I've always wanted to see a run of SoTC like this - out navigating the world to get to the bosses, rather than a boss rush which is what I typically see. Great run and great commentary!

I remember when I first seen this game on the ps2, it blew my mind how gorgeous and cinematic it was. My friend was playing and it felt like I was watching a movie. Even to this day, the ps2 version is still beautiful.
I love that GDQ shows off every kind of runner. Male, female, non-binary and all in between. Ruby was great to watch along with the commentator in this fantastic game!

I only recently started playing this when seeing it on sale for the ps4 (I only even played two bosses on a friend's ps2 way back when), and pretty much experienced it new, and aside from thinking the game was great I am loving the community around it!

The only bad part about SOTC speedruns is that boss fights are so short you can't enjoy the OST properly. Great run BTW

Shadow of the Colossus is a follow up to a game called Ico that came out for PS2 in 2001, it's a scenic puzzle game in which you are a cursed child trying to escape a castle with another mysterious prisoner. The two are strongly linked, with SotC's story being based before Ico's. The Last Guardian is also linked to both these games, they all share the same director (Fumito Ueda).
Ico, the one they made before Shadow.
They are talking about "ICO", the other game developed by "Team ICO" (creators of shadow of the colossus)
ICO. It's the first game Team Ico made, and it's very similar in tone to SotC (there's strong evidence they're set in the same universe).

I've been playing around with SOTC on PS2 recently. I'm I know means a speedrunner but I've created my own speed running rules for myself. I have been playing new game normal mode from start to finish. Unfortunately there are many cutscenes you cannot skip. But I have gotten my time down to four and a half hours. Though your run is a little more impressive.
