    So many things I wish I could do like Federer.
    0:24 The forehand rocket literally out of nowhere
    0:31 The easy-AF-looking perfect return
    0:34 The just-over-the-net sidespin dropshot
    0:52 The zero-backswing monster running forehand
    I mean I've played hundreds of thousands of points by now and never done any of those shots once, and Roger does ALL OF THEM *IN THE SPAN OF A FEW GAMES.*

    Federer’s movement here looked like he was missing some pep, and he wasn’t moving quite as fast. This was probably the telltale sign that he wasn’t fully himself, as he would have to take a medical timeout before losing to Nalbandian in the finals. That’s why it’s so important to study matches beforehand to see if there is a weakness that you can exploit. Not sure if players after this match noticed and took advantage of it. But Federer definitely looked a bit slow here. Even his movement from 2009 after looks quicker and had more pep.

    Federer was extremely aggressive, almost invincible at that time. Any shot that lacks even a bit of depth and power will result in his sharp forehand attack or drop shot. Only the Djokovic fans known for their stupidity and bad manner will try to conceive this as a weak era and deny Federer's strength.

  • @pauljohnson6019
    @pauljohnson6019 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You could see glimpses of Federer choking here though, should have finished without going to tie-break, if there's one thing Lubricic should have picked up, as a coach, watching these tapes, is to make Federer more efficient and steady when finishing the last point, not giving cheap points away, making sure the volleys are punched away and his serve is accurate.
