide that came on the scorpion axg had top mount screw holes. The slide by norsso does too. I believe all new sig made p320 slides are top mount and can accept several types of RDS. The RMR, DPP, R1P, HOLOSUN etc.
@@user-jv4ic8rh4d ...so they don't have the holes under the slide to interfere with the disconnector? I really hope that's the case. I just don't understand how they could have missed that... and to make it worse, there's no simple fix that I can see that could fix it without increasing the chance of failure (like the extractor jamming or things like that, as the disconnector is on the same side as the extractor). If the disconnector was on the opposite side, it would be a simple fix with a filler screw.
@@user-jv4ic8rh4d Actually wish I knew someone with a brand new subcompact slide, cuz I would gladly trade an x-compact slide (and a lot of people would choose the x-compact slide, so they can use an optic).
I just picked one up for 1300 kinda high but oh well its pretty awesome
$1300 is expensive, but considering that I’ve seen them online for $1800 all the way to $2200. You did OK. Thank you for watching. I hope you enjoy your pistol.
Don’t worry I just grabbed mine for $1500 today😫
So I did okay for $980 then?
@@brianjones1385 u got a steal
Yes. I haven’t seen one at that price level.
this isnt a fair comparison.. its apples and oranges. its two different guns that utilize some of the same parts and some of the same geometry... but two completely different firing experiences.
That’s the point. Two different firing experiences - so which one would you choose and why?
Sig is relying on mostly artificial FOMO with the AXG and is (IMO) not worth the asking price.
You can buy the black AXG frame for $350 so yeah ion see that gun being worth $1300!! Most guys will but it just for bragging rights... crazy but most people think you gotta have the most expensive gun/Knive if not it's junk lol most I spent on one gun was $900 the FN 509 tactical... nice gun but a $400-$500 gun is good enough, unless your the type that cares what people think and just like to show off you got there most expensive gun, end of the day if it goes bang when you needed it to and only cost you $300 you got a good gun, no criminal or person is gone honestly laugh if you point a hi point at them nobody!!!!
I own the M18 with the Wilson Combat grip just as pictured. And I also purchased the AXG Scorpion, not because it's a limited edition, but because of the feel in my hand. Who says you should sell one for the other, or only choose one? This is America, you can own both. Shop around. Stop patronizing the scalpers on Gunbroker. Calm down, and the prices will settle.
It was simply a mental exercise. If you had to choose - which one would you choose? If you can own both, fantastic! Thank you for watching.
Sell? Who sells firearms. Even if I don't like them I still keep them haha. Never sold a one never will.
When you run a gun channel and need to provide fresh content, at times you need to let some of them go. Thank you very much for watching.
@@MDpolo that's understandable. Keep up the great content
Thank you!
AXG all day !!!!!!!
Why TF would I sell my M18 for a safety-less P320? They're 100% modular. If I decided to drop $400 on a grip module I would just take the safety off. Or I'll cut out a slot for it in the grip module and boom, I've got a custom M18 AXG with a manual safety.
Modularity is the beauty of this system. Thank you very much for watching.
The beauty of the P320 series is you can change so much up on them...I have the AXG but I plan to get the X-Compact grip module when I want deeper concealment and go to 15 rounds
You’re going to have an all-around sweet set up. Thank you very much for taking the time to watch. I appreciate it.
Having shot them (triggers) side by side I prefer the curved trigger to the flat one.
I would keep the m18 anything made by Wilson is better IMO!
Let me tell you, that Wilson Combat grip module on the M 18 feels fantastic. Thank you so much for watching.
Just get the AXG and buy the Wilson grip frame!! You’ll have the perfect BBQ gun on the weekends and the perfect combat gun on the week days! That’s the only reason I’m getting one. I can dress it up or down depending on my surroundings.
yet another review saying the scorpion has an aluminum frame , it doesn't , it has a stainless steel frame and slide , and a carbon steel barrel.
And this is the first somewhat negative review of the scorpion I've seen . Most everyone else loves the scorpion
If you look at the Sig website, all they tell you is that it is an “alloy” grip module. The Sig rep that I spoke to told me that it is an aluminum alloy grip module. If you have better info, thank you for sharing it. Would you please send me the link where you learned that the grip module is stainless steel? I would appreciate it. Yes, the barrel is carbon steel. And yes, this was somewhat of a negative review because that’s my opinion of it. That’s what you’re going to get in my channel - what my experiences is and my honest opinion. Thank you for watching.
@@MDpolo The. Side panels on the grips might be aluminum but the frame is stainless steel.
Sigsauer.com/firearms/pistols/p320-axg-scorpion.html
I see the confusion. What Sig calls the “frame” is the chasis of the removable fire control unit. That is stainless steel. What you see on the outside below the slide is aluminum alloy.
@@MDpolo I might be wrong too , I thought " FRAME " meant " Frame of the firearm " , not Frame of the fire control unit.
Most manufacturers define it the way you are saying it. For the P320 series, Sig refers to the “frame” as the chasis. Weird but that’s what they do.
M18 ✔️
M18 all day
I paid 999.00 plus 20 ship
I like mine. I should have bought another Glock or a shadow systems 920 though. For $1000 the trigger on the axg is trash for sure. On the other hand it shoots great despite trigger and it sure does look great!
I think the grip module is fantastic on the AXG. Thank you very much for watching.
X same gun
Something about your voice/ tone kills me. I’ve tried twice and each time I’ve dozed off. I’m like a baby taking a car ride. No more videos for you lololol
I hope you enjoyed your nap.
I think the AXG Pro is better than both of these.
It might be. However it depends what “better“ means. I believe the AXG Pro was designed for a different task than these two. Thanks for watching.
Definitely a over priced gun. Its great but definitely has no business being sold at $1800+
Totally agree. Thank you very much for watching.
Both of these guns are overpriced. With all the current offerings and the tremendous value you are able to get for the money you spend today I won't buy either. I own arex zero 1 tactical which I'm putting in a flat trigger replacing the grips and doing new guiderod and springs for recoil reduction and I will be thrilled and still spent less than the m18! Yes I got the arex zero 1 for an unbelievable price of 425 brand new. They only had one at that sales price and I snatched it as quick as I could pull out my wallet.
