I like this format! I know it takes a lot of work to put together a How to Play video, and I appreciate it. I had no clue there was a fourth "Forbidden" game. My kids and I enjoy the first two (haven't played Sky yet) but it looks like we may have to give this one a go! We will come back to this video when we are learning it!
Hoo boy, these how to play videos take three times as much time. They're brutal! Forbidden Jungle just came out over the weekend at Gen Con - it's really great, and possibly the best of the series!
Outstanding video! Production values are off the charts, and you have a good broadcast voice for this kind of work. I hope your channel explodes!
Thanks so much, Mark! Really means a lot to receive an out of the blue note of encouragement!!
We love island and desert. Just ordered jungle today!
Haven’t played sky yet
I’m also very curious to play Sky! It seems so different from the others.
Great format! Very helpful and clear. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks, Kira!
Might be different enough from the rest of the series to be worthwhile.
It's got a little bit of Island with the sinking tiles, and a little bit of Desert with moving tiles, and actually feels a bit more like Pandemic with the way the aliens move and spread. It's really good!
Very good and informative explanation of the game! Plus 1 subscription here!
Thanks for the kind words, and for taking the time to leave a comment!
This was awesome.
Thanks, Jay!
So, we're in agreement that this series of game is called the Forbidden Series?
I’m not sure Gamewright has ever confirmed it, but that’s certainly what I call it!
Question about a card: there is a card called portable exchanger. It allows you to swap adjacent tiles. You can play it at any time and it is not an "action". But it says "If there are any webs on the tiles you move, remove them first." Does that mean you can remove all webs touching the tiles as a part of playing this card ("for free"), or do you have to use "actions" to remove the webs?
No actions are required when webs are removed via tile swap. Thanks for checking!
I have one question. Why are there eggs and hatchlings? Is their only purpose to add variety to the aliens? Or do they, like,go from an egg to a hatchling to an adult? Im confused as to why there are different kinds of alens. Is their only purpose to add variety and a level of interesting kinds of aliens?
Apologies for not making that more clear! Some threat cards will lay eggs at every location occupied by an adult, and other cards will hatch those eggs into hatchlings, and as you might guess, another card will grow the hatchlings into adults. If any type of alien runs out when the game calls for more to be added, they players lose. Thanks for asking!
Thanks fr clarifying! That helps a lo. Here's another subscriber!
