This greatly helped! And similar to your experience, I had a sock clogged in (must have been from previous tenant). All is fine with my washer now, without paying no technician. Big thanks to you!
Thankyou so much for this helpful video, especially making sure to include having a towel put down before you drain the washing machine! My hubby was out of town for the weekend, and this saved me a mechanic bill!
Worked for me thanks. I didn't have to pull out the black tube because my washer is outside. I just pulled beige cap off and let the water flow on the ground and removed all the junk from the filter. It was disgusting. The washer I'm using came with my apartment so the things lodged in the filter are a combination of my filth and the previous tenants... yuck. Thanks again.
You literally must have some sort of a clog in the line. I can’t think of any other reason. If you paid to have somebody replace this pump to fix that problem and it didn’t fix the problem you need to call whoever did the service and tell them they didn’t fix it.
Why is the filter torque limiting in both directions? It should only be for tightening. Perhaps it's a manufacturing defect. Torque limiting in the direction of loosening prevents the filter from being removed and you have to use plyers to remove it.
My washer filter at the bottom of my Samsung never has any dirt or hair in it anymore. The first time it did now it doesn’t and now it’s leaking and giving me an 5C code. I’ve checked the drain hose. I’ve checked the water filter. what else could it be?
I found stenching semi-gelatinous, putrefying mouse, that met a grotesque death past the filter, in the tube. When I tried pulling it through the front, with a hook, the mouse cadaver shredded, apart, entrails, an arm, and part of a rear leg got pulled out. The fermented mouse then went from putrid to pestilent. I had to remove remove the drain hose and flush it with water from a water hose. When the grizzly black clog jetted out of the hose and the water started running from black to clear, I reinstalled the hose and all is doing fine. It’s not spinning because it’s not allowed to in whatever mode it’s trying transition to. It’s trying to protect your pump. Check for a clog. If it’s not, you might be in need of parts
I actually have to drain it this way daily now... what is the next thing to actually FIX the issue. It's is probably the pump... which we had replaced while it was under the extended 3 year warranty... twice.
That’s extremely lame. You’re not getting good wash cycles then. Maybe try a different brand pump. Tell your service person not to use a cheap aftermarket pump.
+1 for sock sack. Also I lobby for sentence usage such as, “This is gonna be a big messy load… better get the sock sack ready”. Safe for the kids with an eye wink for the parents.
This greatly helped! And similar to your experience, I had a sock clogged in (must have been from previous tenant). All is fine with my washer now, without paying no technician. Big thanks to you!
Heck yeah!!! Save that money! So glad you got it sorted.

Life saver, thank you

If you clean the filter (it was definitely clogged) but the machine still stops and throws the same code, what would be the next step?
I would check if something made it past the filter and is clogging water leaving the machine.
Helpful, thank you ... (Could have edited out some of the real time footage, but...)
Oh I agree. But some people enjoy seeing it all so I leave a lot in.
Hi I need your help. I had the pump replaced with new o 8:07 ne and it still doesn't work. The error code says 5E.
You literally must have some sort of a clog in the line. I can’t think of any other reason. If you paid to have somebody replace this pump to fix that problem and it didn’t fix the problem you need to call whoever did the service and tell them they didn’t fix it.
Thank you.
Unless burning smell, then pump is probably bad. My washer still wouldn’t drain after cleaning/checking filter.
If you’ve burned out the pump, you been fighting clogs for a looooong time
Thank you so much man
Happy to help!
Thank You so Much for sharing g this
My pleasure
Why is the filter torque limiting in both directions? It should only be for tightening.
Perhaps it's a manufacturing defect.
Torque limiting in the direction of loosening prevents the filter from being removed and you have to use plyers to remove it.
Sounds right for some machines.
I accidentally took off the white cap before draining the tube. Is that going to damage the machine at all? Just curious cause water spilt everywhere.
Nope. Just clean up the water. It’s fine.
Thank you so much
You're most welcome

You might have a dead pump. Or a failing pump. I think at this point you have to call an appliance guy.
Thanks man having the same problem what an easy fix😂
Glad to help

Lmao mine had half a dog, thanks man
Heck yeah! Glad it helped!
What if I have 5c message AND it won’t spin
It’s not spinning because it’s not allowed to in whatever mode it’s trying transition to. It’s trying to protect your pump. Check for a clog. If it’s not, you might be in need of parts
When I turn the filter knob the filter never comes out. It just clicks when I turn it.
Mine was stuck because of a pen, I just used raw power with pliers and broke the pen in two, the plug came right out with all the rest
You might have something large stuck inside. Who knows. Maybe get out the pliers….. not sure. Tread lightly.
What if it's not a sock.Pump??
I’d see if something is beyond the filter housing. I’d check the entire discharge hose top to bottom. If there’s nothing, pump is a strong possibility
Thankyou
Happy to help!
I actually have to drain it this way daily now... what is the next thing to actually FIX the issue. It's is probably the pump... which we had replaced while it was under the extended 3 year warranty... twice.

You’re welcome. ☺️
I couldn't get mines to even do the spin like you did
Time for the long slow drain with the black hose
I like the murdering going on in the background - kids, what a joy...thanks for the tip though!
It’s true! Non stop noise. But they’re happy so…. I cope. Lol
Can't u just turn it off and on again?
That doesn’t remove the clog. This isn’t a 1990s Microsoft ThinkPad. Lol
Thanks…
Welcome
I did that and it still is doing the same thing.
You might have a clog beyond the filter. See if you can look in the filter hole and see anything way back there.
Or just use a mesh sock bag.
A romantic idea for people not running 3 loads or more a day.
Out of respect for the remaining football season, and my gender, may we change the reference from, "sock bag," to, "sock sack?"
+1 for sock sack. Also I lobby for sentence usage such as, “This is gonna be a big messy load… better get the sock sack ready”. Safe for the kids with an eye wink for the parents.
Would the PC board also be a problem?
Thank you, i found a covid 19 mask stuck in there
Classic clog!
Hey I don’t have a damn filter tf am I supposed to do lol
You’re getting the code but there’s no filter to remove?
There’s no door or no filter location
How strange. Must be a different model. Google the model number and it should give you a user manual to find where it’s located.
I try that
Good!
Hair pennys ect
The usual suspects.
found coins
So you got paid to be your own appliance repair tech! Nice! Haha.
Please reset..it will work !
It will work but you haven’t fixed the issue and will eventually burn out the pump. Clear the clog.
Thank you
Thank you!
