I can't believe how much they made me care about this relationship in 6 short episodes. Some shows can't even do it with a full season and 40 to 60 mins at their disposal.

Fleabag‘s finale absolutely ruined me. Yes, it was sad and poetic, and beautiful, and it felt right but God it felt so wrong all at the same time! I never expected I’d become so emotionally invested in these two. The fact that they’ll probably never going to be together is torturing me.

The only thing that keeps me sane is believing with all my heart that after some years of the Priest achieving some of his career goals and Fleabag coming to terms with herself, they run into each other again and the Priest finally realizes it's the 21st century and he can be a man of God and still get married

Likewise. Real talent in having so many of us emotionally invested and rooting for them in just 6 episodes at 30 minutes. I really felt that last scene in the bus stop and I'm not that easily got when it comes to tears. But I was content with it, it was spot on.

"It'll pass"... But does it really ever? I know that even years later you still feel that twinge, I'm not sure if it's regret, longing, or something of the two... but I think when you love so deeply it never really leaves you.

occasionally i’ll just remember fleabag season two and it’ll hit me like a semi truck and i’ll become obsessed with it for like the next week and a half. side note this is incredible

I fell in love w a guy 10 years older than me who told me his whole life in two days (weird social experiment that I was passively forced to be part of) including the fact that he was going to become a priest years ago but changed his mind. He is the most interesting, wholesome, put together, intelligent, handsome, moving, man I have ever met. After we got into this dynamic of telling each our lives he told me he was engaged. Final day arrived and when gave me a goodbye kiss on the forehead, I melt down. Speed walked off the room, went to the bathroom. Cried AF. He is married now. I like to believe that in another life, maybe. Yeah.
I was hoping for a happy ending for you. Saying how he called off the engagement and now you two are married. However, if you told us that I probably wouldn't even believe the story. But now I believe it because the world is sad and I wish happiness for you!
I once met a formidable man. He was 18 years older and a father of two. We had a beautifully deep, rare, amazing connection that neither of us could quite understand. We could talk about anything, we just understood each other instantly. We shared so much. We spent countless nights writing endless e-mails to each other, we spent hours talking without seeing them fly by. I had to walk away from that beautiful friendship because I was getting crushed by the idea that he would never pick his own happiness with me over the happiness of his children. Obviously I respected that and loved him all the more for it, but I knew he loved me, since we had both told each other so, and I knew that by choosing his children he was also willing to sacrifice me, which meant I needed to walk away for my own good. It was just not meant to be. Nothing ever happened between us, good-bye was just me walking away. Five years later, I am now very happily married to a man I love more than anything. I still see my old friend around town sometimes, without ever planning to. We always say hi, knowing our paths were never meant to entwine. It gets better, you will see xxx I wish you the best.

Fleabag was one of the funniest, most clever shows I have probably ever seen, but it absolutely broke my heart watching it. I was devastated by the end and even two plus years after watching it, it still feels sore there yknow?

And that fucking series finale when you realise that this two people truely love each other but can never be together, I was a sobbing mess for like an hour

Most of us don't realize what a sacrifice it is to for a catholic priest or nun to choose a vow of celibacy and devote their life to something spiritual instead. It isn't just about sex but the personal emotional side of love that they give up. I have heard that this play and show has also raised again the subject of whether priest or nuns should be able to marry.
Any opinions anyone ???
They should be able to marry. I have met 2 young priests whom i believe would have made good Fathers to children. Both were excellent in reviving youth fellowship in our parish....
