I think we left out a clip in the video and want to pin this note: The area we trash pick in has no thrift stores at all so we think that’s a contributing factor as to why there’s so much out on bulk trash day. While we do agree with many people that these items could definitely be given to shelters, we try not to judge - you never know what’s going on in someone’s life that may lead them to tossing their belongings. Instead we look at it as an opportunity to save some things from the landfill and have some fun at the same time! There are also A LOT of other pickers on the road saving items, so do know that a good amount gets saved. Thanks so much for watching ♥️

So fun! My daughter, when she was 12, used to hate when we were driving and I see a pile. She was so embarrassed. Now she's 17 and she gets out to help. Sometimes I have to tell her we can't get something cuz she wants it all. Specially if we go to Goodwill. She's obsessed with afghans.

Just can't understand why people don't donate these items! In my area, we can call the local thrift store and they will come pick it up! And the closest thrift store is 2 towns over. Thanks for helping keep items out of the landfills!

We get post cards in the mail from a animal rescue group, the Veterans, and others looking for donations of Clothing, toys, housewares, books, etc… they schedule a pick-up date to get your items. Great finds girls!
It always saddens me to see how much stuff that is new or useable that people throw out. These items should be donated to a charity for distribution or resale. Thank you for doing your part to reduce the items in land fills. Always amazed at the great items you find.

Good haul, I haven't gone picking since Covid began, but I am ready to return. I know you can't take everything, but that treasure chest is vintage. My brother received one for Easter in 1974.
The library will take all those books and what they don't want they will sends over to Friends of the Library, in turn sells them. In my area it's a popular event several times a year. I don't understand why the owners can't do that instead of putting them out to be ruined. Such a waste.

If you guys ever run across luggage or large duffel bags for free, or really cheap. Would you consider donating them to DHS for foster kids. Thousands of kids get shuffled from home to home with all their belongings in trash bags.
I am very glad you guys saved some items. I love the Build a T-Rex kit and the train that could book! You left a Lion King Vintage plush worth $20 and the Treasure Chest I sold the same thing for $30.

Yeah it breaks my heart to see all that stuff that people can get rid of like the barber chairs and other items that could be sold by anybody really. Did you guys ever think about getting some kind of strap or harness for your camera so you can use both hands eventually. Or make one yourself.It would really help you out and give you hands-free on picking up items and going through stuff. Glad to see you guys are out picking trash it’s one of my favorite things to watch
OK I’m commenting as I watch it otherwise I’ll forget stuff lol you know what I wish you guys would have done is on the chairs gone and knocked on the door and ask them if they would hold onto those chairs for you until you get your new truck lol. I’m assuming you’re gonna get a truck that’s the smartest thing to do with what you guys enjoy. And I bet they would’ve held onto them for you and especially if they knew you would reupholster or take care of them. The chairs look kind of mid-century to me also And I was really hoping you guys could get those.

I'd love it if my community did this! But at the same time, I'm kinda glad we don't because people take all the goodies they dont want to the Salvation Army, Good Will and Community Aid to donate.
These videos always get me so upset, not at you but, at the people who are lazy and just throw such good stuff in the trash instead of dropping them off at a thrift store. I'm sure they can drive and find some. It's insane. There are probably situations where people can't drop them off, but by the look of all the piles, it's more that they can't be bothered. There are families out there that cannot afford to buy such things and others treat them as trash. We are so watseful here in America.

I found a 1930s floor radio in really good condition so I polished it up and now it sits in my Office. Great finds!!

I always donate my items! What I can’t donate I put in the alley and it all gets taken to be used. We have to stop the waste!
