awesome review Michael! Must admit it is pretty weird seeing you review an android product but I like it! And the back of that tablet is freaking amazing! So beautiful.
This tablet looks really nice. Great video Mike and thanks for the detailed review. Let's know how good is the battery life and show us pictures and a few videos when you get a chance.
omg, i'm so attracted to this tablet right now. if the Apple doesn't make a annoucement for the next iPad soon that includes a quad-core processor and retina display. I'm so getting this!
great review just one question u have a sony camcorder does it have a mic input or its that you are recording using a handy recorder such as the zoom h1 an syncing the music BTW cystal clear sound
The Transformer Prime is definitely the android tablet to beat. I would love to see a similar tablet running Microsoft's upcoming Metro UI. With the physical keyboard attachment, you basically have an unltrabook that will run on a real operating system (through Windows 8 Metro UI and/or the traditional Windows UI) running cloud based business and word processing software.
@MrFreshboy86 Multitasking. A quad core processor NOW isn't used in any app, but when you have 10 browser tabs, one Tegra Zone game and a 1080p video open at the same time, you can really see the difference. The iPad 2 is probably faster in every app, but it can't do everything at the same time as well as a real PC. Tegra 3 does.
@FabriSlv i think you didn't understand the meaning of a retina display. it means you eyes cannot distinguish the pixels, which means the display needs a certain pixel density, depending on the distance to your eyes. for the iPhone, 300dpi was needed (given 12" distance from eyes), for the iPad, a little less is needed given an overall greater distance, 250dpi would do, resolution should be 2048*1536, which is almost certain for the next iPad.
Nice Video, but my opinion: Wait for iPad 3 and the look which tablet belongs to you. I think, the comparison to the iPad 2 is a bit useless! In fact, this asus-device is very nice I think with it's power and ics on it. Nice Video! :)
As it seems to have usb power unit, do u know does it charge with external battery system that has usb out, suitable to charge ipad or similar, any experience ?, i have been looking similar system ( macbook air or some ultrabook pc ) for travel companion but those systems battery lasts only 6 to 7 hours and that is so little for long flights, with keyboard that Asus is an killer, Pc would be bit more versatile but still so short battery time...
With all of this powerful hardware, why is it running Android? Android is decent but limiting considering there aren't all that many apps you can get for it, it would be nice to see these running a full desktop version of Linux or even Windows 7
@lolippi when Ipad 3 will come out then Asus will get a transformer Prime S with 16M camera etc...there will always be a better product in the future...
@h4x0y a) the iPhone 4S is not stunning. It's a very good camera, but the Nokia N8, which was not at all the best smartphone ever, had a much better camera, and it was almost 2 years ago! b)a retina display with a 9.7 inch tablet means something like 1600p. Actually not possible. c)FaceTime hd means a 720p front-facing camera. It could be, but I expect it to be a 480p as Tranformer Prime, or it would be difficult to place it on an iPod. d)a6 and better battery are almost sure.
@h4x0y I know what a retina display is. But, with such a big screen resolution, the problem is if the A6 processor can manage that. And what's the cost of putting the 27" iMac resolution into a 9.7" screen. I don't think that's possible. But, even if it is, Asus has the TF700T, with a 1930*1200 screen.
Heyy! When u sign into your google account nd back up that data, what does it include? Like would it have all my phones data? Web bookmarks? Music? Etcc?
One of the best reviews on the web I love this tablet already

@DetroitBORG looking forward to some 3-5 min video in the future! Keep up the good work man! You're the best xD
Thank you very much for this great review. I did not know that voice recognition in ics allowed you to write emails, seafch maps and so on.
I love your reviews Mike. There very specific and in depth. I Love your videos. Keep it up.
omg, i'm so attracted to this tablet right now. if the Apple doesn't make a annoucement for the next iPad soon that includes a quad-core processor and retina display. I'm so getting this!
Excellent and straight-forward review! Good job Mike!
you chilla frilla and thecreativeone are my favorite tech channels
Really like this review, long and informative. Love the champagne color!
Happy Birthday Mike!
Isn't VGA 640x480 which is 480p which is what the iPad 2 and iPod touch record in for their front facing cameras. Great review Michael!!!
Great video. One of the best I've seen so far for the TF-201.
Great vid. The big eyes, big mouth, squeeze... priceless... definitely priceless... Thanks for an awesome review! :D
That tablet actually looks really really cool.
This is very good that you buy not only Apple's devices. And once again you are the best!
LoL great video! :P Love the camera effects hehe
@DetroitBORG you honestly make the best reviews and product analysis
I have seen alot of reviews for this b ut when i saw you reviewing it i watched it instantly
happy birthday. love your vids.
seems like a pretty nice tablet actually. 4.0 seems great
This is a nice tablet, coming from a person who person who prefers iPad over all Android tablets. Again, this is a really nice tablet.
I had an asus tablet forever ago.. so nostalgic
@DetroitBORG I like the in-depth videos, keep them coming.
great review just one question u have a sony camcorder does it have a mic input or its that you are recording using a handy recorder such as the zoom h1 an syncing the music BTW cystal clear sound
When do you think we will see the next update to the MacBook pro? When do you think the iPhone 5 will come out? Great review!
Always nice videos from him.

Excellent review. It really looks like a good quality bit of kit. I wonder if it'll sell.
Great review. Does the camera have panorama mode like the Galaxy Nexus?
Many Many thanks for your effort. this is the best review for asus prime
Apple should consider the keyboard/laptop design for the iPad 3.
great video, Mark :)

Tegra 3 does.
The voice command functions such as sending email, texts and searches is not a "Siring function". Android has had these for years.
Please make more videos. You are the best at it. Maybe iPad 3?
wow very detail, thanks so much for this :D
Hey Mike, do you recomend this tablet over the iPad 2? Or I should just wait for the iPad 3?
Happy birthday!!!!!!
Nice tablet!
But it isn't a good idea to compare with old iPad 2, it would be better to compare with iPad 3!
Thanks for an excellent review!
Please, can you tell me where did you get it? Great vid too.
OH MY GOD I FRIKIN LOVE AND LOOKIN FOWARD TO OWNING ONE!!!!!!!
@DetroitBORG Happy Birthday for yesterday!!

I already have a 17 inch-laptop and an android smartphone, should I still get this one?
The new iPad or this tablet? I've never owned anything android but I love the customization...
great tour!
I love your voice, I wish you did commercials.
@lol4everty yeah like notification tray, voice commands, tabbed web browsing, folders, multi-tasking, front facing camera, cloud drives....
Do u think the next iPad will get quad-core processors
Love the review:)
Great review mike!! I still like my iPad 2 better
did you use the camera on the asus transformer prime if you did what mp does the cameras both run on or how good are the cameras
thanks for a great review :)
@DetroitBORG I enjoyed the long video... Much more thorough. Don't make them too short pls :)
yes these scratches are part of the design.
it would be awesome if you can do a comparison of the ipad 2 and the asus transformer prime however i didnt see a video of that
Look like apple ipad and the box with the bookled is apple style too.
' i dont want wanna share this cause it has my serial '
very good review indeed
nice vid borg
I didn't hear you review any part of this device, was more like a feature demonstration...
@DetroitBORG guessing that you have already seen the iPad 3 pictures and the news about it being launched in late march.
@thereviewer6 No It's not !!
This has a "Quad-Core" !! Do you even know what that means ??!
The iPad 2 has a "Dual-Core" 900 MHz processor !!
this was very helpful thanks :)
What would happen if you cleaned the back the wrong way? Would it get rid of the circular pattern?
@DetroitBORG Thanks for answering. I'll wait for the iPad 3 hopefully coming this march.
@DetroitBORG you're going to get the iPad 3 as soon as it arrives I hope? Because your Apple reviews are still better, I hope you still like Apple. ;p
Can you please do a camera test and com
is that the champagne gold?
The new iPad or Asus Transformer Prime?
i like your weapon... i mean your knife, where can i buy it?
@DetroitBORG where did u pick this up???? Im pissed... mines on backorder from jr.com
will you do a video about the absinthe jailbreak?
Do you know what's better than an Apple? Any Android. After a ton of research this is the best tablet out there as of 9/18/2012.
buy it or wait for iPad 3?
As it seems to have usb power unit, do u know does it charge with external battery system that has usb out, suitable to charge ipad or similar, any experience ?, i have been looking similar system ( macbook air or some ultrabook pc ) for travel companion but those systems battery lasts only 6 to 7 hours and that is so little for long flights, with keyboard that Asus is an killer, Pc would be bit more versatile but still so short battery time...
when he clicked small eyes i just wanted to yell "NOW YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO BE ASIAN!"
yes but i think the uk has a unique plug socket to any other country in europe.
why did you select the Asus and didn't chosen the Samsung galaxy tab 10.1????
With all of this powerful hardware, why is it running Android? Android is decent but limiting considering there aren't all that many apps you can get for it, it would be nice to see these running a full desktop version of Linux or even Windows 7
Why you have soo much apple products?
can you make a video comparing android and i pad?
So you sould have the best of both worlds like myself
is face to unlock on this tablet as well?
Love the ASUS TF201
@lolippi when Ipad 3 will come out then Asus will get a transformer Prime S with 16M camera etc...there will always be a better product in the future...
@DetroitBORG The quality is great
What's the point in a quad core tablet if it can't run a full blown os?
hey is this better than the ipad 2?
@h4x0y a) the iPhone 4S is not stunning.
It's a very good camera, but the Nokia N8, which was not at all the best smartphone ever, had a much better camera, and it was almost 2 years ago!

d)a6 and better battery are almost sure.
SUBSCRIBED!!!
mike,
please do a review for Switcheasy Card :)
"This is capable of recording at 480p, which is certainly better than VGA like the iPhone"
VGA = 480p.
Heyy! When u sign into your google account nd back up that data, what does it include? Like would it have all my phones data? Web bookmarks? Music? Etcc?
Is the 30-pin connector compatible with an iPad, iPhone or iPod?
@alancito10T Yes I was mistaken !!
All I remembered that it was something under 1GHz
@FabriSlv ops, i wanted to say "the iPhone 4S CAMERA is not sunning"
