Can't believe they didn't mention Hugh Laurie as House. Thought that would be No.1.
And Andrew Lincoln
Audrey Hepburn was born in Belgium.
That;s near enough to Dover..
She's Anglo-Dutch.
Her Father was English and he and therefore she had a British Passport. Moved to England before WW2. Died in 1993.
@@rubberyowen1469Audrey Hepburn moved to the UK after WW2, it has been rumored that she acted as a message runner for the Dutch resistance during the war.
@@billsmith-hl8rk Her Mother took her to Holland from England when WW2 started for fear of the Germans invading England but of course Holland fell to Germany whilst she was there but she was only 12 yrs old at that time. Yes it was rumoured that she did message running and it may be so but I wouldn't of thought she was old enough. Times of course were different then so she may of done. Take Care.👍
Nobody in Britain, except the guy making the original video, thinks Michael Fassbender is British. Great actor, though.
Well, his mother is from Northern Ireland, which makes him 50% British.
@@padderzNot if he doesn’t choose to be. Not born there and never lived there.
Nor did the guy making the original video. Didn't you hear him being described as "Ireland's finest"?
Stan Laurel, Cary Grant.
What American icon did they portray?
@@dib000 Stan Laurel and Cary Grant.
@@davidmackenzie9701 they didn't portray any icons they played themselves 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Anthony hopkins is welsh
Yes...therefore British 🙄
@@mojokg13 obvs he's British but he's Welsh first.
@@sarablack2547interesting but what does that mean? has he said that?
So British then.
Christian Bale is not English, he is Welsh!
thank you! x
But is British nonetheless
Yes, he's British, not English though, Welsh!
Christian Bale was born in Wales to English parents and considers himself to be English
"ah well good for you!"@@bobbyboko6317
Chaplin was born and bred at the same place as Michael Caine and more importantly, me!
The Elephant and Castle, in South East London, S.E.1.
Audrey Hepburn was Belgian, Fassbender is of German descent but classifies himself as Irish , Bale isn't Welsh as some think, he's English and Hopkins is Welsh of course.
bale was born in wales.
Christian Bale was born in Haverfordwest, which is in Wales.
Audrey Hepburn was born in Belgium, but spent her childhood in Belgium, England and the Netherlands. Her mother was Dutch and her father was British. She was a British citizen.
Neilcarpenter2669....... bale is welsh. What makes you think otherwise ?
@@grandmabaddie Because his parents are English and it doesn't make you Chinese if you were born in Beijing . Many British people were born in India or other parts of the British Empire but they were still British, I was born in Wales however I'm not Welsh because neither of my parents are it isn't that difficult to understand really.
Audrey Hepburn was born into an aristocratic family in Brussels and spent parts of her childhood in Belgium, England and the Netherlands. She attended boarding school in Kent, England, but at the outbreak of World War II she returned to the Netherlands. During the war, Hepburn studied ballet at the Arnhem Conservatory and by 1944 she performed ballet to raise money to support the Dutch resistance.
Interesting, but a number of these great actors have somewhat limited if not absent British heritage. Jared Harris is a son of the late great movie star Richard Harris, which makes him half Irish!
Michael Fasbender is half Irish, and half German, which doesn't make any part of him British.
Audrey Hepburn was born in Brussels, Belgium, the daughter of a Dutch noblewoman and British subject father who was himself born in Bohemia in Austria-Hungary, making her British credentials rather doubtful. Audrey was mostly raised in pre war Netherlands and Belgium. She also spent a part of her life during World War Two as a volunteer in the anti-Nazi Resistance forces in Belgium, making her the real Muscles from Brussels, long before Jean Claude Van Damme!
Daniel Day Lewis, though English born is the son of the great English poet and literary figure Cecil Day Lewis who was born in Dublin, Ireland. Daniel has been living in Ireland for many years, and has adopted Irish citizenship, by virtue of his father's birth in the country.
Did you miss the introduction, where he used the term British OR Irish actors?
@@nicksykes4575 As if that matters.
@@76ludlow Well it seems to matter to you.
@@76ludlowIt completely negates your point so yeah, it matters.
I can never forgive Tom Hiddleston are doing an impression of Robert De Niro … to Robert De Niro!
One of the strangest castings was Mick Jagger as Ned Kelly.
What about Hugh Laurie, Damian Lewis?
What American icon did they portray?
@@dib000 Hugh Laurie played House
@@davidmackenzie9701 house is not an American icon to be portrayed he's a fictional character 🤣🤣
@@dib000So is Spiderman real then?.
"He has a forgettable face, he's like a white man" 😮 harsh
How about Damien Lewis playing Dick Winters in Band of Brothers? Several other members of Easy Company were also British.
Stop Yawning Woman.😄
british is a word for all country e,s,w,ni, get use to it , no one can claim him but himself or themselves that why british is used.
Britain is just Wales Scotland and England. N. Ireland falls under the UK
Audrey Hepburn had quite a complex background. Born in Belgium into an aristocratic family and spent parts of her childhood in Belgium, England and the Netherlands. Her mother was a Dutch noblewoman and her father was a British subject born in Austria-Hungary to a British Austrian father and German Austrian mother. She is known as British as she was a British citizen through her father and attended boarding school in England. Both her parents were associated with fascism in 1930s her mother having met Hitler and her father was deeply involved in the British Union of Fascists. So she herself always saw herself and identified as Dutch likely to her mother who was Dutch and she lived in Holland throughout WW2 experiencing many traumatic events. So really she is of mixed European heritage, she was born in Belgium, identified as Dutch which was her mother's nationality, attended school in Britain as her father was British and she held a British passport. So really she could have claimed citizenship in all three countries, in administrative terms you are considered the nationality of the country that issues your passport - so on paper she's British. In her case though (and I have no idea about each countries laws at the time) but technically she could also hold a passport in her birth country Belgium and her mothers country which was Holland - so could be a citizen of all three, but I have no idea if she did or not? I guess it probably was just alot easier on paper to be British but consider yourself and identify as Dutch. Its flippin complicated but such is the life of a wealthy aristocratic European family in the early part of the 1900s.
Toby McGuire was the best because he had the best storys and he was indeed Spiderman and not Iron-Robin the sidekick of rich daddy Stark. And if there is a person sitting behind a desk yelling at Peter that should be J.Jonah Jameson and not Nick Fury.
Ever heard of punctuation?. It's Tobey and if you'd ever read a comic you'd know Tom is the best representation of both Spiderman and young Peter, that plus the Iron Spider is from the comics long before that film. Also, J Jonah was in the last film, he wouldn't be sitting behind a desk yelling at Peter anyway, Peter hasn't started working at the Bugle yet.
No house?
Thumbs up in certain context gets you in trouble,
Just when I thought the young lady was going to get through a video without yawning. Definitely needs a good sleep. Looks like one of Dracula`s victims. I feel sad and worried.
Andrew Garfield for another spidy
I thought they would mention Hugh Laurie as House.
The american constitution is based on our unwritten constitution.
Best wishes

"Watch mojo" 's research is shoddy. Fassbender is German but brought up Ireland not British along with many other errors.
In fairness it said British and Irish at the start and it seems Michael considers himself Irish
Stephen Graham should be on this list
when the mic is bigger than the host lol
They forgot Stan Laurel!!!!
I thought the guy on the right was Masvidal for a second
Michael Fassbender was born in Germany and grew up in the Republic of Ireland. His father is German and his mother is Irish. Not sure why this video is claiming he’s British.
The watch mojo video says he is Irish. The guy said he’s English either because he wasn’t listening or he doesn’t know the difference.
@@Cleow33 Irish isn’t British though, and the title of the original video clearly says “played by Brits”.
@@ffotograffyddAgreed but the guy did say British or Irish in the video.
@@scottneil1187 Not the title of the video though…
You need a nap
You should watch the wire and see if you can guess who's British.
Christian Bale is Welsh but he is still British
Madam here is a bundle of laughs.
Audrey Hepburn is BELGIAN !
Are we keeping you from your bed !?
Audrey Hepburn IS culturally English with a English dad
Fassbender is Irish (b. Germany), so why is he on this list?
It said British & Irish. He's half Irish/german so half counts.
If she is anything, Audrey Hepburn is Dutch. The female family name is Heemstra, and the Heemstra's are old Arnhem aristocraats. Her grandfather was Mayor of Arnhem. Her father was Anglo Irish I believe....
Audrey Hepburn was born in Belgium
...and she was born in Belgium. It was only later that she took out British citizenship
Her father was British, her mother was Dutch. Her father's name was Ruston; he added the name "Hepburn" (as a double-barreled name) because of a supposed aristocratic descent from a Scottish family but that turned out to be a legendary, rather than real, relationship. Because of her father's job, the family moved between the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Hepburn's parents got divorced in the late 30s, she stopped going to school in England, her mother moved to Arnhem with all her children (she had some from a previous marriage), and then they couldn't leave.
Hepburn returned to England after the war to train in ballet but her health had been affected by years of starvation so she had to give that up. She went into acting, and took the Hepburn part of her name. She was always entitled to British citizenship because of her father.
Cary Grant ( Archie Leach)
Stan Laurel
Laurel and Hardy

me first woo hoo
Couldn't see the film bit, too small. Ended up watching the watchers . No thanks.
Go watch the original Watchmojo video then.
Will you stop saying English when you mean British or Irish, it's highly offensive. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is made up of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England. Please educate yourselves on this guys, sorry if I come across angry but I am, it's ridiculous how little Americans know of other countries.
"He has a forgettable face, he's like a white man" 😮 harsh
