What always amazed me about The Expanse: The books are able to convey a believable sci-fi universe and society, but the show brings all that to life *so well*. A character is on a kind of subway, and the announcements over the speakers are in English, Chinese and Belter. Consider the takeout container: it is a clearly Asian design and shows how much the cultures have combined on Mars, because there's only Martian culture on Mars, no separate national cultures. The patches and signs fit in and carry meaning within this universe, there are warning signs where they should be. There are brand names all over the place which all are able to tell the viewer what they are at first glance. The Belter ships are gritty and greasy and dirty, the Earth ships are rather unfuturistic traditional design, the Mars ships are super high tech. You could say The Expanse... expanded on the books. And it's beautiful.
Yeah this show is absolutely amazing. Plus the books are kind of hard to adapt since there's a fair bit of inner thoughts so I definitely applaud them for successfully putting it all to film from that factor alone.
