    at 4:09 thank you! I watched two other bad videos before this one, and I felt the prongs were wrongly done, they bent them outside, instead towards the middle. And to use a fleece in between is a great tip!

      @Marble Arts ah I see, but at the other 2 videos, they didn't use any kind of fleece or cardboard support, only the thin main fabric, and bent the prongs outwards, looked very fragile, the fabric won't last long, the way they did, anyways thanks.

      If you bend the prongs inward like she did in this video you are going to have extra bulk that is why most people bend the prongs outward

    Super helpful and clear tutorial! I knew I should probably reinforce the fabric, but the extra layers of batting and glue means it's really not going anywhere soon!

    Thanks Janelle. What a great tutorial! And I just had to go to your website to check out the pattern for that featured wallet because it was so cute, and came across a tote that I'm now madly in love with and purchasing the pattern for.

    Great tutorial! In the next few days I’m going to be making seatbelt covers with faux fur and thickish grip dog fabric. Do you think this would work well with my project? I’ve seen with minky, but not faux fur. It’s not a super long pile. I was just trying to figure out what would work best. Thanks!

    Hello Janelle, do you have the pattern for the bag you are demonstrating on?

    • @JanelleMacKayEmmalineBags
      @JanelleMacKayEmmalineBags  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI! Yes, I have the pattern for that, but because of commitments to a club that it was released in, I cannot sell it publicly until Dec 1, 2018. It's called the "Road Trip Wallet" and comes in 3 versions, 2 sizes. It will be sold on the website, emmalinebags.com in both printed paper and PDF versions. I hope that helps!

    Why do these videos only show you how to install the one side the magnetic snaps have two pieces male and female so why doesn’t anybody show you how to do the female part?

    • @JanelleMacKayEmmalineBags
      @JanelleMacKayEmmalineBags  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! You would use the same method for both the male and female ends - your pattern should have the measurements for placement.

    • @dcwatashi
      @dcwatashi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JanelleMacKayEmmalineBags I should have written my comment a little more descriptive. I don’t have a pattern but what I meant to say was if you’re making your own cross body bag for example and you want to have those snaps how do you determine how far down the female snap has to go to match up to the male snap
      I guess that is what scrap fabric is for!!!
      😺👍🏻😹🤪
