This movie likely had anyone involved in gangs leave the cinema really reflecting on their style. If anything this movie probably planted many seeds of self reflection in the minds of young people from a street gang lifestyle, which would have been nothing but positive. This movie did not glorify gang culture. The movie emphasized the need for love, compassion, empathy and true friendship. The conservative news outlets are the true enemy of the people. They are the ones who spread hatred, mistrust, racism and bigotry and are responsible in large part of the divisions within our society.
The story didn't inspire any sympathy in me, the characters Marco and Timmy wasn't forced into gang violance they choose it because of the way they were raised. They wasn't taught by a stong male role model how to deal with anger and thats the issue in real life for many if not all of these street gangs. What it did show well was the circle of violance caused by bad chocies.
Let’s be honest it probably was because a bunch of knobhead wannabe’s saw it and started acting hard . The same way after watching fast and furious everyone would drive home speeding we’re any of those films banned after dangerous driving home from the cinema and speeding . No
I watched the film and I totally get its message but I do think it actually incites violence. Just because these are often 14 year old kids and I don't wether they get the message the film tries to bring across. I'm afraid they just see the gang scenes with the rap music and think it looks cool..
How about spending money on education and social and work opportunities rather than spending the money on prisons which just causes more problems rather than fixing them
