How terribly sad for this wonderful film industry. I’m Australian and I knew little about Korea and cared even less that this was the case. My major thought regarding that country was that Koreans were once our enemies and I didn’t really care what happened there. But then along came Netflix and my accidental selection of a film called ‘Crash Landing On You.’ That one film pricked my interest enough to watch others and I very quickly became a firm fan of Korean productions. I was very surprised by the quality..the acting, the cinematography, the stories and the country itself. I rarely watched Hollywood films at all. BUT then came this horrible treatment of the very people that had drawn me to the Korean industry in the first place! I loved ‘Pasta’ and ‘My Mister’ and felt so intensely sad for this actor. It cast a nasty shadow across my rising admiration for Korea. Can the people not see how valuable their film industry is? How talented they are? How vital they are to change? They challenge issues of corruption, inequality, etc, and this should be revered by the Korean people. Are Koreans this fickle? I was beginning to like them very much. Now..I’m starting to wonder if they are capable of the true loyalty their entertainment industry deserves…

The Head of Police was saying that these police promotions were already delayed for the past year. I guess the delay was due to the Itaewon crowd crush in 2022. At that time, the Korean general public was totally blaming the police for their inefficiency and lack of crowd control. Thus, the police department had to keep a low profile and not make the public angrier by conducting any promotions.

Like I have been saying! Those promoted should be demoted! It’s the least they owe for driving a man to commit suicide because of their carelessness! Everyone knows that Asian countries in particular are still driven to extreme by an old culturally known phrase”to lose face”. He was driven by accusations that were suspected only! All because he was a celebrity! He was bringing HONOR to his country by his talents and this is how he is repaid! I also blame netizens just jumping to all kinds of conclusions! Shame on them!

Lee Sunkyun deserves justice, the blackmailers deserve to be off to prison and the rest of those who created the occurrence of Lee Sunkyun's death need punishment. This has so many facets to the case that it's paramount to a Kdrama~ only Mr. Lee is truly gone, and it feels like no one will give him justice, his passing will be forgotten.......

Police investigating police and not doing so thoroughly and correctly is a global problem not just South Korea problem. You see it in the US with cops investigating their killer colleagues. Even here in Canada we had our RCMP which is our federal police being investigated by a external committee but people who sat on it were ex RCMP members so even if you set up outside body they aren't completely impartial due to close knit networks in law enforcement and the judiciary.

I don't know the past of Dispatch but I got introduced to them thru BTS and I have seen they have changed slightly in their ways maybe coz they are now more towards true media coverage than make belief coverage. I have seen every time they cover the BTS members they are always showing high respect and give space to the members and the members too acknowledge them with respect though they do it for all medias but for Dispatch I have seen a slight positive difference since covid. However, unfortunately the Police of S.Korea does not actually hold a good reputation for past several years. The corruption is all across the world no doubt but in S.Korea it is becoming a little more unregulated from what I can perceive from my end (please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, as I keep hearing often some of my Korean friends say that they will rather go to a stranger for help than to Korean Police). I think what Dispatch did is point towards the correct culprit with substantial evidence at the time when the celebrity in question was ripped of his life due to all the things that actually should be a no-no. What astonishes me that some criminals who have committed severe crimes even after proven guilty have their face and name hidden in the media and public but these celebrities who actually have yet to be proven guilty for what they are being accounted for is suddenly thrown at the media and public to be ridiculed and mocked at. Nothing is more stronger than public standing up as one and voicing themselves strongly to get some changes to happen in my opinion.
