I have this friend who thinks she's a "fun aunt" but the stuff she does is really not for the kids so much as for her own self-image. To have a genuine bond with a child you have to be genuine with them and get to know them. Not just whisk them away on whatever you think a good adventure is.

Mark, you’re overthinking your whole thing with Seinfeld. From the most famous person on the planet believe me when I tell you all everyone likes is to be respected, have fun, and not being treated like an alien.
Joe List messed up he should have taken his nephew to a department store and could have purchased him a proper outfit that he likes before going to the steak house. Steak house is nice but he cheaped out on the outfit. That area has some decent and good stores where he could have bought him clothes his nephew chose or had input in and some dress shoes would have been the classy move. PLus as a birthday gift the meal is nice but the clothes he would have and be happy to wear again.
Watching Mark and Jimmy Carr is like watching the US and UK series of ‘The Office’.
