      In some of your videos where you've used a live catch trap you've ended up keeping the mice you caught. In other videos you've shown us some of the mice you've been breeding in captivity. I can't help but wonder if a lot of these rodents you're catching in your videos are actually the rodents you've been breeding. You'd think after a couple months of making your videos you would have cleared out any rodent infestations. It makes sense to me that you would need to replenish your pest supply in order to keep making content.

    How does it work? Capacitor discharge or transformer to a million volts?? How many shots do you get from the batteries?

    • @paulcopeland9035
      @paulcopeland9035 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gotta be capacitor discharge. Definitely needs a DC power source.

    • @totallyfrozen
      @totallyfrozen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends. A single high voltage shock, like a bug zapper, might imply a capacitor. A constant current (which you might hear with a constant buzzing), might imply a transformer.
      The old,Victor trap that I have delivers a constant current to electrocute the animal. I assume this one is the same.

    I guess this trap is fine if you like expensive, gimmicky, high tech traps. Not to mention it only handles one rat at a time.
    Best to stick with the "walk the plank" or "rolling log" style traps. Very inexpensive, simple, effective and catches more than one rat with no intervention. 😉

    • @carlosd5103
      @carlosd5103 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      From what I seen the "rolling log" kind of trap, works well on mice but you will need a real big bucket and roller to catch rats.
      On a regular bucket, the rat just jumps in and out of the bucket.
      I think, I remember in one of his video, a big rat rescuing a small rat from those type of traps.
      But for mice, you are correct, those have to be the best traps.

    • @promontorium
      @promontorium 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't seen a roller catch any rats.

    • @MelkiorMonster
      @MelkiorMonster 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This one might handle Norway Rats who have a tendency to jump out of a trap though. It would still be a process of luring them in by having it turned off and letting them in and out for a few night but I think once you "train" them into it you could get some pest rats in this one.
