Shes not difficult at all
Healing wise she's braindead, damage wise, you have to land your shots, and people kinda forget that not everyone has time to play a lot
Her primary is pretty high skill and healing is pretty ok except for healing small targets, her jump is easy and turrets just need smart placements
Her melee looks really cool

Why is the rifle shaped like a sword? Seems like they had other ideas for the hero when they designed the weapon
I played her... She is awesome. That is the kind of hero I want to play as support.
She combines the parts I enjoy from other supports (hitscan, mobility, healing that doesn't require a lot of APM) into one kit. Right now, I still enjoy Ana more, but that's likely because I'm just not used to Illari yet
@@bohdanpyzh2712 In the exact same boat, I’ve always mainly used Ana and wanted another hitscan because Bap just isn’t a character I enjoy playing as, and I think this is the one! She might not have the same utilities but her good damage capability and strong heals seem great. Besides that her outburst is like a lucio boop in all directions which can be quite strong surprisingly

When you play her for the first time she's kinda hard, but after playing more she's actually super easy and very powerful (Healing pylon op)
Easy to understand basics, hard to master to 100%. Which is probably how most of the heroes should be in the game (although I will say that her ult could use a bit of cost increase, with how much sustain healing the pylon can output)
Ok so a support dealing dmg, having decent healing + a sort of engage/disengage ability ? I’m totally sold. Great content as always ML7 !
Just based on first impressions, I think that Baptiste is a better Illari in most scenarios.
You lose out on the immobile heal turret, but you have an AOE heal and lamp.
Window seems like it would provide more consistent value compared to a projectile that can be blocked in many ways.
The only ability that Illari has that is superior is her boop/ omnidirectional mobility. But it being a cooldown brings it in line with Bap's Jump.
Maybe they would be a good support duo, but I think she isnt going to be meta simply due to the fact that Bap provides more consistent value.

I think the new hero ult is better at punishing teams who play close together. Imagine the chain explosions lol
Pylon is just like sym old shield when it comes to good hiding spots. This looks so amazing 🥰
I think the pylon is going to get nerfed like if you think about she can essentially pocket heal one person and still heal team. Like leave the pylon for an Ashe or Widow/hanzo in the back while she sits behind the tank healing their cheeks. Really good. Obviously her beam is short and doesnt have a ton of total healing as you need to recharge but can obviously be couple with like a Kiri who has constant heal.
Also her ult + sombra is probably an insta kill for most enemies. Like if they are full health get hit with the sun burst and then sombra hits her emp for 40% damage then they also take that addiotnal 120 from the sun burst ggs
Her heals with her Secondary alone suck badly in my experience. It's a nice burst, but it doesn't do anything in a prolonged fight, and stops your DMG from charging up while being used, so you cant cycle it like with Bap or Kiri. You really need your pylon to supplement your gun, or you're gonna fall behind on both heals and damage.
If you wanna have a sniper in the back, it'd be better to have a Mercy for them (or they can, grab a health pack and not take stupid peeks) while you worry about the tank.
@@ShadowfaxGambitI like the idea to combo with EMP. They're slowed, have no abilities, and are weakened already. You'd have to coordinate it pretty well first though, since Sunrise has a cast time, and is then a projectile after its shot.
I'm unsure if she's gonna be good with Dive. She doesn't have the mobility to keep up with them, nor the supportive range to help them out a lot.
She'll do great in poke due to the slow positioning if the comp, and her own poke dmg to throw in. But she may not beat Bap+Zen in that comp for the consistent damage those 2 provide, with more utility.
She might be played more in Rush. Her heals can then be used in the burst well, a pylon can get yeeted up high on a wall after you rush into whatever space you're taking, and then she provides her own decent damage. Not to mention, Sunrise is an amazing engagement tool for Rush comps if she lands it, or can be more of an "anti-nade" of its own, where she can use it to close out a fight once people use their cooldowns.
Depending on the comp she'll focus on her ult a lot
I really like this kind of heroes with simple kit but super fun like Ana

Imagine the hitting a team with illari, junkerqueen, and sombras ULTS all at once. She’s gonna have a lot of ult combo potential

the only ults combo potential i could see is zarya illari atm, or sigma illari
Surprisingly you missed a couple things: Firstly her ult does 50 explosion damage but only 5 impact damage so it's really important to try to hit the floor with it; this damage does not count towards the 100 damage needed for the explosion. Second, the pylon heals in a radius of 15m, but characters are generally about 1m tall or taller which is why 16-17m above still reaches (so 16m to the side would not have the same effectiveness). Lastly, while her melee does pause the shot cooldown, I found out while testing you can animation cancel shoot and melee very easily. You can literally spam shoot and melee simultaneously with no down time (Not sure if blizzard will fix this)
Overall she's an extremely fun hero, only played a few games as her and I already have a feeling she's gonna be a strong pick in competitive.
Her Healing gun sounds like the move Psybeam from Pokemon RBY. Lol

I think Ana really enables ur team, u can anti tank and make them free kills. My problem is u can do everything right and lose, for illari her damage nd her healing is powerful, u can focus dps with turret up if u wanted. She can carry very easily I think. A dead enemy is the best mitigation
Exactly other supports have special tools. Bap has his lamp and Ult, Zen has his debuff and his Ult cancels a lot other ults, Ana has her sleep/debuff/ult. The new hero is just a harder to play Moira.
@@alextube9639I disagree, I feel like Sunrise will be a really nice initiation tool, and can combo much better than Coal.
Her utility is gonna come from getting big chunks of damage for your flankers to finish off, I think. Maybe I suck, but I find it hard to secure kills solo with her, unless they're already damaged. Moira has to go after isolated targets, whereas Illari can just open/take advantage of opportunities herself if timed well.
She's also an excellent duelist imo. Moreso than Moira if you can hit shots

Great addition to overwatch. A support with a straight forward set of abilities that are satisfying and fun to use. Much less clunky and awkward than life weaver.
She has tonnes of carry potential so you feel like you are more in control over wether you lose or win. Able to burst heal when teammates are about to die, finish off enemies or do damage before they engage, sustain yourself so you can your 1v1s if you go for a flank or are dived on also escape tricky situations changing positions for better angles with the outburst.
So much more impactful on the outcome of the game. Especially her ultimate you can single handedly win a team fight or turn the odds into your favour.
The only way she is effective though is by finishing a fight quickly. Since her burst healing only lasts for a few seconds prolonged team fights will mean you can not keep your team up and eventually be overwhelmed by the damage.
I feel like a lot of the lower ranks will struggle and complain about the lack of healing. With this hero you need to be proactive and be a play maker to win fights. Lower ranks misunderstand what a support means, they believe it means just keeping your team alive and healing. It doesn’t just mean keep your team alive it also means ‘supporting’ your teams attack and looking for value. Maybe be it will be a shock to the system truly clashing with the last release of life weaver. It will either be a form of enlightenment teaching the lower ranks about how supports can add value by damaging and controlling space or just be something for them to complain about since they can’t just sit afk healing the whole game in hopes that their dps and tank are better than their enemies.
Juxtaposing outcomes, quite exciting. I feel like she is capable of becoming meta especially with the powerful ultimate combos. Truly a force to be reckoned with if you master her abilities.
I’m loving her so much, my new main for sure. I had a genji on the enemy team earlier that I kept killing and he was just like “I hate these new healers wtf”. was quite satisfying ngl 😭

She seems rlly fun, tho unlike what it happened with kiriko for me, she just doesnt quite seem the support that I'd master feel like she provides very few utility to the team other than healing
It's funny how they portrayed Ziegler as a genius for creating that healing technology. However, even though some re-use her work like Moira, Anna, Brigitte and some others, some heroes like Illari or Kiriko seem to simply pull it out of their ass from something that looks like magic lol.
I do like her kit's mechanics though.
She's so fun to play and play along side. The team kills as a support are hella rewarding.

Pretty much. I don’t see the point of this hero over kiri, ana, Bap, brig, lucio, mercy, zen. I’ll guarantee this hero is looked at as a joke in about a month
I fucking love her so much already looks fun af the part where you have to decide whether to heal or dmg is gonna be hard but I'm sure I'll learn that quickly definitely maining her

Great job on the video mate. One question. Did you try to make videos with timestamps? This is very helpful when a video is segmented like this one.
Played her a ton yesterday and she is SO much fun. I main Ana so another Aim intensive support has been a blast, except this one can headshot!
The biggest thing for me is I have to get mlre comfortable with using her Pylon on retakes. I get so scared of not having it in perfect positions because of the 12s cooldown. It's an integral part of her kit and not having it for that long is very rough, but not using it at all is worse.
I think lifeweaver's petal platform may be better used if it's like sym's teleport and it has an F to activate, so you're conscious of when you're going to go up rather than just walking backwards and falling off lol.
I've played her a bit and I really do think she feels alot like a dps but with healing. It's a bit weird but not that bad. Personally, I would have preferred her primary and secondary fire if they were swapped, as in the beam was the dmg dealer and the hitscan shots were the healing. I think that change would have easily made her feal more like a support and less like a dps
Her ult with every tank ult will be op🔥🔥🔥🔥.

I played a scrim last night it was like 3k-3500 ish and the clutch factor of the hero was crazy. We got a lot of success in poke with her along side Ana/bap. Her ultimate charge rate might be a little overtuned though.
I feel like her lazer beam stuff should charge faster. I don’t mind the 2.3 seconds but her lazer charges really slow
nah bro... if that were the case they would also have to nerf the healing it does because 120 hp per second is no joke

Smaller numbers but more consistency and faster uptimes/cooldowns, and perhaps a second passive that goes something like filling her shot charge on headshots + heal beam increased capacity for short time if you destroy your own pylon. That way she could offer reliable and consistent value with her kit in teamfights, while still keeping that high risk high reward play style. LW hugely sufferers from his inconsistency and kit that has trouble finding place continually through out a match. With Illari I'm afraid the same might happen again. She plays too much like a valo character I feel like. Need to be very precise to pick quick kills, and all the rest is situational utility that realistically works only once every 30 seconds. Her ult is a HUGE make it or break it. Its basic value is lower than normal cds of other supports, and if you get denied the opportunity, which most likely would be the case, you are left with nothing but your primary fire for the rest of the fight. Literally like valorant

But while i think she could become inconsistent, i dont think it will be as bad as LW was/still is. Anyways great points there friendo
Solo-carry type of a support similar to Bap but quite a different playstyle with her kit. 🗿
With her ultimate, enemies marked by the sun effect will explode after taking 100 damage, and the explosion does 120 damage. Love the videos ML been a fan for a while, I agree with a lot of your takes on this new hero I think she'll be very fun!

Seems like the hardest part of her kit is the primary from the looks of things. Once you get the rhythm down though I think she can be very strong.
As a support main that has a mechanical skill of a tree log hitting a 5 man ult and then popping them 1 by 1 with this hero feels godlike...

Imma be honest she seems terrible, cool design but I dont see her doing enough during fights to be worth it, pretty low heals, low damage, situational ultimate. I kind of wish her little jump/knockback would heal teammates, not only would it help her but the way the ability looks make me think thats what it should do anyways

After playing for a hour with her, i think the healing pylon should be nerfed a little, it has some really powerful healing potential and if you get creative it can be a pain in the ass for the enemy to destroy it, her ultimate is cool but imo is best when used with other ultimates (Shatter, Gravitic Flux, DragonBlade, Death Blossom) and her gun is very powerful but you must be good at aiming which i personally suck. Overall she's very fun to play and strong, a better release than LW for sure.
The only thing that catches me off about her is her jump ability, it has all of the visuals and sound effects of a self heal but it doesn't.
With all the people complaining about Kiriko with "support btw". I wonder what they are going to think about this hero.

I think it's gonna be fine. Kiriko is frustrating to 1v1 because she does massive headshot damage, with a very forgiving projectile hitbox, so she can 2-tap you up close, while herself has a tiny hitbox, an immortality button and even if you get the better of her she can always tp out before you can finish her most of the times.
Illari seems to have less damage, a bigger hitbox, and no panic button like immortality or teleport, just a bash-dash and a sustain turret you can destroy. Even if she is more dps-oriented than regular supports, she seems like a fairer matchup than kiriko.

So the support hero (+) is kinda like a hybrid between Mercy and Widowmaker.
Mercy in that she can deliver a ton of healing.
Widowmaker in that she's maneuverable and can do sniping.
Looks dope.

Mercy can't deliver a lot of healing lmao she heals very little in fact you can only provide a good amount of healing in comparison to other characters in lower elos bc they can't heal as much cuz they can't aim
I didn't know about the primary fire needing to charge no wonder my shit was not hitting hard.
Damn.. such a nice healer. High risk, high skill cap, high reward. The paradox is that she looks easy to play for newcomers. The turret seems a "little strong" but can be destroyed. The ult.. well, I was expecting damage AND heal when it explodes, but ok.
Character seems awesome, super fun to play so far, but her healing output is definitely gonna need to be fine-tuned, the way Kiriko's was

Yes, you can damage, yes you can heal, but she doesn't have abilities, that can actually change the teamfight, like nade, lamp, speedboost etc
Ultimate is strong but, damage is good, heal is good but still, there is no strong potential to turn the battles around
Outburst could be a real nightmare on that one Nepal map

She is such a cool character. I think if I was Peruvian I would be very proud.
My thoughts so far are that I really like the healing and ult. I don't like the damage. You basically get out damaged by all supports except life weaver and mercy and the wait time between shots is way too slow. Remove the charge up between shots and maybe increase the damage by 10 and I think it will be perfect.

@@willow3643 you do realize baptiste, kiriko and zen can 2 shot all squishies without any waiting time or charge? And when we talk about non charge shots, it takes 4 headshots and 6 body shots. Ana can kill in 3 body shots without any charge up. Moira and brig dont really attack in bursts but the time required to kill squishes with them is still faster and they have aoe attacks. I have a far easier time bringing down pharah with zen than Illari simply because zen can kill her before she gets any heals. With ana and Baptiste it's even far easier

Does she feel a little unfinished to anyone? If she has ANY voice interactions with other heroes, I haven't heard them yet. Also, I see her cute and pixel sprays, but there doesn't seem to be any achievement to earn them?
Only fear is that her pylon is too fragile or too long of a cooldown on top of her being resource intensive on her secondary fire
Her pylon seems to be more of a side heal. Seems like they almost want you to heal up burst dmg and let the second support do the rest. She will be a great second support for peels.
How come you have varied UI for flashpoint, sometimes it shows rhombuses at the top like @ 13:41, sometimes just digits. Was version with digits a pre-release version or these can be changed somehow within the game?
these games are from the preview server, the live version has rhombuses
Shes really cool but i think its going to be better if they remove one of the «reloading » think on her healing or dmg, cause if you run out of heals and you cant do enough dmg thats bad
After a couple of days I0m feeling like she's a little too strong. Too much dmg for a support with that heal, or too much heal for a support with that dmg...
Looks really good, im so pumped for her i might buy my 1st battle pass this season. We'll see if i play enough ow tho

she's a super super fun support to play, I really think she's well balanced as well, but we know blizzard will nerf her.. not cos she's OP, but cos they can't be arsed to make other character as much fun and efficient (RIP lifeweaver).. might as well enjoy it while it lasts

Overwatch has not been fun for a long time. In my opinion has not been since season 2. But it is always fun to watch people like you play the game and have a good time.

Idk. I'm not really a fan of offensive/dps supports. To me a support is meant to play around their team not the other way around. Maybe i think this way cause im a lazy support player and would rather have my team do all fighting
i just dont like the idea of having heroes where they need to switch to damage to healing like lifeweaver but other then that looks really fun to play :D
