Glad that you got one! These videos I make like this are meant to be affirmations for people who are hesitant on buying the not-so-latest camera! Enjoy your 6D! It's gonna be an awesome workhorse for you!
Love my 6D. It’s an awesome camera. Very capable and a real bargain now people are jumping ship to mirrorless. Got mine used for $200 which is amazing for what you can do with it. Great video; thankyou!
Dang, Dean! $200 is a steal! The 6D is a more-than-capable kind of camera! It's still my wife's main camera whenever she does photoshoots like for family, pre-weddings and corporate shoots!
@@markfriday Yes, for sure. I was just very patient and just kept watching the camera shops over here in the UK and took the chance when the right one came up! Some real bargains around as everyone goes mirrorless etc. it’s no less of a camera than it was on launch. Got mine after watching Martin Castein’s vids on it. I wasn’t disappointed! Thanks again!
I used to vlog using this camera back in the days. still using it once in a while. downside, no flip screen, Image stabilization is out. BUT WHEN IT COMES TO LOW LIGHT..... I love it!!!
I would say it's about 80% usable, depending on how contrasty the image is, if the shadows are lifted too much, you'll definitely see some grain building up but it's nothing Lightroom/Premiere pro can't clean up with the new denoising features. As for the servo, as long as it's not a fast moving subject, you should be fine.
Totally agree with you! My wife's daily driver to shoot professionally is still her Canon 6D. It's just so hard to get rid of the 6D because of how capable it is!
Totally agree with you! Some people don't know what this camera is capable of! The underestimated because it was released so many years ago! I still use it from time to time! By the way please subscribe to the channel!
Awesome review and everything you've said about the 6D is 100% accurate and back in 2012 the camera had many advanced features. If you need fast frame rates why not pick up a 7D mark II? I use a 6D and 7D mark II and the combo is perfect and the 7D mark II is cheap, you can pick up a low mileage body for less than $400.00 in the US.
No flippy screen but you can watch your back screen output and trigger shots etc and change things on your phone tho. Its got WIFI and an app. Great for putting your camera in difficult places.
I bought a Brand new one 5 years ago , first shot was low light all around candles on birthday cake via auto setting “ the image blew my socks off ‘ buy the now classic 6D MK1 Thanks .
Totally agree with you! This is why I find myself not being able to sell my canon6d! It's really amazing and timeless! By the way please subscribe to the channel! Thank you so much
Hi Mark. Thanks for your review. The 6D is still my main camera, and I have no need to "upgrade." If you are shooting fast action sports or wildlife photography, then maybe look elsewhere. For all other genres, it's still one of the best ever and, as you say, such a bargain these days. Get a couple of used EF L lenses and the total cost will still be far less than that of a mirrorless full frame body - maybe around £1,000 total outlay. The sensor gives fantastic results! Ergonomics are great! It's really tough, and I know people who have picked up cosmetically damaged versions that have been tested by reputable sellers such as MPB and the camera still works great...
I totally agree with you! That's exactly how I feel about it. The 6D is my wife's workhorse when it comes to photography, I just borrow it every now and then to shoot and whenever I bring back the RAW files into Lightroom, I still can't believe the images it produces, it can easily compete with my Sony A7IV's image quality!
Great video Mark. I have always loved the pics out of the 6D. In fact I am intending to take the 6D on a trip to Sri Lanka rather than the usual smaller more modern cameras I would normally take. Just because - why not.
Hey, John! I totally agree with you! Although I own newer cameras now (just because I shoot videos and photos professionally) I still bring out the Canon 6D + 50mm f1.8 STM from time to time! I just love the colors that come out!

Totally agree with you! I find myself pulling this Canon 6D out sometimes when I want to take a break from my Sony a74 or a6700. I can't stress enough how good the colors are from the Canon 6D. Plus I love the sound of the shutter so much!

Maybe a word about it´s low price/IQ ratio? What do you take in account when you talk about a camera? Greetings
Hey, Gustavo. I did post some photos as B-roll here. My wife's main camera for shooting portraits and weddings is the Canon 6D. She trusts it more than Sony mirrorless cameras. The Canon 6D's sensor, for the price, is amazing. As long as you have enough practice to use the camera, you'll be able to use it in professional shoots, it''s about knowing which autofocus point to use at whichever given moment you're in. As for the price, I think it's a no-brainer, especially when you consider what other camera companies offer, Like Sony's cheapest full frame camera is the A7C, and it's nowhere near as cheap as a Canon6d with an included lens.
Based on the rave reviews from every reputable corner of YT, I stepped back into the Canon digital realm and bught a truly mint 6D (many years ago I had a 5DMk2 in kit). I just expected the same unparalleled Canon color space and clarity, maybe also close to the 5D classic. However, I was disappointed by the pictures rendered in terms of color and also focus. Probably, I happened to have a Monday model. I just sold it. Nevertheless, if the pictures are OK and to your liking, the 6D is a true bargain, indeed.

Hey, Rob! Thanks for your input! You're not being rude at all! I actually appreciate comments like this because it helps me do better in future videos. I definitely did blabber too much about APS-C vs full frame, haha.
@@markfriday for photo this is a good start camera, I’m still using this as my back up camera but for video this is really a no no. Hope you can share more photos from tour wife using with this camera. 🤙
This talk of shooting at iso 3200 and 6400...is that for photos? Or video? I have a 6d and it is NOT a good low light camera. Also, a huge drawback is it's auto focus for stills. Only 11 points, and they are all clustered in the middle of the frame. So if, say, your subject is standing in the corner of a blank wall, you'd would have to focus and recompose. It was always super annoying. Probably the main reason I stopped using the camera.
