    I really like that Lt Col. Vindman speaks of "compelling Putin to end the war" as opposed to the usual language of 'helping Ukraine be victorious'. It seems to take the global security situation as part and parcel of the entire picture, rather than a few isolated somewhat connected events. Very articulate, even, and realistic man.

    • @jmhorange
      @jmhorange 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What is his actual theory of victory? Saying compelling Putin to end the war or helping Ukraine be victorious are just words. The reason the Ukraine war is still going on because no Western leader has actually articulated how the war comes to an end, they just kick the can down the road. It's like saying a basketball team should win, and then someone asks how, and you tell the person, "You don't want to win?" Everyone knows the West wants Ukraine to win. The question is how? Lay it an actual plan. There's currently no theory of victory, just people like Vindman is just saying what people want to hear.

    • @DrVictorVasconcelos
      @DrVictorVasconcelos 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In other words, the Ukraine war is absent from the news because Ukraine is losing badly, and your favorite news organizations don't want to you to know it because they want you to support sending more young people to die for a hopeless cause? (The cause being to fracture Russia in ethnic lines so that it stops being a regional power.)

    • @hhumh6911
      @hhumh6911 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Except the west has been consistently failing to “compel” pootin to do anything exactly because it’s too concerned with the paralyzing concept of broader security. There’s no broader security unless you show grit and determination in repelling the aggressor, and the west has been far from consistent here, giving pootin enabling signals to push through further. You can’t compel anyone to make a critical decision when you’re indecisive yourself; it doesn’t work like that, and even less so with “former” kgb agents. What a waste of time and resources.

    One thing not addressed here is terribly slow rate at which the alliance is supplying Ukraine. Soon after the Kursk incursion, Zelenskiy himself said he could only arm 4 new Brigades, even though he was promised enough for 14! Vindman's suggestion for general mobilisation won't work if Ukraine can't equip that many new troops at once.
    Having said that, I do see an opportunity for Ukraine to push Russia out of Crimea using mass mobilisation next year, but it depends upon the allies supplying the needed equipment entirely over this winter to train everyone up in time for a summer offensive. There's even an argument to continue bleeding the Ruzzians for another year before launching a 2026 offensive because their Soviet stockpiles should finally be (mostly) exhausted by then.

    Today the people of Europe have a very good reason to be worried and concerned. When a country targets and kills innocent civilians with rockets missiles and artillery. Like Russia is still doing in Ukraine. And those 53 Ukrainian civilians killed while attending a memorial service. In the Kharkiv region and village of Hroza on October 11th 2023 comes to mind. Should Ukraine lose the war and Russia decides that it wants more territory than just Ukraine. And last year Russia publicly stated that they want to start a new world order. Then other European countries should expect the same kind of treatment from Russia with their own civilian population. No doubt other European Nato countries are aware of this fact too. And they will do everything they can to give aid and to support the people of Ukraine. Obviously for Europe's own safety and future too not just Ukraine.

      Europe together is the third largest economic power in the world. But they have still not put their industries on a war footing. With the USA out this is needed to defend Europe on its own. It just takes the political will.

    • @joesephsmith7991
      @joesephsmith7991 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is just my opinion but there will always be war. Because history if you study it always has a terrible habit of repeating itself. Meaning some leader of a country somewhere will sooner or later do the unthinkable and start another war and it never fails to happen. Unlike America who is always alert training and ready for war. Many European countries have forgotten this fact. And only now with the illegal Russia invasion of Ukraine. European countries are now starting to rebuild their own militaries. Again history if you study it. Just like clockwork there will always be another war and Europe has to be better prepared for it.

    • @joesephsmith7991
      @joesephsmith7991 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The good news for Europe's. The world is watching what America does in Ukraine and here is the reason why. Not only is America supposed to be the leader of the free world. But all other free democracies from around the world look too and depend on America being that leader. This means supporting Nato and the free and democratic country of Ukraine. Who as we all know was illegally invaded by a larger much more powerful and aggressive foreign power being Russia. Also some people and leaders of other foreign countries. Are familiar with and have even studied America's own Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America. The very beliefs and principles that America itself was founded on. Which of course greatly strengthens the faith hope and belief that other people and the leaders of like minded Nations will have in America. To always do the right thing when they are asking America for help.

    • @joesephsmith7991
      @joesephsmith7991 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree that Europe certainly has to get their act together. As an American I think that it is imperative and very important that America continue to support the good people of Ukraine. While at the same time recognizing Americas continued leadership and importance to remain a strong and reliable member of Nato. It is well known that Trump and his people do not support these two very important issues. Should America fail to support Ukraine and these two important issues. 1 It will only emboldened Dictators like Putin and other aggressive foreign countries. Giving them the green light to illegally invade their neighbors and other free democracies around the world. 2 A Nato without America as Trump has suggested. This would mean Europe assuming if need be that they are militarily capable of stopping Putin and Russia from further aggression and expansion of Europe by Russia should Ukraine lose the war. Also America being a nuclear power unlike any other on earth. All free democracies from around the world. Look too and depend on America to be the leader of the free world.

    The most important, and effective foreign policy changes we need in this country involving engineering situations where we are NOT to "Decide the Fate of the World". Dominance is poisonous. Our policy disasters toward Latin America, for instance, which have driven much of the problem people whine about regarding immigration, are from our engaging dominance behavior instead of a perspective of world democracy and diplomacy. The disaster in Gaza is driven by dominance policies allying with a violent and murderously bigoted Israel, rather than being concerned about the lives of the Jews, Christians, and Islamic people there as all equally human. Even the war in Ukraine has its seed in U.S. dominance behavior neglecting to help Russia after the fall of Yeltsin, and letting the country needlessly become a disaster under a delusion of "free market" bullshit. We can ONLY make things better with evidence based policy and world cooperation, and being Dominant instead of being democratic and diplomatic ALWAYS is a failure. I appreciate the work and professionalism of Alexander, but we ALL need to see this need and make it integral to our political attitudes and conceptions, or our stupidity will soon kill us all.

    Also, I call BS on the russia-Ukraine war being a war of poor and middle-class people. That’s 1000% true for russia, but it’s a nationwide war for Ukraine. There’s an economy we have to sustain; where someone feels they can contribute more as a volunteer or sponsor while staying in their regular job, they do so, which is one of the critical reasons why our country has been able to withstand the war this long (instead of the west-predicted two-three weeks, remember? Goes on to show you the value of analytics from people who have little influence or indeed understanding of what happens on the ground).

    The biblical prophet Elijah has returned, as prophesied, and testifies: Time to learn that GOD is in total control, with our only input being our desires and beliefs. Irrational desires and beliefs build a fire that requires PAIN so that we learn not to go there. And this Country and the world has followed the anti-Christ (ego) mentality (selfishness) into insanity so deep that the destruction and pain will match it, as prophesied in the Bible's Book of Revelation. Then GOD and Truth and Sanity will be able to get everyone's attention, and the Phoenix of Truth will eventually rise from the ashes.
