I really enjoyed this format of you painting along while discussing a factions lore, great idea! Another suggestion for when you don't have models of that army to paint would be to add photos of the armies models painted up in different paint schemes along with the usual art. You could even create a tag on Instagram where people could share their finished models and maybe have them showcased in an episode. A place to share photos, get inspiration, and encourage others. 😁
A few seconds in and I am already all in on this idea - the format of painting a model and having the lore to go with it sounds awesome. Eager to see where this goes!

This is a really nice idea, I do think the artwork added to the videos though. On a personal note I really hope the celestant prime gets some more stories soon :/

Love this. Sacrosanct Chamber is my jam, and watching you paint a model is a fantastic idea. The SCE battletome (p 14) mentions the Sacrosanct Chamber has a role in the Dawnbringer Crusades as well. They work with the Relictor temple to construct Star Bridges in Stormkeeps to help usher souls back to Azyr. Would be interested to hear more about Stormkeep lore.
I prefer to have the artwork behind, but if this helps you timewise to paint your armies, go for it! 😉 Thanks for another great story as always!

I think this style is pretty neat, haven't seen anything else like this. That being said I don't really "watch" the videos, I put it on while doing things like painting or chores. So it still works for me
I think the video was really nice! If you do more it would be lovely to have some interaction between the lore description and the model, like pointing bits out on them that you're talking about? There's so many bits on models I think get overlooked but could be cool to reveal about from the lore aka tokens, weapons, symbols etc
Hey Doug! I think you need to keep the music as it adds awesome atmosphere if you’re just listening, and put the painting in between decent chunks of slides. It’s good to mix it up but I’ve been following your channel for 3 years now because what you’ve been doing works. I reckon both personally.

Reading the comments I agree the new style of having a model being painted is very sweet, showing something model wise that relates to the topic is a very cool new take to the videos. Having a few images at the beginning to set the scene then jumping into the model I think is a good path
I like the format. I actually listened to this while painting tonight and it works just fine for me.

I don’t mind the painting, but it didn’t really add anything for me. Thanks for the videos, by the way! I’m not sure how much extra editing it might take, or the legality, but during the artwork slideshow lore videos I’d enjoy seeing box art (or any painted minis) of the miniatures being discussed. I haven’t watched all of your videos so perhaps you already do this.

The format works much better imo! Despite me usually listening in the background it feels more natural, less scripted and the bits about not getting paint somewhere make it somewhat more relatable? Idk, great work anyway
What IF? You had lore art like the normal videos then put a small square up in the corner where you also paint a mini. I think that would be really rad.

I don't mind the painting bit, it's interesting but it would be nice if,if available you can show a few images when introducing new topics, characters and stuff so that the lore can sink in better for newbies like myself
Love the videos in either fashion. Change it up with a little of both ideas? If there's cool art for something specific. Give it a moment on the screen, then back to you painting.

This does have a nice twist to your content, and I did enjoy the video, but your original style is just what made you, you. It personally doesn't matter to me what you do, I would still watch anyways. Maybe when there is a brand-new segment of lore released you can stick with the original artwork style and when there are smaller/side stories that you want to discuss you can use this style.
I think this is a wonderful idea although personally I feel like shorter, more fast paced videos would add so much to this

I do like the format, but I think you at least need to show the models you are talking about when you go into the individual units. Like maybe edit a picture on screen for a bit then go back to the painting cam. Especially with factions like Stormcast who have such similar sounding names for everything.
Mix in some pictures doe.
