@Cult_of_Stu_MacherCarol - while absolutely amazing for the first 6 seasons of the show - eventually got to the point where her character development became stagnant until she married Ezekiel and adopted Henry. But there was a solid 3 seasons where he felt relatively the same. Father Gabriel, from season 5 all the way up, seemed like he only ever grew, and his arc came full circle with a final redemption at the very end. Not to say his development was better, but he certainly had a more satisfying and consistent development.
One thing I love about Gabriel is that he has never lost faith in his god, but lost faith in humanity and knows that 1 day he can teach the young ones but he must be alive for that.
@@DrabonadeHe lost his humanity then, his faith is still there when he his captured by Jadis and he looks up in defeat and stares into the sky, the camera even slow pans upwards to the sky before cutting away.
I’m so glad they kept him around and didn’t give him the death he had in the comics. He had a full character arc by the end of the show. He started the apocalypse by locking people out to die. And he eventually let people in to survive (season 11 finale). He literally came full circle
What if instead of bashing Glenn and Abraham’s heads, Negan shot them and they turned into walkers and Negan either brought them back to the Sanctuary or had them chase the other characters in the lineup?
What the fuck was this clip I mean couldn’t u at least slowed down and by the last couple seasons Gabriel was already shaped into the badass he is now or was so All the other stuff was just extra
Best character development of the entire show

I think that he lost God or at least his vision (you got the joke) shifted drastically because his line and behaviour like 'God isn't here anymore'
@@DrabonadeHe lost his humanity then, his faith is still there when he his captured by Jadis and he looks up in defeat and stares into the sky, the camera even slow pans upwards to the sky before cutting away.
@@Drabonade God is not here is saying that the world is full of sin although it could be argued he meant it in God isn’t real
Who knew that the once terrified priest would become the badass leader of Alexandria
Definition of underrated
Seeing the termites murdered in cold blood brutally: 👁️👄👁️
He didn’t watch that
@@ztjthekid3845 True, however seeing all the blood from them in his church definitely messed him up.
I would argue of when maggie saved him with prayer too after he went crazy and tried to get the group kicked out of Alexandria
I forgot about that but yes

And in the episode 'No way out' finding the courage to join Rick clear out walkers from Alexandria

Father Gabriel such a cool character
Plot twist: weaponized zombies are sent to Alexandria and with saw blades, cars and gasoline, his work changes to sending his congregation to heaven.
