    i really hope the prospector gets an update like this, with the interior we could have a panel that controls each side of what ore we want in what container, from a internal ore buffer like on salvage ships, as well as being able to dump the inert material as it was stating in the QnA was a feature of the prospector

  • @Malember
    @Malember 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +10

    One item of note: The Vulture has 2 size 1 heads, the Fortune has 1 size 2 head. (according to erkul). It will be interesting to see how they compare in use.

    • @ulvemann43
      @ulvemann43 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      This is incorrect.
      Erkul lists the Fortune with one S2 head, and the Vulture with two S2 heads.
      However both ships use S1 modules.
      Though these salvage heads are weird, since even the Reclaimer is listed as using an S2 head, however its scraper has different stats to the Vulture, IIRC. However the Reclaimer's turret is S5, so perhaps that's the deciding factor.
      But even then, both Fortune and Vulture have S1 salvage arms.

  • @ulvemann43
    @ulvemann43 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

    0:19 it is not actually longer, and i believe its dimensions are exact to the Prospector.
    It appears and feels longer because it no longer has those ore bags, and because it has a much larger interior.
    It has a larger interior because most of the Prospector's internals are taken up by what i can assume to be ore sorting and other related systems that funnel ores to the bags and such.
    The Fortune's interior simply replaces all of that.

    They could also make the Vulture be the only salvage ship that stores RMC within the little buffer mill it has. Otherwise, you'd lose the advantage the Vulture has over the Fortune if they revert it to only storing 1 SCU worth of salvage in the buffer unless they also make the cargo ejection system automated.
    You know, besides being able transport vehicles around. And not being mistaken for a Prospector with who knows what on board.

  • @TheeKevlarDucky
    @TheeKevlarDucky 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

    Not morth the money to pledge for it. It has a S2 salvage head which, in theory, should mean it scrapes faster. It doesnt. Reclaimer average scrape speed on smooth hulls (crusader ships, starfarer, HH) is roughly 2.1-2.5 cSCU. The Vulture with 2 S1 heads can be kept at 2.8-3.2 fairly easily. Getting out of your seat is a moot point because you'd still have to get out to move at least 4 SCU to the back in the Fortune. So one trip out of the seat.
    I can fit 38 SCU reliably in the Vulture with minimal effort. Using the cSCU speed, it would take about 21 minutes of just scraping (not including ejecting boxes) to get to 38. With the Fortune and its average scrape speed, it would take 29.5 minutes. Not a small difference in time between the two. Quite a hefty penalty in fact.
    What CIG is good at doing is buffing/nerfing things to benefit the sales of a new ship. So we could finally see a buff to S2 heads which should absolutely happen because a single Reclaimer salvage head SHOULD scrape faster than the Vulture but it doesn't...

    • @birdmonster4586
      @birdmonster4586 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The Salvage head sizes are the same size. Fortune just has one less. Which still isn't great.

    • @TheeKevlarDucky
      @TheeKevlarDucky 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @birdmonster4586 ah, I thought during the data mining it had come out it was a S2 head which lead us to believe it was a mid-sized salvager. If they try to sell this ship for more than the Prospector is going for now then it's DOA.
      Man......if it is a S1 head.....sheesh. If they charge more than $125 then it's DOA. That would take it's scrape speed down to 1.5...so, now you're looking at 42 minutes to get to the theoretical 38 SCU (that's including buffer). Garbage ship if that really is a S1 head. You get out of your chair twice in a Vulture to move boxes. You get out once in a Fortune but the fortunate takes twice as long to scrape? Not worth that trade-off at all.

    • @leifelliott3615
      @leifelliott3615 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheeKevlarDuckythe Fortune should be scraping at almost the same speed as the Vulture with its single s2 beam. And you shouldn't have to get out of the seat until you get to the 25th scu. Then you either head home or eject and someone in a small cargo ship grabs up the 25 single scu boxes on the ground/ near space. That's all the plus. The negative is that it can't really hold any salvaged components. Not really. But it's more likely that a Fortune will team up with a Freelancer and that's a win for social gaming.

  • @renaudabbadie8154
    @renaudabbadie8154 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I guess those pads - with what seems to be magnetic rails connecting them - will work like a conveyor belt in order to automatically organize the SCU produced. But these specialized pads might not be able to carry other item types, unlike a classic cargo grid. As a result, the Fortune could be faster for hull scraping but less versatile than the Vulture. If I'm not wrong, the latter is also waiting for the Maelstrom tech so it might be able to munch hull pieces between its front arms in the future.

    It looks good. Happy with my Vulture, though. Would switch if it can carry more RCM with less fuss. If you put the Vulture boxes off the cargo grid you can carry about 20-26 boxes in the hold (depending on the skill and courage of the one placing the boxes) plus another 13 in the buffer.
    I heard the Fortune might have two buffers (so 2x13). And with 2x6 SCU's on the side that would be 38 SCU's and I'd be mildly happy but not outright convinced. But I don't need to be. Got a Vulture already.

    If the fortune had a double size buffer, to account for the two sides I'd consider it.
    But at this point I'm not sure since we lose a whole salvage beam in the process.
    The whole argument in favour of the Fortune is that it has the cargo on the outside of the ship.
    To be honest, unloading a Vulture is not that hard or time consuming. Point the cargo bay at the Cargo elevator, land, unload, it really doesn't work out any harder than I see the fortune being while also being a much faster to do the job.
    I dunno, I'm not seeing it. I'm a big MISC Fanboy and was keen for the Fortune, but it's definitely a wait and see.

    The main things this does are salvage and store salvage. Yet more volume is committed to a corridor to the back of the ship than is committed to either of those tasks.
    Very small changes, dedicated to cargo, would have massively increased the utility of the vehicle.

    Easy upgrade for me. Vulture is tedious to use with the lil 1 box at a time thing and a million doors to wait for. Go out, do your thing, come back. If a pirate wants boxes, they're not going to use tractor beams to do it - just guns.

    I would've liked to see it in action. Like what happens with the boxes. Does it automatically put them out? I'm interested to see how well this compares to a vulture time wise of the actual salvage process, dealing with cargo, and how much it makes on a single run. I have a feeling this is going to kill the vulture.

    What can it haul vs vulture would be my question because if the trip out is significantly more aeuc than vulture then it may be interesting. I don’t care about component hauling because I never bother anyway I mostly panel salvage for a quick influx of cash. If the fortune is a hundred thousand more a haul then it may be worth it but if it’s the same or less money per trip than the vultures bay is more useful and I’ll stick with that.

  • @BigBobBlazer
    @BigBobBlazer 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    CIG keeps it up with the terrible decisions. Instead of making a unique, well-needed salvage ship in-between the Reclaimer and the Vulture, they just take the Prospector and turn it into a Vulture equivalent salvage vessel.
    It doesn't give any "new" vibes and drive people to buy something and it doesn't add any variety or fit a much needed role either. Just another ship we didn't need at all. Meanwhile, the MSR and Herald have been without data running for over half a decade. Cool stuff.

    This will actually be worse than the vulture because at least in the vulture you can put extra cargo off the cargo grid this one seems you will be forced to have to snap it on the outside. Furthermore the cargo is now exposed outside for everyone to see 😂

      @beardedbarnstormer9577 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      it automatically stores it externally no manual effort required, the trade off is not as much storage, i think its a fair compromise, vulture was always really a two person craft to be the most efficient, now one person can salvage while the other tractors off cubes to a larger delivery vessel

    • @Funkiyy
      @Funkiyy 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @beardedbarnstormer9577 I disagree you can argue that they both are two person ships one way or another. Also you have to put in consideration that even though it's automated you're having to run around on both sides of the ship to dispense your cargo and you're still vulnerable to more attacks because people will see that you have cargo I'm also not a huge fan of misc ships with the failure of wasted space of the starLancer and the Really problematic storage in the center of that ship if only they could get rid of that middle catwalk so you can move Cargo in between each side I would say hooray as far as design of misc ships they seem to be lacking.
