      I always try to give a decent answer that i feel would help the angler. I like my 4K but haven't used this newer 5K yet. I do have 2 5K's but are the older C-series. Recently gave one of those orange boxed units away to a friend in Maui with a travel rod as he lost everything.

    Thank you sir for the information
    I have nasci 5000 xg wich braid size should i use if im targeting king fish from the shore ?

      I guess that depends on the size range of the Kings. So many ways of tackling this. All braid. All mono. Braid with mono top shot might be an option to consider. You'd have yardage from braid for runs while the mono top shot will do better because of the teeth abrasion. What sizes are you encountering from the shorelines? If it was me i'd use 20lb braid as my main. My leader i'd go 30lb mono unless you like that immediate hook-set then go 40lb fluoro (plus most fluoros have excellent scratch resistant coatings). Fluoro you can set the drag & the fish will hook itself whereas mono you need to give a good yank to help that hook set. But i still prefer mono leaders myself because i do need some "give" as using braided mainline provides no give. So many options. Choose what works best for you over time. Having several rigs w/different configurations will give you a faster option. Good luck!

    Aloha @ScubaChris,I have a Penn battle3 4000hs for my whipping rod? Should I put 30lbs or 40lbs braid on it,I have 30lbs Jbraid on it for plugging in the SF beaches already..Just subscribed to ur channel and enjoying ur content 🤙🏽

      Sounds like you got it. I put 40lb braid on 6K/7K reels, 50lb on my 8K. Really depends on what you're targeting. On my 5K's with limited line capacity i spool on 20lb braid. If my 5K has a C-type "deep-spool" that holds more line than normal then i go 30lb. If you're targeted species is the type that likes to run i'd go lighter for lineage. That's why i go 20lb on my 5K. Go slightly heavier otherwise. I really like 20lb. I've jigged Shibi's off the FAD's using 20lb braid & i pull in 8-20lb sizes np. Largest was a little over 50lb. I try to use my best rods when i do this. If it's a "so-so" rod i go with a slightly larger reel w/heavier line. After awhile my arm & shoulder pays the price of me being "cheap". So i tend to have both types available. Hope what i do has helped you. Of course you must adapt to your available species & equipment as nothing is written in stone. Good luck.

    Hi thanks for the video. What is the difference of the 4000XGFC and the 5000XGFC? I wanted to get one for my 7" Shimano Raider 8kg spinning rod. Thanks

      The 5000 & 4000 basically share the same body. The difference is in the spools. 5K spools are larger and/or deeper. So it can hold more line. Same principal between 2500 & 3000 reels.

    How do you make it left handed

    • @ScubaChris
      @ScubaChris  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      See the handle? Unscrew that off and screw it in on the other side. And the port cap on the other side? Screw that off and reverse it to where the handle ORIGINALLY was. Standard for all spinning reels. But on conventionals you need to purchase either L or R.
