But Jeff always told me that his favorite times in the business involved touring with Jackson Browne. Oh the great stories he would tell. Jeff hadn't heard of Foxes and Fossils but when I played this F&F cover of "Doctor My Eyes" for him on my laptop before he passed away, his smile was wide and he said "Wow, these guys are so good.... JB would definitely approve". I'm sure he does Jeff. RIP my friend.

Toby and Scott carry this song so well, every detail reproduced to perfection. Wow! The expressions of the ever-youthful singers are freewheeling as they usually are at this Twisted Taco Venue. Good skillful singing by Tim and good drum timing by Johnny.

It wasn't until maybe the third time I heard this, I realized what great drumming was happening -- listening to the snare hit placements, fills, and pocket drumming! As much as we all love the foxes( and face it we do) no one would have any idea who F&F was if those fossils couldn't lay it down like they do. So, here's to the Fossils. You guys rock. Even though this is one of the oldest videos, I come back to it often because it's one of the best.

I feel exactly the same. There are some very famous players out there who rely on complex, highly expensive equipment to get a good sound,. Yes, I'm talking to you, Edge, These folks simply rely on talent,.
Yeah, it doesn't appear to have a curved top. It's as bright as a Stratocaster, but with better low end. You gotta love those heavy Gibson guitars. They are well worth the sore shoulders.
Loooong ago before most of you were born, at the age of 16 I found myself in a startup rock band playing the drums. Never got off the actual ground as such ( My dad grounded me after 6 months of plummeting grades) - but it has left me with an ear for the percussion side of things and an appreciation for solid drummers. This gentleman is undoubtedly one such drummer - soooo competent and smooth - you have my admiration Sir! Oh and the band? Underrated springs to mind - the harmonies - the guitar work - its all sooo good! -

Recorded directly off the board to an Alesis HD24 recorder, levels and EQ adjusted in the studio and then manually synched to a three camera video recording.
I love this era in your story having sat in various local outlets and listened to local bands pounding out covers. You're better that that, and subsequent evolutions prove it. Traffic passing by and people climbing in and out of cars in the background, etc.
I feel sorry for the kids growing up on a diet of rap and hip hop. That will be the legacy of their generation. I'm SO glad this music was what I grew up on, and there is such an excellent band as F&F to keep it fresh. Thanks.
