Awesome stuff man! I have an 06 STi & have wanted to do this for like 3 years & couldn't find any info on it! I have a 15 steering wheel laying around the garage & the Axxess harness, but havent had the time to mess with it! 1) I just subbed because this is awesome! 2) I may be reaching out to you for tips when I do this myself. 3) On my vids, I'll definitely link to your channel, videos, & company. 👍🏻👍🏻
There was a kit I purchased, that went from the radio, to the wires out of the back of the clock spring, down near the obd2 port. That’s where the wires from the clock spring run to, that general area
Damn, this is a ton of work & a bunch of power tools I don't have. 😕🙁😒😞 I just wonder if it would've been easier and/or less time consuming if one were to just do a complete steering column (all the way down to where it connects to the front axle) from a 2015+ STi & swap the entire thing over to the SG Foz or GD STi? Thus, my additional question after the above possible column swap, is... if the entire steering columns between the GD STi/SG Foz & the 2015+ STi's are the same exact length when considering leg room size under the driver's side dashboard? Cuz if the entire columns could just "easily" swap over, you wouldn't need to worry about messing up the soldering connection & spending time boring out the middle of the steering wheel + grinding off the outside metal tabs of the steering wheel?
It would be much more involved then a simple column swap. The key cylinder that your key goes into is mounted permanently on the steering column. To remove, the “bolts” holding them in have you be drilled out. There would be 10x more things involved in swapping a whole steering column.

For the radio controls to work, do you just run the controls from the clock spring to the radio?

Sweet. Do you have a photo of the diagram? My wheel came in the mail today. Gunna do this this weekend!
My radio says it has that module built in so I assume I can run the blue and white wires directly in and it should work
@@jacobmayoral7614 Shoot me a message on another platform, and I will try and help you out. Facebook is probably easiest if you have that.
How do I wire the steering wheel controls for the audio? I’m planning on using the same module that you used.
Is it possible to replace it with a 2017-2018 steering wheel?
Looks good. I was going to cheat and use the steering column
Was wondering if you could do this to a 2013 sti . Thanks for the video .☝🏽💯. Gonna subscribe
You might be able to. It would depend on if the splines are the same or not.
@@_robertburger ok thanks definitely gonna look into that . Also gonna do the 17 plus Sti cluster swap .
Great video.

Dope!
If i don’t have the volume control on mine forester would the wiring harness still be able to work?
The cruise will still work even if you don’t wire up the volume
Is the old Airbag compatible or do you replace it with the wheel?
You have to use all the 2015+ wheel stuff
Would a 2015 wrx one work instead on a sti wheel?
Also it would work on an 05 xt forester pre facelift though
It should work. And the wiring except volume buttons will work
What's the radio

how much for you to do all this and just send me one? Lol
