Your tip of keeping a notepad and writing notes along the way & then writing the measurements on the base page are so super helpful along the way! Help on the fly for when it’s hard to plan ahead, lol. I consider my first project the practice run anyway and helps you work out the design kinks/mistakes, to you know help you “plan out” the next one better.
I just love these folios! Maymay makes it look so easy, but I am so thankful to be able to watch, pause, and rewatch the process. I also love that Maymay keeps it real and leaves the oops’s in. I can’t wait to try this one. Thank you Maymay for another fun project❤
I love making folios! I started last year with one of yours. I love how you are using the one inch folio and adding elements to it. I also love that you didn’t edit out your mistakes, and adjusted the folio. No one is perfect, and these usually become happy accidents! ❤
This is so cute! I’ve never made one of these and I am so excited to try this one! I’ve got lots of Carta Bella paper from this Christmas I never used…this the perfect project! ❤😊
This was such a great tutorial! Literally teaching how to put it together! I love all of your videos And thank you for sharing and SHOWING were mistakes can happen and how to fix them. I feel like I learn so much to see how to fix the corners, or if you mis-cut adjusting for corrections along the way.. you make it like simple
I was not sure I if I would be able to command this project or not until I watched this video. You have once again built my self confidence in completing this project even if it takes me longer to do than other crafters. I was completely engaged in the process! I am looking forward to watching Part 2!
OMG Maymay Your ideas are Brilliant and Oh So Ingenious and love allot all your flippity dippity now ya see it now ya don’t cuz it makes for oodles of flip flap fun…..as one goes thru their Folio or album looking and finding all those hidden secrets that reveal allot of precious memories!! Girl you had my u decided attention and I was wowed with everything your Part one surge was amazing and magnificent…now can’t wait for part two!! KIDDO YOU SO ROCK!! Here’s to dining in the New Year 🎉☕️🎊💕🎸💕🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Joan Smith
Wow! I really like this folio so far. I’m so glad you did it on colored paper because you can see the score lines so much better. It makes it easier to follow what you are doing. I can’t wait for part 2. Thank you for sharing 😊🤗
Woke up really early this morning and watched this video, and saved it, coz I know I'll be back to have a go! Loved how you put it all together, including mistakes, fabulous tutorial! (Lyn)
Great video, Maymay...and yes, seeing how you think through these decisions is very helpful. What I'd have done about that smaller spine is to do an insert...split it down the center and then add a 7/8" piece and glue both sides to it. It would probably have given that side extra stability too. Looking forward to part two!
I can't afford Art Glitter Glue, but I don't use tacky glue either. I use Aileen's Fabric Fusion glue. It seems to have a similar consistency to A.G.G. It very fluid, can be applied thinly, dries quickly and it dries clear. It comes in a large bottle, but you can also get a small one with a fine tip. I get the large one for refills and use the small one for my paper crafts. I recommend it to anyone on a tight budget, like myself.
I have an un opened pack of Echo Park winter paper that would be gorgeous for this folio, have never made one yet, watched many of your tutorials on it though. Can I do it, that’s the question, Maymay you are brilliant.
I've made the uneven spine mistake several times. At first I started over, but now I just fix it and go on. Honestly, the green stripe is strikingly attractive and I'm hoping you leave it, maybe use a cut apart for the closure but let the stripe be. I bet it'll be just as attractive on the underneath side!
I LOVE this folio so far! I can’t wait to see how you finish it! I need to make something for my great niece for her birthday & I think I’ll use this base with some other paper. Do you have any suggestions for a paper pack? She’s turning 14. Thanks!
There is a quick dry tacky glue that I got because it's cheap and they had it at my local craft store. I put it in a squeeze bottle with a needle point, and with those thin lines it dries pretty quickly.
In Michigan, what you call a sleigh, we call a sled. A sleigh is usually pulled by a horse or reindeer. I have noticed different parts of the country call what is pictured a sleigh. Just funny how different parts of the country call things different.
I am not immune from making mistakes! Once things were so off and I was upset so I did throw it out and restarted immediately. Usually I do what you did and cover my mistake and no one is aware of it except me.
On screen it looks like the spines are different sizes. Did you say both are 1 inch? Just checking before I make one to make sure I'm not goofed up. Thanks for sharing with us.
Oh yes...another idea that I just HAVE to try before the day is over. Thanks for being humble and not editing out your errors.
I just love these folios.. what a great new idea! Cant wait for part 2!!!!!
Hay from Cumming Ga 1st time on your channel
You lost me at "thinking ahead" 🤣😂🤣 Seriously, I love this folio! I never know what to do with all the cut-aparts. Thank you!
That’s so funny! Same! Who is this thinking ahead? Surely not Maymay! 😂

I love that paper. I would have started over but now I know how to fix it. Thank you
Thanks for being honest and vulnerable. It gives me confidence that you make mistakes also. I love the folio.

Simply awesome!!
On the magnet for the flippy piece, I always cover the magnet with sticky tape. Works perfect.
This folio / album is very exciting! A new twist by using the cut-a-parts in a new way. Can’t wait for Part 2!! Thanks for sharing!!

I like this idea!
The Tim Holtz sleigh die would be a perfect addition to this folio. Going to have to order this beautiful paper. Thanks Maymay!
I have saved this video to my desktop (I hope) so that I can follow it later! Thank you, Maymay.
Love love love. The 1” folio is my favorite.
This is my favorite one so far! I love it! Thanks for sharing, Maymay! ❤
Hi Maymay, thank you for sharing your thought process because it helps people like me understand better.

Thank you so much!!

Thank you for this great project. I would love for you to do a whole episode on what to do with those cut aparts.
I’m loving this!! Need to choose my paper.
Happy New Year!

I’m laughing. I was watching and yelling no Maymay, don’t forget the magnet. 😂
Fabulous Folio! Can’t wait to see you finish it!
Absolutely love it! Can't wait to start making some!

Oh my gosh, lol, you heard me! "Magnet, Maymay! Magnet!" and you stopped and said "Oops" lolol!!!
Love this!
I should have watched all the way through before commenting. Later in video you caught it. Thanks.
I would have started over. I am a perfectionist.

I love how you show your mistakes. We all make them 17:14

When I need a magnet, I mark an x on the page and circle it. Sometimes helps me remember!
I would have figured “something” out if it took me all day!!! Lol

I would have done it like you did. Don’t forget to re- measure the paper.
What is the device you are using to hold the Art Glitter GLue???
Hi that is the My Sweet Petunia Precision Glue Press, here a video for you: th-cam.com/video/4Sg7aqh03iA/w-d-xo.html
What is your glue holder for your art glitter glue
Hi that is the My Sweet Petunia Precision Glue Press, we are currently sold out, thanks
If I hadn't been able to figure out your fix, I'd have left the spines uneven. No one but me would probably notice.
This is my first time seeing these portfolios. Can anyone recommend a beginner video to watch of May may
Hi here is the link for the first folio we did, it's perfect for a beginner: th-cam.com/video/mg27XGfNt3s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RVdqM3JDVNSlICTO

Hardly ever start over….work with what you have
I would have found a way to fix it. I would not scrap it after all that work. You came up with an easy solution.
Thank you for showing the mistake . I probably would have started over but now I will be looking for ways not to.
Where do you get your magnets?
Hi here are the links for magnets in our store: Basic Grey Magnets bit.ly/3yLlpoM

Can you tell me about your glue bottle size and dispenser?

I’m bad about starting over. 🤦♀️.
