Hi Ragu, Thanks for the video tutorial and the Metaoptics software, I am trying to upload my own data to create GDS file but it cannot done. I used xlsx file format with only two row but it doesn't work. Can you please help me with that?
Great tutorial ! Is there any tool that can be used for creating a polar array for a linear array of circles for me to eventually create a circular symmetric metalens surface?
@@RaghuDharmavarapuiitm Thanks Raghu for the feedback. I have an excel file containing the positions and radii for an linear array of circles (mostly on positive side of x-axis). i now want to polar array each one of these circles (got the angular increments for each original circle in the same excel file) to create the full metalens gds2 file. i know your software starts with the phase profile. any other tool that you can think of in this situation? Thanks.
Hello, how can I get the phase for a certain radius in lumerical FDTD. I sued DFT monitor and after the simulation there is no phase term to visualize. Thank you
first of all, a big thanks, watching this video i'm confident enough to start my PhD research on metasurfaces. If you wanna collaborate, please reply back to me, looking forward to hearing from you. thanks
Thank you for the video. Could you tell how to discretise phase profile (can it be done in matlab). And then how to know the location where we should place our scatterer.
Hi. You can create your phase mask as a grayscale image with 4/8/16 phase levels(equivalent to the corresponding number of gray levels). For example, 4 grayscale levels correspond to 0, 90, 180, 270 transmission phases etc... You can upload this image in MetaOptics and choose the choice of wavelength and create the GDS layout.
@@RaghuDharmavarapuiitm using metaoptics I have created GDS layout. I want to do simulation of light propagation from metalens. Can I use GDS layout as my geometry in software like COMSOL.
Hello! Thank you very much for helpful explanation! I have a question: can this software provide a polarization metagrating design (I mean, a diffraction grating whose orders behave as polarizers, for example, as mentioned in paper "Matrix Fourier optics enables a compact full-Stokes polarization camera"). And if it is, how should I set the Phase Design to implement that? Thank you very much and have a nice day!
Hello sir.. its metasurface kan generate a vortex beam?? And how creating them to join together..sir may i know details about how you creating metasurface and your jurnal as reference?
Hi. PML layer comes by default in the Lumerical software, you just have to choose it. PML means a perfectly matched layer, ideally, it should absorb all the energy that hits it and should not reflect any energy back into the simulation region.
Very informative......I would suggest this video for any one interested in optical metametarials

I am so grateful for your efforts on this video
Thank you for, simply explaining metalens and metasurface
great explanation to the metalens, it was so much insightful.

Hi thanks for the great video. Can I ask what periodic length should be chosen for the simulation? 19:00
what should be the thickness of the ground plane? what parameters does it depend on?
A very nice video for the beginner! Thanks a lot!
Thank you very much
Thank you,sir!

Hello! This really helped a lot. I would like to know how do we get the phase. As you mentioned, the phase changes with radius.
thank you for your shareing
Gud,we r very proud of u little Einstein
Thank you Raghu.
Huygens principle from high school lol. We didn't do the same high school then !!
I have to say this vedio helps alot! thank you very much!
Thanks for nice video .Is the Software Link for the software working ?
Thank you for, simply explain metalens and metasurface!
Excellent presentation
the software doesn't open, shows "failed to execute script metaoptics'
Thank you so much for the nice tutorial
sir, can u please explain as a video , how can we obtain the phase v/s radius graph? I am not able to obtain the graph.

You can download the MetaOptics source code from gitHub and try to to add the functionality that you are looking for.

Excellent video sir..is is possible to implement same concept for RF/MW??
if possible how to create GDA layer??
Fins would be huge and lens would be huge.

@@manishkala6292 Yes. I think you can do it. In Comsol, you need to specify the refractive index, height etc.
Ok thank you
