I found the compilation Lp some weeks ago in the second hand corner of my record Store. This are exactly the pictures I saw in my imagination while listening to the bands. This must have been a great time going to this club.
It was a blast! My favourite band was the Belfast Cowboys with Rozz Rezabek from Negative Trend & Jimmy Wilsey from the Avengers (later Chris Isaak). Infinitely better than the stupid Offs.
This is really good, BUT I’d still like to know who lied about me trashing the toilet and got me banned until The Germs showed up and Darby got me back in for their show
I knew Don Vinil from The Offs not long before he died from a heroin overdose. He was a friendly guy, but heroin doesn’t care. There was a lot of heroin around, but I never got into it. However, it seemed that every other person in my own band, Last Rites, wound up being a junkie. I got to where if I even suspected a prospective member was an addict I'd cease all association with him. The only people I knew who died from AIDS got it from dirty needles…
@@conniechampagne I'll admit my acquaintance with Don was brief. I'll be the first to admit his heroin addiction could have easily led him to make bad decisions. Fortunately, I never used it…
Don Vinyl of the Offs was one of the most pretentious assh*les I have ever had the displeasure to meet & know. And once I got to know him, I made every effort to avoid him. He was also a big yawn as far as talent goes. I shed not one tear when he died. Interesting film tho.

Patricia Morrison (Pat Bag) at 3:38.
Biafra & DieAnt also show up.
Wow, this is a great moving snapshot of a really special moment in time. No embellishments.
So good. Just learned about the Deaf club. What a time!

The SF punk scene was over by 1981 but what fun while it lasted.
I'd love to have a copy of this on DVD for our archive.
Any bootlegger worth their salt could cop it right from here...🤷♂️ What's your archive?

Sounds like you made out alright...
Backstabbers gonna backstab

Was that Jello pogoing at 3:11 ?
Indeed
Michael Gira of Swans far right at about 3:45...
In a lot of ways, hardcore ruined punk, I love the hardcore sound, but the different kinds of bands on the same bill thing disappeared.
Hardcore got rid of women. So yeah.
So weird that some people consider Richard Gaikowski a Zodiac Killer suspect.....🤔

No. Don was not very nice. I could tell you a particular story, but it's not nice to speak ill of the dead.

Sorry green day and rancid no mention here
They were in grammar school or younger
Because they aren't around in 1978, dude.
You're off by about a decade.

Damn. Not sure whose eulogy this is.
Not my experience at all. He was a really nice guy who always had a big smile for me.
