This brings back memories of a girlfriend that I had in 1966. A terrible experience with LSD/ STP resulted in a serious psychotic episode that required frequent hospitalizations. This was not due to one 'trip,' but extensive regular use of LSD, and then STP aka DOM. We were living in San Francisco during the STP debacle (many freakouts!). Everything began to overwhelm her as the years rolled by, and her depression worsened. She finally succeeded in taking her life after many attempts in 1997. I love David Crosby, too, but it is Stephen Still singing the lead - AND- he wrote the song AND is playing the guitar and probably a couple of other instruments! ❤
At the time of this song, Fall 1969, I was a 14 year old 9th grader. This song, that time, and who I was back then are all a part of me-like a foundation to a house-and will be until I, you, and everyone else have passed-and beyond...
I remember hearing this on 92.5 KZPS all the time in Dallas/Ft. Worth when I was a child growing up. Now that station does not play any kind of those songs anymore!
@John Golofit I was 16 and lived in Taipei. We'd go downtown and buy bootleg albums, made in Taiwan, in paper and plastic covers. This was one of 'em, along with Mountain, Buffalo Springfield, Jefferson Airplane, and others I can't immediately recall (brainfart!)! Good times, for sure!!!
Stephin Stills on acoustic guitar ... what can one say. Crosby's continually inventive scratching out in the background is infinitely inventive. This and Bluebird when Stills was with Buffalo Springfield are 2 of the most tempo and melody changing tunes in rock n' roll history. Both wonderfully inventive and entertaining with great vocal harmonies ! What's not to like ! 2 of my all time top 10 favorites.
RIP David Crosby....you lived a lot longer than a lot of your contemporaries and longer than a lot of people would have expected...thanks for all the great music.
Three groups that immediately come to mind with great vocal harmonies: CSN, Beatles, and Hollies. Graham Nash also a member of The Hollies. I agree, their voices complement each other perfectly.

Hi Robin, I too lost my Father 2 years ago this coming October. I find myself over whelmed with emotions hearing a song or watching a YT vid. I end up bawling my eyes out for what seems like an hour. This is such a memorable, amazing, beautiful song. My father played it on guitar when I was very young. And my grandparents would put it on the stereo when I slept overnight at their house on the weekends. My gramma just passed away yesterday morning, and I am hurting so much right now. Being 13 years old, this was entering the airwaves in the Netherlands in 1969 via the free radio Veronica broadcast outlet. Exceptional harmonies crept into the airwaves and it’s audience. Not aware that this would become defining period music, this was absorbed by a young adult in all it’s greatness. Now at 67 not equalled since.

I love David Crosby, too, but it is Stephen Still singing the lead - AND- he wrote the song AND is playing the guitar and probably a couple of other instruments! ❤
Its our job to make sure this lives on.
Steven Stills is almost deaf❤

He's running well though
A DEVINE HARMONY OF UNPARALLELED EXCELLENCE, TIMELESS, SUBLIME, AND TRUE MAGIC.
At the time of this song, Fall 1969, I was a 14 year old 9th grader. This song, that time, and who I was back then are all a part of me-like a foundation to a house-and will be until I, you, and everyone else have passed-and beyond...
Same here. Entering 9th grade Fall of 1969. We are in our mid 60's and hubs asked me just now to play this song. Brings back memories.
I remember hearing this on 92.5 KZPS all the time in Dallas/Ft. Worth when I was a child growing up. Now that station does not play any kind of those songs anymore!
My dad turned 18 in Feb 1969.. an interesting time to become an "adult" (and eligible for the draft)
@John Golofit
I was 16 and lived in Taipei.
We'd go downtown and buy bootleg albums, made in Taiwan, in paper and plastic covers. This was one of 'em, along with Mountain, Buffalo Springfield, Jefferson Airplane, and others I can't immediately recall (brainfart!)! Good times, for sure!!!
@@drt-abrat1256 Precious memory postcards that never yellow or fray around the edges but are beginning to dim…
The harmony and singing is amazing on this song.
Some of the best vocal harmonies ever.
Agreed. Voices of the angels
One of the greatest songs ever written & sung!!
Their harmony is incredible!!!!!
Three groups that immediately come to mind with great vocal harmonies: CSN, Beatles, and Hollies. Graham Nash also a member of The Hollies. I agree, their voices complement each other perfectly.
Darn! I forgot to mention The Byrds. One of their members: David Crosby.
I miss my dad so much. He passed two years ago. This song reminds me of better memories with eachother..❤
When music was music. Love and peace be with you and yours. May your father rest in peace. Always remember him, and honor his memory.
Cherish those memories forever life goes by fast...I see the end of my days my friends have passed ...one day you will know this feeling skol from the Minnesota Vikings
Hi Robin, I too lost my Father 2 years ago this coming October. I find myself over whelmed with emotions hearing a song or watching a YT vid.
I end up bawling my eyes out for what seems like an hour. It feels good to get it out but does nothing to lessen how much I miss my folks.
Let it Robin, connect with your emotions and never forget your Dad. 😪
@aussieabe8421 stay strong. And honestly, reach out if you need to. I'll listen !!
I lost my father at age 11 in 72 and miss him like it was yesterday , I’m 63 now and wish he were here he turned me onto the best music !
A masterpiece both in harmony and lyrics....A gorgeous song
Perfection in every way. For my Dad who passed away 5/12/20. Xx
This song always makes me think of my dad being happy as a clam jamming out. It's been 6 months without him, and what I wouldn't do to have him back.
❤️
love to all you struggling with loss. this is definitely perfection.

Listening to this beautiful song on the day of David Crosby's passing. I'm heartbroken. Ripp sweet poet of music
This whole album was off the chain. No one has ever come close to those 3. Rip David. See you on the other side
There’s such depth to this. No matter how many times I’ve listened it always seen new! Really for me the greatest rock composition of all time.
I sometimes marvel at how mere mortal human beings can compose something like this.
Yep!
I Agree Not Fucking Pet Sounds Okay!!!🎤🎤🎤🎸🎸🎼🎶🎵❤️
CSN Forever!!!
As an old Hippy and now-a-days a monk in a Monastery far away from North America I can tell you after many years to hear the sweet music from CSN to be shockingly beautiful bringing back such sweet memories of smokin a fatty and sucking back a brew….. sitting in front of massive speakers powered by an Ampzilla! 4:53 Thankyou for the sweet memories harkening me back to the late 60’s and early 70’s.
do all hippies inevitably end up as monks or nuns? 🙏
Irresistible harmonies within a wonderful recording - Born in 1954 and like so many others - how lucky were we!
'51 for me. I call it the..golden age..of music. We had the best.

No other song gives me as much joy and happiness. This is life!
I can't get over how good this song is.
I was just thinking how great their vocals are. Lyrics have amazing depth. Can't figure out if Friday's and Sunday's are for drugs or cooch???
This was normal for a song back then.
The bass drop though.... dang. I remember hearing CSNY alllll the way down the street from where I grew up. My dad would be BLASTING it while cleaning. Miss those days. RIP David Crosby & My dad.
Saddened to know that David Crosby has died . His music will live in our hearts . His music made my youth enjoyable. Full of memories when I hear his songs. Goodbye to one of the greatest.
This is such a memorable, amazing, beautiful song. My father played it on guitar when I was very young. And my grandparents would put it on the stereo when I slept overnight at their house on the weekends. My gramma just passed away yesterday morning, and I am hurting so much right now.
I love you so much gramma. You gave me such happy moments, and wherever you are now, I hope grampa is there holding your hand.
♥
Hello Alice sorry to hear about your Grandmother's passing..at least you have beautiful great memories 😊 ❤️..I never knew my Grandparents unfortunately 😢😢
I am sorry for your loss, grandparents are so important. They give love expecting nothing in return. Just the joy of time well spent with loved ones.
One of my all time favorite songs..
R.I.P, Mr. Crosby..Godspeed 💗✌
One of the best songs
RIP David Crosby, thanks for all the wonderful music that you made.
Opening line says it all, don,t know what anymore. The 70,s were so much more simple, more safer in my opinion. Thank you CSNandY.
Words we guys wish we had said to that one special girl who got away.
Priceless🇺🇸💯😁
One of the great masterpieces of popular music.
Can truly just make you cry. It’s so good.
Today is Sept 19 2020, and scrolling the comments, I see so many recent comments, saying this takes you back.. Us old hippies know where to turn when life throws lemons at us! Right here evidently, hahaha! Judy Blue Eyes takes me back to a simpler time, and the stresses of today are put on the back burner.... speaking of "burn".. join me in burning one for peace :)
Puff... Puff... Pass! ☮️

The more I hear this song the more I appreciate it.
Agreed.
Can Crosby, Stills & Nash ever get old? It pertains to life today just as much as when written & recorded. Then you have much it is loved.. listen to the music & that is all you need. This group was powerful in it’s peacefulness!
57 graduated from high school and the eighties listened to all this kind of music got to see this band twice in the ninetyeah gotta love the music you all have a very merry Christmas
You as well 🌟
I'm so thankful I grew up with music like this. I'm so thankful I'm at the end of my life and not the beginning. Maranatha!

At the age of 14 , I was introduced to the harmonies of CS&N and adding Y to the mix didn't disappoint either. Thanks !

One of the greatest songs ever!!!
Growing up in commissioned housing in Scotland during the 70's, we loved Madness and the Specials and all things Ska and Northern Soul but thanks to the Internet and Travel, we can appreciate music in a broader horizon. Thank you Stills for the music. Thank you Nash for leaving the Hollies and Thank you Crosby for the best voice Eva, bring on Young, You Dancer 🤘
I feel like I'm not worthy of this level of beauty. This is undoubtably a celestial craft. The world BADLY needs raw heartfelt artists like this again.
Yes, you are right:. Badly needs
Please Lord 🙏🌍🙏✌️🌎💖☺️🤔🎵

Lyrics:
It's getting to the point where I'm no fun anymore
I am sorry
Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud
I am lonely
I am yours, you are mine
You are what you are
You make it hard
Remember what we've said and done
And felt about each other
Oh, babe have mercy
Don't let the past remind us of what we are not now
I am not dreaming
I am yours, you are mine
You are what you are
You make it hard
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Tearing yourself away from me now you are free
And I am crying
This does not mean I don't love you
I do, that's forever
Yes and for always
I am yours, you are mine
You are what you are
You make it hard
Something inside is telling me that I've got your secret
Are you still listening?
Fear is the lock and laughter the key to your heart
And I love you
I am yours, you are mine
You are what you are
You make it hard
And you make it hard
And you make it hard
And you make it hard
Friday evening
Sunday in the afternoon
What have you got to lose?
Tuesday morning
Please, be gone, I'm tired of you
What have you got to lose?
Can I tell it like it is? (Help me, I'm sufferin')
And listen to me baby
It's my heart that's a-sufferin', it's a-dyin' (Help me, I'm dyin')
And that's what I have to lose (To lose)
I've got an answer
I'm going to fly away
What have I got to lose?
Will you come see me
Thursdays and Saturdays?
(Hey, hey, hey) What have you got to lose?
Chestnut brown canary
Ruby throated sparrow
Sing a song, don't be long
Thrill me to the marrow
Voices of the angels
Ring around the moonlight
Asking me, said she's so free
How can you catch the sparrow?
Lacy lilting lady
Losing love lamenting
Change my life, make it right
Be my lady
Qué linda, me la traie a Cuba
La reina de la Mar Caribe
Cielo, sol, no llega tarde aquí
Y qué triste que no puedo bailar, oh va, oh va
Here is my alternative version to the Spanish lines : Qué linda me la traje pa' Cuba
La reina de la Mar Caribe
Quiero solo visitarte allí
Y qué triste que no puedo , ¡ vaya !
