Wowzer! You solved the mystery of why my cards weren't folding evenly, but only sometimes. And I LOVE that you started with telling us it's impossible to do these things perfectly. I really thought it was only me. So nice to know.
You're never too old or experienced to learn something new 🌹
I love how you folks end your vids with prayer. Thank you!
Me again, I want to say how very much I appreciate the time you are spending on live "training". I am learning so much.
Maymay, CONSISTENCY is the key in card making and quilting. In quilting for instance, don't change sewing machines during the piecing process. No two machines sew the same even though the stitch size is set the same. Same with cutting, scoring, etc in card making. You've reminded me of so many things I learned in both card making and quilting. Keep up your great work. God bless you, Vinnie, Shannon, and all your team. ❤
This is the first time I've watched this format of your channel. I had goosebumps when the session ended with prayer. May God bless each of you too.
Thank you for the help video. We need encouraging and reminders that we don’t have to be perfect. Just enjoy the moment and to enjoy our creativity.
I love your videos. This is the best "help assist" one I've watched by anyone. You were made to teach and inspire.
Hey. I'm watching the replay and the best tip of all was SMELL the paper. A good smelling paper can put me in the best mood. Thank you.
LOVED this video! Most helpful video I’ve watched since I started paper crafting four years ago. Thank you so much! You’re the best.
Yipppeee, go MayMay, be wild with your matting. !!!!!!!
30:20 -- Great clarification on the difference of scoring with the fold on the top of your score vs. on the back of what you scored and leaving your score mark with a thin "bead" in the fold.
31:50 -- No bead in the fold does lay flatter than having the bead in there.
Thank you so much for discussing how to fold scored paper! Your demo is eye opening.
My name is Tamatha! I’ve never heard anyone else with the same name. You guys even pronounce it the same! Love it! I do feel for her, cause I know everybody mispronounces it or misspells it. Love your videos! Blessings!
Hi Tamatha from Tamatha! I sure can feel you on the mispronunciation and misspelling of our name... Ithink I am up to 20+ different one...lol
Thanks for watching!!!
Love your videos. But every single time I hear you say smell the paper and you do, it makes me smile. I LOVE the smell of paper (and books and certain magazines).
This is the absolute best video you have ever ever made! Thank you so much for helping me not feel so dumb.❤❤❤
I want to say THANK YOU for this video-this by far has been a tremendous help for me as a beginner.. I had a problem with scoring and paper cracking-i scored both side and no issues! I LOVE all of your tips and tricks..I printed and laminated all of the guides and am now making acetate card fronts, bases and squares and circles..I find this to be very helpful by placing them before committing..Thank you ALL for the info you share with us!
Your scoring tips just clicked! My Aunt always used a scoring tool and never the one that came with the score board!
Right on MayMay!! Oh my goodness I can’t believe people give you a bad time about CRAFTING! How boring to have to look at art through only one persons lenses! Let’s try this let’s try that. That’s what I love!! You are wonderful MayMay and I love all of your tips and tricks. Very helpful❤️ GOD bless you my dear❤️❤️
I love your tips! Comparing to sewing is 100% accurate! I always tell my knitting and crochet newbies, "consistency is key". It doesn't matter if it is perfect, if you are consistent it will look like design.
ive been getting e-mails like crazy .... yahoooo
I’m glad you pointed out about the score lines, because I noticed that some of my scoreboards make it like 1/16 of inch off, either too much or too short. It drives me crazy. And the boards that score wide like that also tend to cut with a wide margin like that also
Catching the replay....And I absolutely LOVE these kinds of videos!
Also, I have a little tip for you about the glue press. The cap that you remove from the glue bottle actually screws on the little nib on the front of the base. And I'm glad to know that you don't put the cap back on. I was putting mine back on at the end of every day. 😊
Also, I score and fold the same way you do, Maymay. I've seen ALOT of people do it the other way, and I just don't like the little bump either.
Thanks so much for all of this very useful information!
Crafty Hugs ❤ Suzy
Thanks for the tips. They are all helpful ... some to one person, some to others. But there's something there, for sure, for everyone!
I’m watching this on Saturday and love the entire video.
What wonderful tips, I saved this video so I can go back and review. Thanks for all you do. 🥰💕
Love this whole vid,but the 2 things i adored were (1) i dont want to go down the scoring rabbit hole- amen! No one is gonna care when they are already blessed with getting a handmade card! (2) "shuck it down to the cob..." in reference to gluing paper together for a living. Love that saying and i'll respectfully borrow it from time to time--- creates a clear image and is such a dang cute southern way to put it. Thanks for the info and the many smiles
This my 3rd time watching this video, it is so helpful. You answered some questions I didn't know I had. 😊. Also I really like the place photo here template ideas.
I love the explanations and the common sense approach!!
A lot of good tips, especially with the glue gun. Thanks.
I followed your tip for making card mats in different colors. I stacked them up and punched a hole through the stack and put a brad in it to hold them all together. Now I just need to rotate to the sizes I think I might want!! Brilliant!! Thank you Maymay!!
Thank you for being so encouraging to everyone and for all the helpful tips!
OMG do something crazy! Put tape on sticky side up!!😂😂😂
Absolutely love all your tricks and tips - but my favorite has to be the acetate/clear templates
Amazing information - very helpful.
I made 9 plaques with crosses on them for my grandchildren for Christmas. They are made from scrap wood covered with fabric and and Dollar Tree wood crosses glued on. The crosses are painted black and then beaded. I used Art Glitter Glue to secure the beads of all different sizes. My Glue Press was the perfect tool to get into tiny spaces to secure the beads. Many of them were those teeny little micro seed beads.
Thanks for this excellent video! Its one of my favorites. Always learning so much from you! God bless!🙏❤
I really found your tips useful. Thanks. It’s great to learn from each other. ❤
Maymay, love all your tips!!!! I'm a visual person too! Thank you,
I totally agree with the use of 2 different trimmers. I was having trouble using a trimmer and a different scoreboard. They wouldn't line up right. Now that I have trimmer and scorer in one it works much better.
I can't comment on "lives" on TH-cam. I have a Kindle tablet and can't figure out how to do it, so I wait until the shows over. Today you knocked it out of the ballpark, what a great show. So many useful tips, and hints. I can't wait to try them. Tanks so much!
Thank you for this video. Although it goes without saying that I leaning a lot about paper crafting and card marking, but today I learned some very valuable trips and tricks. Again thank you so much. ❤
"Vinnieing the Video" -- Clicking on Thumbs 👍 Like, below the video title, IMO, is common courtesy. Don't we always say "Please?" & "Thank you"?
Of course, we do. 👍"Liking" every video, LIVE or Replay-watch, is just good manners!
That is so nice,Vinnie. Thank u maymay for the tips
Loved this video. Thank you
HI : I agree with Maymay about the score board. I find if I put it tight to the left-hand side to score my measurements are off. Very good how you explained the Vinnie the video. God Bless you All for what you all do for us. Maymay what a good lesson you taught us today. Good old time flash cards.
I always Vinnie the video at the start of the video
Oooh you can even stick your yellow tape to the laminated mats 😊
great tips Maymay! happy Valentine's day. I have been hinting for a new diamond too, but the one you have is gorgeous so I understand why Vinnie isn't getting a new one for you!!!
Love the yellow tape idea too!
The best tip EVER is when you said to cut from the bottom up (when using a sliding paper trimmer) so that the top of the paper is flush with the top and the paper won't move. It's the only way I cut now!
Me again. I gotta get me some yellow tape. I actually cut acetate in several sizes for just such a purpose, but I haven't really used them much.
Can you make then for use to buy tool like you are talking about
Gosh I love your videos but today was a game changer! Awesome!! Thank you!!
Thank you for all your tips. Very helpful.
What a great video! Thank You! So many wonderful ideas/solutions!
I love these videos. I learn so much. Thank you.
Thank you x's 1000 for the many helpful suggestions and tips. I took many notes. I thought I was in school again but just for art class!😊😊😊
I like the perfect ruler guides.
A friend of mine saw all the tape and permanent texta marks all over my trimmer and offfered to clean it for me, I almost fainted!!!!!😮 A BIG NO flew out of my mouth quicker than I could think. She was shocked then I had to explain why they were there, ah hour later she just said “ can we get back to crafting now?” , that put an end to it . Next time I saw her I noticed a few permanent marks on her trimmer, I just giggled to myself.😂
Great video with such helpful, well explained information! ❤
I colored the inches with black at the top. Then I had my daughter dot the half inches.🤗💖🦋
The easy way to get a crisp fold with a clean edge is to score your paper and then, while it's still in place in the score board, bring the far edge on the right over to the boundary on the left and run the bone folder over the resulting crease. The top and long side edges will match beautifully. A multi-use trimmer with a scoring function doesn't give you that secure edge to fold against. That's why I only score on a score board
The dress my craft and spellbinders trimmers have the edge to fold against. That’s one reason I’ve started using my trimmer to score a bit. Thanks
Hi everyone my first live
OMG HI Y’ALL. What a fab-YOU-lous EXTRAORDINARYLY. Because I LOVE being reminded of all the taken for granted thing and they are the little things that really are the BIG THINGS!! Ei. about the stamps. YEP I was wondering why just the other day my stamp got all wonky. And now I know it was a bit wonky cause. Pushed to hard…THANK YOU!!!! And LOVE the PAPER AROMA …..yep I can guarantee your statement is so true…kinda forget about that too!!! I could go on and on and*******but you get my drift……oh cheeze whiz. Sorry Binney about the Drift word now you’re thinking about the metal rowboat you want. It’ll come. IT WILL COME I’m sure you deserve it!!
Well gies thanks to my triad of heroes that always make my dayz ,with Shannon’s a.k.a Shananiganz and Vinney a.k.a. Vin Man and da Maymay a.k.a. CRAFTABULOUSheroette , You always make my day. Why YOU SLL SO ROCK!!!!!

My answer to the pre-game ?: I struggle with: math, cutting with a trimer, lining things up, card designs, and I just can't get the hang of clear stamp images. Such great tips. Thanks MayMay. What is the difference of ink types? What do you use "distress" for?
Maymay, you can grind down your teflon bone folder to a point. Heat the edge for smoothing it out. Great tips and tricks! Thank you!
#replay. Interesting information on cutting.
Watching replay. Loving all the tips. Thank you. Now I know why I didn’t get email saying my order (glue press) has shipped. Hope you get it fixed soon.
Love the Q & A. the rises & strawberries!
Tim holtz and Simon (Ranger) stamps are either red rubber or photopolymer
Does the yellow tape leave a residue on cardstock
Thanks for all the tips.
LIGHTBULB 💡!!!! My score took is too thick!!! It’s not meee 😂
This was excellent ❤!
How do you store your die? I have so many that I don’t know how to store them!im talkingover100 maybe more!
My cousin and her husband did woodwork. She went to a job and did measuring for a cabinet with her tape measurer, She was very careful. Well he made the cabinet using his tape measurer. Guess what. They had to do a lot of extra work!
Sorry not related to todays video, before Christmas I made for my son a photo folio, which I loved, but I can’t find the video, it was the one you made the folio for your daughter in law, for Christmas. Please could you point me in the right direction
Thank you ❤
The trimmer is my downfall! Thanks!!! You got me!!
Astigmatism causes problems keeping things straight.
What is the name of the creasing tool that is square with a triangle on one side? And is it sold by itself? Thank you!
Hi that is the Dress My Craft Ergo Bone Folder, we have them on order and they should be back in stock soon, thanks
ON MY TRIMMER: I would love if the area from the blade to 1 or 1 and a half inches was sticky. Just lightly. Because it is so hard to hold the paper when I have a 2 inch width that needs to be cut to 1; either side of the blade is too short to hold.
@Melissazabower339, that's an awesome idea!
I wonder if a 1/4" piece of oldish doublestick tape would work for that?
I remember seeing a tip where another piece of paper was taped (low tack/yellow tap) butted up against what you are cutting, to be used as a handle. That way you can move the small piece you are cutting around perfectly and hold it still without getting your fingers in the way. Hope that helps!
I'm having some problems adjusting to this new trimmer from Spellbinders. I am using mine with the lifty arm on the left side. I am right handed. The trimmer just feels awkward...Maybe I'm using it backwards. Please help me.
I watched one of your videos recently where you showed an easy way to make a pull down waterfall but now I can’t find it. I forgot to save it and I have a ton of time looking for it unsuccessfully. Do you know where it is? I don’t even know if it was recent or not because I’ve been watching several of your old videos as well. ps, looking forward to your Thursday livestream project!
Hi I think this is the one you are looking for: th-cam.com/video/R-nzC_XHLdk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=B_qmsV3fjZHMIZzl
A great tip to find previous video you have watched is to go to your YT history
I think for me it is going from cut to score. Plus, sometimes the paper it's self is out of kilter.
It's been awhile, so I don't remember which way it went but when folding after scoring, one way, it doesn't line up as well as the other.
at 18:00 on the video, that explains my original statement. I just turned it over and didn't have as much of a problem.
Where do you have your blac k line on score board
Hi we that at the 6" mark
❣️💗❣️
Where do u find that big mat u work on
HI, here is the link for Glass Board Studios bit.ly/3sjcA1U use code MAYMAY20 for 20% off
Won’t stay long and there’s still half an hour left of the video. Oh May May 😂
Doesn’t Dress My Craft have a scoreboard with black numberings?🤗💖🦋
Hi htey do have a great scoreboard with black numbers. Do you need that link? Thanks
Just started the replay. I hate my trimmer. Every piece of paper seems to be crooked no matter how carefully I position my paper.
WHERE DO WE ASK QUESTIONS FOR SEWING YT CHANNEL?
Hi you can ask those questions on the sewing channel at www.youtube.com/@maymaysewedit
I had signed up for the “made it kit”, and I never received a password. Is this due to your email issues?
Hi if you signed up for the Made It Club and did not receive the Welcome email, please contact us , either by the online chat at maymaymadeit.com or call the store and we can assist you with that password, thanks
It’s homemade not Hallmark 😉
I had to laugh when you said about sending people cards and then critiquing your cards and then not sending them any more. I had somebody in my life where she knew I made homemade cards and she asked me to send her one so I sent it to her she never even thanked me, or let me even know that she got it, but she was demanding not, OK her I should say her exact words to me Ro can you send me a card not even nicely not even saying please
Just can you send me a card?
