It is so fiddly when you have linkages. I fitted Hagons to my V7, made a great improvement over stock.... but on a twin shock, so much easier to change them! :D
Yeh seen that with the wheel change, the left was put on in a flash 😂. Really should have removed the linkages and swing arm, cleaned and greased everything but if this bikes a keeper it's something I can do maybe next winter. Thanks for watching buddy. 👍
I see so many shows where old metal is tinkered with, like this one (which I like very much and you´re doing a fantastic job). I happen to be one of those totally crazy people who wrenches on old French cars with hydropneumatic suspensions, like DS,CX,BX,GS,GSA. I´m doing this for many years (I happen to have a RC36 as well, besides other Honda Vehicles ranging from S2000 to F-RV), but what will always be a mystery to me is this: WHY is it , that nobody who deals with rusted bolts on a regular basis, has the habit of drenching it in WD40 or similar first, before any attempt to losen it is started? As somebody who has ripped off many a bolts and had to refer to welding and all sorts of manipulation in spots that you can hardly see or feel, I just don´t get it. It saves a ton of work , makes the loosening way easier and prevents desaster in most cases. But I guess it will stay a mystery and I will be known as the only idiot who does it:) No offense or mean spirit here, it is just my experience and maybe it can help you in the future. Best Regards from Germany and a heartly felt RIP for a famous Haggis: Steve Hislop. Cheers Tobias
Well said Steve.. I have a soft spot for old stuff but they just scream money money money. I've always fancied an FR-V but the emissions kill us on tax over here so couldn't justify buying one. Lovely looking thing though and that high revving S2000 😍😍😍. Yes old rusty bolts.. Love my VFR. Thanks for your comments 👍
Did you see the state of it.. yeh getting stuck would have been fun, means I could have spent more time in the garage 😜 At least that's it on and hopi g I can test it out in a few weeks. 🤩🤩
The build series is going really well. I think awkward nuts and bolts are made much harder when you have to fit a camera in there too 🤣 This bike gonna be amazing when you finish. Are you gonna be close by the time lockdown ends? You'll prob just want to be out on the bike at that point 👍
Hoping.. mid April it will be ready. A total restoration would take all summer but i can get it mechanically sound and looking good. Thanks for looking buddy.
Ha yeh more than most with this project. I've never actually ridden this bike, bought it as a junker and replacing most of it 😂. Cant compare to original but the shock did look fekd. Restoration coming along so hoping to test it out around april. Thanks for watching bud 👍
Great vid. Followed it exactly and have now changed mine. Cheers
Great.. Glad i could help you buddy.👍
Cheers, very handy.
Great Shock

Nice one, good to see someone other than me struggling once in a while!😂. Have you ridden with the new shock yet? Is there a marked difference?
